Been fishing 55 years now. Just got into Jerkbaits. The sizes, colors, rod's, reel's, line etc. How they float or don't. Hook changes. Weight here or there. Even no weight at all! Conditions, clouds, no clouds, Sun or no sun. Twitching and how much Twitching. The bait is the most simple bait. Why so much info. I still have Rapala sinking minnow. Went back cleaned it a little. Put some sticky hooks on the minnow. Bam! It's still catches bass. No fuss. Just fish it! Shawn
Amazing, thanks Randy! It’s about getting the action of a jerkbait bait into a zone that most others can’t. So interesting how many people can’t perceive how to do that because they are messing up their expensive lure.
Some good tips...but using crazy glue to attach lead strips than hacking it off with a dull scissors and than adding nail polish on a $25 jerk bait seems a little bizarre
Charlie Yingst I cringed a little when he started scraping that $25 Jerkbait lol... and I’m over here debating if I should spend $9 for a KVD Jerkbait every time I got to Walmart 😂
Gee808 85 I'm a jerk baiting fool....I agree $25 for a single bait is a exorbitant...but when the jerk bait bite is on Megabass 110's just out shines every other bait....
Just bought a Rapala Husky Jerk last month. Fished for three hours on a 58 degrees winter day. Never caught a thing no bites nothing! But I will try again in February. Rapalas are great baits. I use a shad rap alot also. Thanks for your comment too. Shawn
I used a gift card to buy 3 mega bass 110jr and absolutely destroyed fish last year. I'm not even a jerkbait thrower and it turned into a confidence bait.
He's talking about modifying it so that it has a slow fall in the winter. If you wanted the same with a Husky Jerk, you'd have to do the same thing or go buy another Rapala jerkbait that sinks.....
Another tip, that works on perch, if you get a lot of nibblers, tie some feathers on the last hook, it will slow it down some and get it behind the baitinstead of below it.

No, Those stock hooks are garbage..Costed me a tournament last year..Straightened out and broke them on 2 to 2 1/2 pound cookie cutter fish..I weighed the hooks on digital scales and most replacements are heavier but I finally found a Mustad that was actually slightly lighter and they work great

I myself don’t worry about lites because I always have a backup. Only times I worry are when I only have one of that bait👍
Why can you add a substance as dense as lead but you can’t use a heavier hook ?

I have NEVER had to modify a Rapala Husky Jerk out of the box. OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE at an UNBELIEVABLE PRICE! I'll stick with Rapala jerkbaits.
