Ohhhh maaan... thaaaaaaaannks comments like that is what really keeps me making more videos too... kinda cool thinking that something we do in one side of the world can inspire someone so far thousands of kilometres across the globe...
@Andrew52tx and @Allan Reid hearing this is inspiring me here to always be posting more and more videos... I have lots of Surron stuff to post and will make a few videos showing the LMX161 with Nucular controller and the battery I just made recently instagram.com/p/CAFzWHsAYrP/?igshid=1hkdpe4825v7q
Hahaha yeah... such a complicated setup everything adapted just to work on an ebike... not perfect but kinda fun now looking back all the weird stuff hahahaha
I remember looking at some kits like that back in the days, everything was very complicated with chains, need to make your own battery, fit in bags, tape to the frame or handlebar. Nice to see someone reviewing this stuff nowadays and teaching us as usual
Hahahaa yeah that handlebar battery was just classic... kinda funny nowadays how ridiculous it looked haha... yeah I also remember looking at this GNG kit and like “wooowww belt drive, that must be such low maintenance” BS... hahahahaa
This has inspired me to resurrect my Astro 3220 on Intense M6 bike. It was my Opus magnum of the day. Now hanging on the wall of my shed like a old painting
Wooooooowww you have an Astro 3220 hanging on the wall... some people would give so much money for that =] Yeah this bike in the video wasn’t the greatest setup, far from perfect but the guy wanted to bring it back to life. Really nice to have something like that to show people how everything started... Linda like showing a typewriter to a child... everything was so difficult back then.... hahahaa
This is exactly the system that i thought about building back in the days when there were no, commercially available parts. Same system with the crank having "free coast". Nice vid ;) Crazy how much simpler it is now and how easy it is to get parts.
Yeeeahhh... double chain, freewheel here, freewheel there, tensioners, belt, custom mounting brackets to fit your frame, HANDLEBAR BATTERY hahaha classic old school... used to be Multistar Lipos inside but the guy didn’t want that extra drama... yeah crazy how simple things are nowadays in comparison!! This is why I made this video so people can see how painful it used to be... hahaaaa =]
Hahahahahhaa yeaaahh such a CLASSIC setup... kinda glad to revive such old school bike and keep it in its original form, reminded me sooooo much stuff and made me appreciate more what we have available today... Oldie but Goldie hahahaa ohhh yeaahh
Hahaaaa yeeeeeaahhh mate... love when I get messages like that, I’m glad you’re loving it too haha.... it makes you feel like super man with the strongest legs in the world right? Hahahahaa soooo much POWEEEEEEEERRR ohhh yeaahh =]
@@BrunoPOWEEER More like superman on steroids lol. I have done more miles on my BBSHD in the lase 3 years then I ever did in over 30 years on a normal cycle :D
Hahahahahaa I know... people say that ebike is for the lazy... these people are only going for a few laps on their bike and then drive to work, drive everywhere... ebike becomes your main transportation, we go EVERYWHERE riding.. we get a LOT more exercise done than most cyclists out there =]. Just out of curiosity, how many miles on your BBSHD? Any mechanical problem? Have you ever opened to service or lubricate? I love to know these things
@@BrunoPOWEEER I am on my third controller and i had to replace the PAS circuit board. I have once re-greased the units internals. I still have issue where when I turn the power on, My battery meter drops down to 0V for a moment then builds up to full voltage. Not sure how many miles, Well over 2k, My area has many steep hills and I often take some pretty rough terrain.
build my first simple ebike in 2015, 350w 48v controller 44.4v battery 20ah and a 36v 250w wheel. it ran about 35 kmph, good enough for home work traffic.
still runs, just not often, my main bike has a 1.5kw 48v wheel, 52v battery 20ah and an 1.5kw 48v controller, it runs over 50kmph, it has not enough suspension for me to go any faster lol.
I wasn't expecting this to go that fast and handle almost 2kW😱 it's crazy!!!! Things are so much simpler now, I wish I started building ebikes then (but like I was 9 so not really plausible) I'd love to see other videos like this one!!!! POWEERRRRR
Yeeeeaaahhh I was expecting something closer to 350w then I saw the meter 1600w something and was like WOOOOOOOWWWW... hahaha old toys but still kicks ass... too much power the belts can’t handle Hahahahahaa... chainsaw sound hahahaha
Bruno was my inspiration to build Ebikes. i now have a scott gambler dh20 2008 cyclone 6kw middrive top speed unknown arounde 110 kmh goes on wheel at 35 kmh 20s 7p samsung 30q mountet under the frame nice low gravaty the bike handles so nice white the 5 kg motor and the 7kg battery mounted low
Listen: 1) Install a new tiny nucular controller 2) Build a new lithium battery pack 3) Change the little gear to a bigger one with more teeth and you won't have problems with the belt anymore. If you do all the above steps you will convert this ebike to a new age night rider weapon and you will be able to charge it without all the external connectors!!!!!
Yeaaahhh would’ve definitely do all the upgrades above for sure, I actually suggested revamping all the electrical, new battery and fixing that belt drama but... the owner likes keeping the bike original old school (even keeping the old school problems) haha... he’s got many bikes so this is kinda a display casual bike, definitely not the one he rides everyday... maybe to show his kids “hey, eBikes used to be like that” hahaha
Cool video I just got myself a Bafang BBSHD kit with a 52volt battery (I'm just waiting on the battery) and it's going on a Specialized fat bike and I'm looking forwards to riding some trail's up in the blue mountains as I'm turning 50 this year and I'm trying to get healthy in my young age 😊 and some cycling might just get me there even if I am cheating a bit cheers and stay safe.
You know if he made that idle pulley bracket longer he could get it to wrap more around that tiny motor cog which might get it by the belt stripping problem.
