@ahhig0 it is common on subs that are constructed that way, including my infinities, that the magnet is encased in the steel basket that supports the cone as well. if you look again, you'll see that the "solid" part of the support basket is almost four inches thick, because the magnet is in it. i do believe that should also shield the magnetic field from outside devices, which can't hurt.
love the walmart steering wheel cover haha ... I have that sub setup and its pretty good ... and its now for a good price ... like less then 300 without amp just for box and 2 subs ... great start kit ro for someone like me just having a sub not to show off but to listin to toons while cruzin
to be honest i had the "little brother" of this,it was awsome except 1 thing that the bass was like brrrr on all frequency...i mean...according to that it was just 300wRMS it was banging the shit out,but now i have my unique 6th order bandpass with two 12" eminence kappa pro(also customized 4ohm imp...etc) both 500wRMS well...that is way to much for music...even the single 1204BP,but my new sub does 143db kicked with 750wRMS...kills.anyway...i love the GTO1204,the box itself is genious... I want to buy the sub u have but i have 1 question should your car being on start while listening to it bkoz one of my frd told me that your battery with 5 mins wiz this sub if your car is off!!! Is that true????? and does your light become dim while playing it????

why don't you turn the woofers in the other side that will make you see the front not the back ?
No its not, the enclosure is just made so well that it performs to the max
