FYI to anyone with the 06 it needs an 18mm socket for the spark plug. Others would not fit. Someone posted the repair kit with the ATV will have it. Maybe that's an 11/16 spark plug socket, but I bought a long 18mm socket and it came out.
Glad I watched your video. I was about to use regular (Mobile 1) synthetic oil. Didn't know that a special Honda oil was required. Guess I'll order the oil change kit like you did. Thanks!
@@TamarackRidge No sir but I will, I have a 1942 Dodge truck that is going to be my next project I just finished a 1959 Chevy Apache truck and I also have a 1948 1 ton hay hauler from Ohio, all have titles and in my name, I love old trucks and those old Dodges are co cool especially the body style you have, I have a small engine repair shop here in Mooresville N.C. and occasionally I get a ATV that I have to do a little You Tube research so that's how I came across your video, I was wanting to see if when checking the oil on the dip stick is it screwed in then checked or just placed in then pulled back out, I later found out from a local Honda dealer who said the correct way is to just place it back in do not screw in it will give the wrong oil level, thanks for taking the time to make videos you guys that do that are so helpful, I thought about doing some videos and posted them but this is the busy season and barley have time to watch a video much less produce one and hey you may appreciate this I have a 98 Harley springier and a 2008 Ultra classic and life behind bars ain't to bad after all !
@@timpope1221 cool stuff! I also have a 1971 mustang I got in a swap for a 65 t-bird. I got the mustang, my 2000 silverado daily driver, and a stop light. The mustang needs to go. I dont need a hotrod. I need a backhoe! :)
@@TamarackRidge If the shift motor is trying to shift into gear, but won't. It could be your shift reduction gears need the old grease cleaned out and fresh put in. Honda had a problem with the grease they use drying out and turning to a hard paste like in the electric shift gear reduction. I just done it on my 19 Rubicon, because the gears would hang in between shifts, would take multiple tries to get it into reverse during the cold season. I have noticed a HUGE difference already. It shifts smoother, quicker, and doesn't hang in between gears. Oh and there was supposed to be a washer behind the oil filter spring against the filter seal. (Not being a prick, just pointing that out) And that washer that was taped to the paper funnel was a new crush washer that goes on your oil drain plug. Honda recommends they be changed every oil change, that's why you were sent one. It is made of a soft material that provides a better seal between the drain plug and crankcase.I hope this helps.

Thanks for taking the time to show us mate 👍🏻
I believe that the dry sump needs to run then let stand a bit to get an accurate oil level reading. Hope your not one "Galupe" over the line ;-)
I just changed it again this year. Didn't count the galupes this year. thanks for watching:)
How do you empty the coolant to put in new one? thank you
Important not to overfill the oil as otherwise you risk getting clutch slip.
The washer is for the drain plug
Love that old Dodge !!
