I'd personally like to see videos on all the series (like this one) and after you go through the putters, mids, fairways, and drivers first.... put in your bag what you like and play actual rounds with them.
The a series are the best approach discs on the market. Their mid range line is really good. I’m not really a distance driver player yet but I’ve heard good and bad. Good fairways too but I’m not as experienced
This is a great format to review all of Prodigy's lineup. Would love to see you do this style video for each of the PA, M, F, H, and D series. Then do a video explaining which made the bag, which didn't, and why each did or didn't fit your bag.
I'm a huge A series fan, and I can weigh in on the difference between A1 and A2. The bead on the A1 helps slow it down and makes it skip less. On grassy courses like this vid, the A2 is fine but when you get in sandy/leafy/hard pack areas, the skip on that thing can get out of control. The bead helps there. Also, once the A2 beats in a little you can get a surprising amount of distance out of it. The A1 doesn't have that happen quite as much. If you compare a beat in A2 vs your A1 the differences will be a little more visible. Love the vid series, can't wait for the rest!
Glad someone said it! I switched to the A1 for this reason. It’s also important to find the ‘right’ one for you, I look for flat 750’s and there’s a pretty noticeable difference when you throw the domey ones.
I'm totally with you on the A4 and would love to see a separate video! 400G A4 is money and imo fills the "Zone SS" slot better than the A5 does, plus as an A3 guy, I love having the A3/A4 combo in the bag for the similar hand feel (and the whistle lol). Maybe you can convince Prodigy to get it back in production lol
The A5 is absolutely goated. It is one of the best discs to throw 200-250' forehand lasers. People love their beat in base plastic harps and zones but the A5 does that out of the box. Plus a fresh A5 doesn't care about flip points like a beat in base zone would, the A5 just goes straight. It's such a good disc MVP had to copy it with the Tempo two years ago.
Yo! As someone who throws Prodigy, I love that you’re doing this to bring forth more of the truth behind how solid some of their offerings are. Just wanted to make you aware they have discontinued the A4. That along with the X-series, DMax-series, D2pro, and Reverb. I also think the A4 was a great mold, but I wouldn’t commit the time and energy towards a mold that’s no longer being made. Particularly when the point of the series is to show where they are now. Again, great videos and I appreciate that you’re bringing Prodigy to light.
I like these episodes. It gives me new thoughts on my bag and what i throw DGA with a sprinkle of discraft(ZoneOS). for approach DGA could use a few more so the mids in their lineup play a more crucial role, not to mention fantastic molds too :-). The Quake beats up to that perfect str8 shot after time
(Some) people don’t realize the bead on the disc isn’t just for feel… although it’s a factor for some players. Dunipace said it best when he explain that a beaded disc will hold its stable integrity longer. So if you like to “beat in” a disc to a seasoned straighter flight… don’t choose a beaded disc. If you like a reaction to hold and NOT change much over time… choose beaded.
Prodigy is awesome for promoting your video prodigy was who I first started throwing when I got into disc golf a few years ago there naming system helped me learn
Great timing Broderic! Just purchased earlier today an A3 500 from used bin. Tried it once like year ago and liked the smaller diameter and stability. Love your content. Keep doing what you’re doing! ❤ One content idea for future cinema (if you haven’t done it already) : 1 on 1 with two manufacturers discs CUP -> for example two similar / old companies discs head to head (example 16 manufacturers = 8 battles, winner goes to next phase). Courses could be 9 holes, so it doesn’t take ages to film. Bonus: only four discs / manufacturer: 1putter/midrange/fairway/distance. Obviously the most versatile molds, but only one disc per speed category. Would love to see obvious group stage battles between Innova and Discraft (’cause those are og ofcourse) and then again some newer companies like mvp vs. tsa, etc. Then which brands gets to final 8, you raffle playoff doubles and so on. 😅 Bonus bonus: to engage followers, ask us viewers (especially with smaller frisbee companies), what disks should you use in this cup. Just use UA-cam quiz(es), and 4 most voted discs per speed slot goes to your bag. Hard to explain with broken english, but you get the idea, right! Feel free to use and remember me 😊
Agree that the A4 is a cheat code. Absolutely loved my 400 A4. Was board flat and just flew dead straight. I actually lost it at Ivy Hill in the water on Hole 17 about 2 years ago. But just recently someone found it and turned it into Foundation. They contacted me and shipped it back to me. So I've been reunited with it, but unfortunately haven't been able to get out and throw it again yet. Can't wait to do so though.
This is great, I love to see the side by sides. The one thing I wish you did differently was just to either say, or show on screen what discs you were throwing. Either way, awesome series!
