It is possible that Innova wanted Jerm to stay. Just a normal business in professional sports and even normal employments. You go to a job interview and asking salary might be too high or offer too low and contract is not signed. Not necessary any drama or weird stuff behind these decisions.

Think the thing people gotta prepare for is, the second Jerm is done full-time touring (which may well be this year), there is no reason not to shake up commentary. Uli aint it and there's surely some efficiency in having the same commentators live and post-produced, etc. I think the option people might be missing isnt Jerm going MVP or Discraft, it might be Jerm going "Charlotte retailer" or "clothing supplier" or like, TSA and tons of custom stamps (since thats already his passion), where he doesnt need the Innova middle-man to make money on tour stuff and where moving 5k custom discs is the same profit to him as moving 25k tour discs.
Every practice round after doing commentary for the DDO he found a way to insert wanting to do more. It wouldn't surprise me if that happens this coming season or next season that he is doing that instead of playing.

Distance isn’t the issue. The older you get, it gets tough to come out day after day and compete or practice. Body doesn’t heal as fast when you’re older. If it was a 2 round, same day tournament, then it wouldn’t be an issue. But to throw hard day after day, it’s just tough to compete with the young ones.

Exactly. This is what lot of people don't understand. Looks like they keep some of the older players beause they have modest salary or contract more heavily towards disc sale incentives. Not a bad idea to take some younger talents since they don't cost much and some of them might break through. Disc sales is down from covid years and I think lot of players ask too much because either they made a good contract e.g. in 2021 or they compare their offers to contracts signed by other players in 2021. Contracts created by then based on disc sales that time are not really comparable because sales is lower so how can company who sells less pay more. Prodigy is a good example of this.
"Innova knows how to promote." No, they really dont. Because they *have* done active promotion, and its some aging stoner looking dude explaining discs, instead of the literal faces of their brand. I mean, for YEARS this was the case (I got into the sport in 2017 and saw this through til they finally let Nate be the face of their beginner series in like....2022? aka, WAY too late for the COVID boom crowd). I should associate Nate and Jerm with Innova the way I do Paul with Discraft now (and the fact I dont deeply associate Paul with Innova tells you how bad their marketing was before), and if I go to Innova's UA-cam/Insta/etc, I'll see more Dave than I will of them. What Innova has is a great contract with big box stores. Reliable production that fuels that, I'd bet. And some truly great molds and plastics. As Prodigy has shown, it doesnt take too long a period to go from solid foundation to failing. Discraft or MVP takes those Walmart/Dicks/etc contracts, Innova has a problem real fast. Cause they certainly dont have a (non-Calvin) MPO touring team to speak of. And with Jerm gone and Nate a regional player, they dont have much of a fall back

I think Innova knows the future of disc golf isn't a pro's name on discs. Pickle ball doesn't use a pro league to sell the best paddles. I support a disc golf pro league to the end of time, but if all pro leagues suddenly ended tomorrow disc golf and Innova would still survive.

This idea that you have to be effective and deliver information as fast as possible without a natural breath, will at least for me, make it harder to receive all your information. Overall its a compressed feeling when you talk and that makes it harder for me to listen. Otherwise as i said, interesting information.
I don’t know how Discraft is paying people when I see their discs sitting on shelves everywhere. No way this can last with the huge McBeth contract. Also, too many people are sponsored. There aren’t enough good players to be sponsored and want this money. There are maybe 10 players worth bigger money and like 30 worth supplemental income. My point is that I can’t name 40 players right now. Just because I like the sport and others do doesn’t mean the market is there for all this spending. Side note, I think the DGPT is the problem with disc golf currently. I don’t think it prompted right and I don’t think it’s a very viewer friendly sport realistically. They need to lean into video broadcasting way more and make the quality better. Ditch Terry and get a few real professionals to broadcast the program and then it may be able to survive.

And just because your area might not be a high selling area for it that doesn't mean that's how it is in the entire world. I live near the largest pro shop on the East Coast and they can't keep discraft in stock for more than a month
Who says Terry ain't a pro? Not saying he's top sports guy, but you have to know how he's there now. Terry paid his dues, before it got big, his love for the game, and doing what he does, He filmed rounds, and gave up competing. He wasn't that darn great, but he wasn't a sloch either. He drove hours for free, He spent his weekends so players could see, and there family. I mean when nobody was watching but few, no big purses, I thought he was amateur his first couple years doing broadcast, but he's gotten way better, and he knows the game. Terry just now getting comfortable at it, he might turn out to be the best at it. He will change, he's been changing. Philo, to me is best. Put him in booth. I think Terry is great on course, roaming groups. I think Tim from Michigan was first I seen, saying, I'm gonna start filming us, and he would. He was first guy I remembered.

There's like a 2% success rate of the content being funny on there. A lot of it just seems mean spirited, kind of like old Howard Stern where they'd bring people on just to make fun of them.
