This is by far my favourite song by Buffalo Tom, and I still have the 12" of 'Velvet Roof' that I bought in 1992 when I was 20. ;-) I only found out much later that this song and the album 'Let Me Come Over' (also released in 1992) were produced by none other than Paul Kolderie, the engineer of 'Come On Pilgrim' and 'Surfer Rosa' by Pixies...🙂
Here she comes across the street But I'm already there downstairs to meet with her She could make my life complete But I'm already there to compete with her Climb aboard my velvet roof And smile showing me one golden tooth A simple gesture yes or no Would have been enough to let me know Scraggly hair and messed up shoes I'm lookin' all around for you Find you in the corner bar But you can't find the keys to your car She's as sharp as a razor blade But she could cut my wrists open just the same Softer than my velvet floor Gatherin' up the veil and goin' home Hey, hey Hey, hey Scraggly hair and messed up shoes I'm lookin' all around for you Find you in the corner bar But you can't find the keys to your car She's as sharp as a razor blade But she could cut my wrists open just the same Softer than my velvet floor Gatherin' up the veil and goin' home Hey man what's the matter with Hey man what's the matter with you? Hey man what's the matter with (Hey man what's the matter with) Hey man what's the matter with you? (Hey man what's the matter) Hey man what's the matter with (Hey man what's the matter with) Hey man what's the matter with you? (Hey man what's the matter with you?) Hey
@@I_Have_The_Most_Japanese_Music Yes, There are plenty of Radio Stations in Ireland other than 2FM. I think you are taking the name too literally, hence the term "2FM"
Reminds me of staggering around in 90s...
Great Band !
Underrated song!

So underrated.
Best band I ever got to open for. The three most underrated bands of the 90's is Buffalo Tom at #1 Timbuk 3 at #2 and Urge Overkill at #3.
Meat Puppets #2, sorry.
This tune was my first BT tune, it blew me away the first time I heard it. One of my all time favorites tunes and bands.
Great song.
My youth. Great tune, BT! That was a fun day! I didn't have my municipal airport golf cart license at the time.
Summer's gone and i was wasted every day
120 mins introduced me to this masterpiece. A riff to make your hair grow.
So few views and comments, such a big hit with the kids at the time.
They were so great live, everytime they toured,we HAD to go.
Masterpiece!
Immense...I first heard it on MTV''s 120 minutes in. '92..
Just after The Cure's High
That was a good night of videos. LDS is the Bomb, Snacks and Candy, Teen Angst, Lips Like Sugar.
The BEST driving song ever!!!!!!!!
Classic tune! Thanks for posting!

I remember hearing this song on the radio in 1992! Only on Dave Fannings show on 2FM Ireland's "Indie/Alternative music!
Do you heard for ''Fugazi''?