When I was throwing a lot of prodigy the A2/A5 combo was goated. My favorite of the A series is the A3. I’ve chained out from 150ft several times with it. It felt like I couldn’t miss, but If I did I was inside 20ft every time. I switched to throwing all gyro because of how consistent I can get the flight I want out of mvp discs, but prodigy will forever hold a place in my heart 😂
Nailed it when you talked about beating up the A series to match a mid range. My A3 is super beat up and now flies almost identical to a Pyro or Caiman.
I've been throwing the A3 for quite some time and I'll tell you the A3 is a great scramble disc, pan's great on a tomahawk throw and what a lot of people sleep on is the consistency on a forehand roller. Yeah, and all of mine made a whistle out of the box.
I will sing the A3's praises til the day I die! I'd already been bagging one when I picked up a Ti Swirl Zone to see if the hype was legit. I got nearly identical flights from both doing field work, but the low profile of the A3 was what I was used to and felt better to forehand. I traded that zone the next day and bought two other A3s as back ups. A3 for life!
As e newbie to prodigy the names and flight numbers is sometimes confusing. So adding that on the video would be appreciated. And also, which one was the best for that chop anhyzer forehand pan out/flex shot? I got a little bit lost😂
PA=Putt and Approach, A=Approach, M=Midrange, F=Fairway, D=Driver, H=Hybrid between fairway and driver, FX and MX=Faster fairways and mids. Then higher the number, more stable. Example is A1 most stable A5 least stable.
Some discs are simply meant to have sharper acute angles and sometimes this can be felt on some designs more than others. Flashing is completely different. There can be flashing on blunt objects. Flashing is literally a bad trimming process on a parting like or acute angle. Or a mold that’s wearing out. Yes a disc like the Valkyrie can be pretty bad and sharp on some more than others. But that bottom part of the discs rim is designed to be a pointier acute angle. I still smooth mine some for comfort, but I also understand that’s how Dave designed it.
I have a 300 A2 in my bag that's beat in that I rip for 250-300 shots where I need over stability. A 500 A2 for just beef approach shots, a 500 A3 is my zone + it fuckin whistles which is awesome, and I have an 400 a5 which replaced my envy. Prodigy's approach series is unmatched.
If you love a straight approach disc and love the feel of an A5. Please try a 300 soft A5. They fly like 4/4/-1/1. Actually, maybe don't... save some for me. :D
I have a spectrum A2 (signed by Isaac himself), and a 400 A5 and a very beaten up 300 A5. The 400 A5 is somewhat overstable, while the beaten in one is laser straight. Basically a putter but with 40 feet extra on it. It's a great point and shoot disc.
That first run of A5 was a Chinese run. They’re fine, but I’d recommend getting a USA one. The “first run” and old stock stamp ones are the ones from China. Anything other than those is USA
The A4 is really the only A series I like. It’s more a short mid then an approach disc in its flight which is great. Only thing is that it has bit too much ground play for the wooded rocky courses I play. Shame its getting so much hate for the hand feel. It’s interesting because its edge and feel is so similar to the discraft sol, which is generally quite liked. It’s like the beefier brother of the sol.
Keep doing the specific categories. It’s easier to follow. I have a 750 A4 that I want to put in my bag but couldn’t find a spot. Maybe I need to look at the os mid And compare those. Also my RPM Kea whistles. I thought it was chunked but couldn’t find anything 😂
I love the A5 but the A2 is definitely faster so I looked up the rim thickness/width. The A5 is 1.2 cm rim thickness whereas the rest of the A series is 1.4 cm. A2 and A5 combo is goated
I have trouble deciding between the A2 and A3, the A2 i probably like better overall but the A3 I have 2 forehand aces with, they’re both great and fly similar any advice ?
400 A5 (with -1 -1 on it)... My first ace. Had to hang it on the wall cause I'm scared to lose it. I agree with you they flight straight with a consistent fnish.
I could be wrong but I think they discontinued the A4 recently among other molds. I'm a lone star ranger team guy. We get about as much crap as prodigy does. I've bagged all prodigy before and both are highly underrated and hated on for no reason especially if someone has never tried them before
I definitely think the A3 looks amazing but I don’t really want to support a company that gets their discs manufactured in china. When I have innova, discraft, and MVP plus all their smaller companies that get discs from them all in the US. I don’t mind some Discmania stuff but I don’t think I’ll ever buy prodigy unless they would move production entirely.
One of the big problems is that all of the disks that had bad flashing (2020 era), are still sitting in the stores. Prodigy, if they can afford it, needs to buy back those disks with sharp flashing and turn them into reblends.
I'd personally like to see videos on all the series (like this one) and after you go through the putters, mids, fairways, and drivers first.... put in your bag what you like and play actual rounds with them.
Prodigy needs you on payroll. I usually never consider them, but I’m loving these vids.
The a series are the best approach discs on the market. Their mid range line is really good. I’m not really a distance driver player yet but I’ve heard good and bad. Good fairways too but I’m not as experienced

