- This is a mod Showcase on the Alex's mobs mod. Alex's mobs adds over 90 modded minecraft creatures into the game. Some are from the real world and some are fantasy. This video will be a guide to the mod and showcase them in the categorical order of: Passive mobs, Neutral mobs, Defensive mobs, Hostile mobs.

I was getting some comments about the order being jumbled but I just forget to mention beforehand which section was which for fantasy/real world of each category so I've created chapters for the video to make that more obvious. Hope that clears up any confusion. The full list of mobs is available in the description.

I didn’t know I had this mod once as part of a mod pack on a multiplayer server and shat myself when a cave centipede came at me full speed in the dark.

The reference of naming the toucan Sam is to the cereal Froot Loops, I think. It’s the bird on the box and his name is Toucan Sam. These references are such a wonderful detail of this mod.

Just do some research as to why they can't
This mod is great and all but I get why vanilla Minecraft doesn't have this after playing with it. Better MC modpack has this mod, and I'm in my third world with it. Maybe it's my super shtty luck and nobody else has this problem, idk, but for me it was super hard to find vanilla mobs with this mod. I had all kinds of animals around my bases which are great to look at, but I had to travel a lot to find sheep, cows, and even chickens. I still haven't seen a single rabbit in any of my worlds lol.

@@martos1241 because mojang has stated that quote "if we worked on all three of them we wouldnt be able to focus on the core update" which is absolute bullcrap considering what they add on april 1st updates💀 in short: they are too lazy to do so
tarantula hawks are real creatures but the alexs mobs version is just amplified in size

Nobody’s mentioning how the Warped Mosco is just a blue Buzzwole
It's not fair that Crimson Mosquito can turn into Buzzwole, but Toucans can't turn into Toucannons.

I'm loving the variety of mobs here! Especially as a student marine biologist, it makes me happy to see the aquatic animals get some attention!

We could have done with a description of the mob drops and abilities..
For example the large catfish will swallow any mob 1 block high or less and can be bucketed.
It will drop the mob if punched. This makes it PERFECT for transporting mobs back to your base. Its not just a fish.
It can be used to swallow allays so your allays are now usable from your inventory :)
The road runner leaves feathers that when crafted into boot makes you super fast on sand.
Funny story.. i once punched a random catfish in a swamp and it dropped a FULL SIZED crocodile that then death rolled me...
lol. That'll teach me :)
Endergrade and flutters would fit really well in vanilla
I just started a let’s play on my channel with this mod installed, I’m so glad you posted this, this is just what I needed.
For those who don’t know, the reason naming a toucan ‘Sam’ turns it all colourful, is because it’s the mascot for the Froot Loops Cereal

Some of the ones you listed can be tamed but weren’t shown how! If you drop eggs to a raccoon enough times you’ll tame them

I like that you include cosmic cod, mungus, and the leviathan in the real mobs instead of fantasy. I know they're all based on real animals and stuff, but is the very first fantasy mob NOT based on a bunny? Its got bun right in the name lmao
The cosmaw for instance is based on the Tuli Monster which is an extinct predator and one of the oldest lifeforms we know of. Like I assume the leviathan was considered a real mob bc of plesiosaurs but the casmaw is definitely also based on an animal that looks exactly the same

Oh the Dev team is doing fine, they just don't see any need to be in any rush or make any dramatically huge updates. This game is 13 years old after all

does anyone else have issues with both Alex's Mobs and Alex's Caves when they have shaders installed? I have Complimentary Shaders which seems to make some of the mobs in both mods invisible, does anyone happen to know a fix for my situation?
Can i use this mod but limit it so that only realistic animals spawn and not like some of the weird mutants and stuff?

They should’ve added a feature where if you name a Mungus “Amongus” it will turn into the red amongus skin XDDD

See know I hate to be that guy, but tarantula hawks are not fantasy creatures, they are very real, and they do kill spiders and lay their eggs in them

Murmurs are a cool mob but they kept attacking me _through_ blocks so I disabled them.
alex mobs was good but hte crimson mosquitos were the mot annoying things ever, they ruined my gold farm so I jsut switched to untamed wilds

Fun facts that you didn't mentioned; The Froststalkers are probably inspired on Baggi / Great Baggi from Monster Hunter
While the Great Mosco is pretty clearly based on Buzzwole from pokemon, hope these are some cool fun facts :D

All neutral mobs attack you if you attack them right?
normally yes but some of them attack if you're too close

@@MrFallDamage787 They are labelled as "defensive" and "placatable" mobs. For example, Grizzly Bear, Tiger, Centipede, Crocodile, Komodo Dragon, and Rhinoceros.

@@MrFallDamage787 This is one of my favourite mods, but I wish that the developer, showcase videos, and the fan wiki were better at conveying information such as mob behaviour. I still do not know how the Bison works. Some attack me on sight while other Bison do not care unless attacked.

A tarantula hawk is a real insect the lays it’s eggs inside of tarantulas, and the larvas eat them alive.
The warped mosco is a reference to the Pokémon buzzswole
