Grew up with that rock in view out the window of the house we stayed in every year. Always wanted to go out on it. It fired my imagination looking exactly like a fantasy castle out there!

Beautiful video but boy was I scared for your drone. Flying far out over the ocean. If something went wrong your drone could have fallen into the ocean. I’m glad it made it for this beautiful video.

I heard a story from my aunt who I visited on the coast once that the reason it’s called castle rock is because a king trapped his daughter on it after seeing a boy he disapproved of. I wanted to look more into it but there wasn’t anyone else talking about it.

Hi! Great video! Do you know if the two smaller rocks closer to shore (towards the end of the vid) have names?

The one farthest left is Tillamook lighthouse or Terrible Tilly. The ones closest to shore are "3 finger jack" rock formation there's 3 main rocks and a smaller cluster that extends towards the shore.
Tillamook lighthouse is about 133 ft total above sea level. The "3 finger jack" consists of the tallest rock at approx 85 ft. then 48 ft and the 3rd at 25 to 30 ft. they can also been seen from farther up north on the south jetty 20 miles north towards Astoria and the mouth of the Columbia river.
According to earth curvature they should be behind a 162 refracted / 192 non-refracted feet of curved earth and water. 8 inch per mile squared at 20 miles for a 6 ft viewer height.
      nice footage