Love the A5. Bag a 400 and a very beaten in 300. Great approach discs.

I LOVE THE A4. That disk is amazing. I use it for approaches and mid distance shots.
This was a great video idea! I really love the "bag this company" idea! Keep it going!
I like the vibe of this video for sure.
Brod, this series is money. Please keep working with manufacturers to take this series as far as you can.
Dig the format. Keep the structured videos for the beginning and end of the series
(Some) people don’t realize the bead on the disc isn’t just for feel… although it’s a factor for some players. I like the format of throwing each series, especially out of the box and then maybe one after rhe 30 days
I love these series Brod. Keep em coming
Awesome format/series!! Would be incredible to see Broderic breakdown demo/reaction/analysis of Innova's complete lineup!!

So cool to see you at my first course. I still love throwing there as the chances of losing a disc are next to nill. So marshy this time of year

Would love to see some p model s talk. Super underrated

Bro, the first time I threw my a3, I had the same reaction to the whistle. It's loud as hell 😂
Love the content, keep up the great work bro.
300 Soft A5 is a revelation. Has not left my bag. Got a 400 A5 just to not throw the first one all of the time.
I've been throwing the A3 for quite some time and I'll tell you the A3 is a great scramble disc, pan's great on a tomahawk throw and what a lot of people sleep on is the consistency on a forehand roller. Yeah, and all of mine made a whistle out of the box.

ultra soft is goated already!
I bag the a2 a3 and the a5 and the a3 is definitely my furthest flying. Love it in 400 plastic but I might have to try it in the ultra soft as well.
Dear brod, prodigy newb here. I’m assuming a series stands for approach. Thanks. Got my metal flake ultra for Xmas. Solid disc!
I have the A5 prototype. It is my go to approach. My other option was a Pig. I’m really starting to like prodigy.
Mr Full flightin 250’ at the end my man
Was looking and just saw some first run A5s on Amazon 👀
That first run of A5 was a Chinese run. They’re fine, but I’d recommend getting a USA one. The “first run” and old stock stamp ones are the ones from China. Anything other than those is USA

I want to know with each series what would be the lineup you’d use to fill slots. Like is it A2 and A5 to cover your bases?

Does prodigy not have any straight or understable approach discs, or are those all in the PA series?
A5 beats in straight but none are out of the box flippy in A series
Guess ill layer up too. From an Eric to a brodEric thanks for the input and videos. AI isn't able to do these videos. Yet
I would like to know what discs in a and p series that would compare to other discs (discmania, innova, or MVP)
What's up big Dogg, enjoying the content. Cheers
i bag 3 A2s 1 a3 1 or 2 a5's depending on course
in need to try and A1!
If you do this style of video for each line that would be dope!
Väinö's A2 400 glimmer and LHs A5 750 Spectrum are money 💰
option #1 did sound good and structured.
Best part about the a3 is that it whistles sometimes when you throw it.

For the first time, I'm considering buying Prodigy discs.
Problem with having the 4 a's I have Trouble separating them,.they are a must for forehand dominant players, handle the heat bigtime
Didn’t the a4 get discontinued?
Are you wearing pf flyers?
I want to throw more prodigy and I like this format
try a 300 soft or 200 plasic a2
Yo brod. I just bought the new A5 400glow supersoft. That disc is money, would be cool to see your take
a1 for backhand, a2 for forehand
Only the good ones whistle.
Ya gotta love the A3 / A4 whistle.
I’m trying to lock in on a camo Frisbee Club hat asap 👀 Where are those at??
I went to my local shop today. Basically every prodigy had flashing, sooooooooo, i didnt buy a prodigy disc lol
I like it, a lot of flight examples. Trying to add more structure to the video just makes the video harder to make.
I don’t understand the flights on these because they don’t seem to follow their naming system too well.
Also, prodigy needs to bring back 400g.
I like this format for the series but since you are chucking a whole stack of discs, please make say which disc you are throwing.
the A4 is discontinued
This series feels like a punishment. No person should ever throw Prodigy.
If you haven’t thrown their a series are you even playing frolf bro.
