RioGrandeExplorations.net TSR #201 has been repainted and re-letter to it's original appearance as Texas & Pacific #316. GM Earl Knoob initiated this project.
Thanks for sharing this great video. I wanted to ride this train but was out of pocket. I'm grateful you got all these excellent shots. The T&P 316 sure is a beauty.
316 is such a beautiful engine! That bit at the end pushing 610 into the shed was intense - I imagine that as being the sort of thing that I'd always want to try if I were on the crew, but would never actually get the chance to.
Wait a minute! Didn't Earl Knoob work at the Nevada Northern before? He is shown on the movie "Ghost Train" as the engineer when they run Nevada Northern #40 for the first time in decades.
0:55 I hope someone remembered to open the Drip-Oiler on the Crosshead Guide before they started that excursion run, otherwise she's gonna need some new crosshead slippers!
Yes, T&P #316 was once painted as TSR #201. After the rebuild in 2012, she was painted back to her proper colors and number. Likewise, TSR #300 is back to being SPL #28 and TSR #400 is MAR #7. The TSR is finally getting rid of the goofy paint jobs and painting its' equipment in a dignified manner.
