    In Investments, the rule of 72, the rule of 70 and the rule of 69.3 are methods for estimating an investment's doubling time. The rule number is divided by the interest percentage per period to obtain the approximate number of periods required for doubling. All this rules are useful if you don't have the right setup and the educational materials to guide you on your early beginning.

So when you explain this so simply and slowly it's easy to understand plus the fact you take it step by step. which other teachers don't. On your first problem with
    P=20,000
    Int 0.08
    time = 40 yrs
    n = 12 (compounded Monthly)
    A = $485,467.71
    Not $485,467.79
    A Spreadsheet is the better tool rather than a calculator because you can easily make a table
    With N = 1, 4, 12, and 365 and
    also add the Continuous Compounding for a Column of its own
    to see A increase as N increases.
    Good Explanations all in all.

    At 15:18 minutes, the formula is wrong: A = P * e^(Rt). The right formula should be A = P * (1+ R)^t. We are talking about percentage here, and there is no reason to introduce the natural number e, unless you use e ^[ln(1+R) * t], and make ln(1+R) = λ. If so the correct equation should be A = P * e^(λ t), where λ = ln (1+R).
