"0 factorial does not equal 0, 0 factorial equals 1...if you're wondering why.... that's just the way it is. I don't have an answer for you." 10:52 Savage LOL
The reason why 0! Equals 1 is because when you do 0!= 1!/1! (One factorial over one factorial) it just cancels out to 1. It’s the same if you were to do 2!=3!/3!. When you expand the equation, You would cancel out the 3 on the bottom with the three on the top and be left with 2 times 1 which, of course, is 2!
@@prncess1848 u explained it right except that " 2!=3!/3! " should not have factorial in the denominator, thus it would look like " 2!=3!/3 " standard formula would be n! = (n+1)! / (n+1)

I love how he explains the difference between permutation and combination. It took a me a couple example to finally grasp the advantage of using the formula provided. 10:51 If there's anyone wondering, I think I figured out why 0! is equal to 1 while watching the video. Basically, if n is like the menu of things you're choosing, and r is the amount of things you can choose from that menu. We can see in the question that n is 5, r is also 5, meaning you have to pick everything out of the menu and not leave anything out. Therefore, there's nothing to cancel out at the bottom to account for anything you can't pick. And having a look at the numbers that fill the spaces at the top left of the screen, I can understand it's the same as just dividing the full factorial by 1. (Please feel free to ask me about any part of my explanation if it was still confusing for you.)
I switched from incognito to regular window just to give it a thumbs up. I studied this topic around 14-15 years ago. I didn’t understand any of it other than memorizing and writing in the exam papers. Due to CWC 2023, I wanted to know how 10 teams playing each other once will have 45 matches in total. I don't want to blame my teachers. They tried their best. Either I was not paying attention or they didn't know that we didn't understand at that time. But kudos to you. Now it seems easy to understand.

At 11:11, 0!=1 is not just what "you have to know" but rather is what you CAN calculate if you know that n!=n×(n-1)! If n=1, you are getting 1!=1×0! or 1=1×0!. Then, 0! has to be 1.

0!=1 is not just what "you have to know" but rather is what you CAN calculate if you know that n!=n×(n-1)!
If n=1, you are getting 1!=1×0! or 1=1×0!. Then, 0! has to be 1.
That plus the fact that there is only 1 way to arrange zero amount of things. That is why 0! = 1.
