Durango & Silverton

Three days out of the year, the folks who operate the Durango Blues Train host specially-themed trains on the Durango & Silverton. With food, drinks, and the highlight being the full bands of live music playing while the steam-powered train makes its way up from Durango to Rockwood and return. Locomotive #473 was put in charge of these trains for the year and put on a spectacular show for the railfans chasing her up the hill. With the locomotive working hard, the beautiful golden hour, and the very enthusiastic passengers on board, this was probably the most fun I've had on a chase on the D&S. Thanks to my friends who were also chasing with me!
