@Akherash Yeah, nobody said anything. They haven't said anything about making or not making a sequel. They have another movie in the works, so it's best to wait till 2020-2021 for an update.
Alita 2! Alita 2! Alita 2! Alita has made $404 mil worldwide at the box office on a $170 mil budget, so close to break-even. Hopefully, the 4K/blu-ray sale and the demands from the expanding fanbase will be able to convince the studio (now Disney) to finance a prequel/sequel. Haven't seen a movie so powerful and yet refreshing since a long, long time ago.
That's an impressive VFX Breakdown, the comparison with the manga panels and the explosion off the bodies with the details from the inside are just fantastic. Could be used as an 3D demo clip. I hope my Blu-Ray arrives soon and we get a Sequel (although I highly doubt it)
Truly amazed seeing this in imax. The integration of VFX and real set / actors was beyond anything else I've seen. Stunning. Also, roller skating aside, the movie is shot for shot in line with the anime. A hugely underrated movie!
The one thing that made this movie for me besides the awesome task of making ALITA (adaption) was ALITAS micro facial movements. So real, muscle movements create a more emotional ride than the orginal. Weta as always pushing the envelope! I sent my showreel in 1996 (wasssup)
The closest thing to that is VFX artist reacts to CGI by corridor crew UA-cam channel. Check it out. It's really fascinating how they broke down and fix movie CGI in some of the videos.
Each layer builds onto the one below it. To make it believable, they have to figure out how a cyborg body would be built, and go from there, so each layer interacts with the next, so even though we'll never see it, it makes it all the more realistic
The best work from WETA yet. Absolutely spectacular. The integration between animation and live action is the best that has ever been done, wish more people would understand or appreciate how groundbreaking this was. Look forward to what you can do in Alita 2!
the source material inspired the passions of many great artists to create this movie which is a work of art, and the world they created has become the inspiration for my own projects now, Ive bought the artbook and the movie on digital, any other art materials they release ill happily devour!
Great job guys. Best anime to live action adaptation ever! Hopefully you're able to bring more classics to life. Japanese anime is a treasure trove of epic stories aching to go mainstream
I really love Weta Digital's work. I honestly want to work with them in the future. I started 3D modeling and animation four years ago, though my college doesnt offer any classes. Still, I hope to be in that workspace one day.
I swear, after watching Alita, other films I watch after this couldn’t make the cut for me. This film just raised my standards and I can’t wait for a sequel
Amazing crew. WETA absolutely killed it. :-) There is always just one scene that bugs me. When Alita and Grewishka had their first confrontation and he tries to hit her but she dodges and hits the wall. The rubble and dust looked pretty fake. But since you are looking on Alita how she gracefully leaps you are not looking too much on it.
fucking amazing. Thanks to have finally brought an awesome heavy CGI movie that hasn't a dumb pathetic storyline like the 99% of the movies have right now.
I'm getting goosebumps just watching this. In terms of creating cyborg bodies with realistic anatomy and engineering, Weta digital really sets the bar high. Hope "26th Century Fox" won't keep me waiting too long for the sequel(s). They did say there will be 4 Avatar sequels coming out every other year starting 2021.
U guys are the best in the world. I would love to see manga/anime adaptation movie with Weta again, maybe something like Trigun with cyberpunk wild west style.
This shows why Weta Digital are the greatest FX company today, they put so much detail into the cyborg bodies that we're never going to see, but each layer builds on the next to make it more believable
I had like a sixth sense that this movie will be out of this world, so I booked 3D tickets for it (something I rarely do) and boy, was I right! 10/10, VFX are outstanding, story and setting are excellent, everything is perfect! I hope we get a sequel(s)!
01:51 to 02:18 is by far the craziest and most perfect thing I have ever seen in my life.. Look at the level of detailing.. Still didn't understand why this movie didn't make atleast half a billion at boxoffice.. Strongly want to watch the sequel..
ILM may be the granddaddy of VFX companies, but Weta Digital makes the most photorealistic VFX I've ever seen. I mean, Alita looks so fucking convincing and Rosa Salazar's performance shines through.
Why they made alita i feel very sad when hugo died, my eyes was wet when hugo says thank you for saving my life and hugo fell alita shouts nooo it was really intense scene i hope upcoming part will have satisfy ending i gave movie 10/10 rate
I couldn’t believe how quickly this movie came and went, I was struggling to find a cinema near me that showed it in 3D, cuz it was made to be seen that way, we tracked one down in a neighbouring city, and was just getting a posse organised on a day when we were all free, when it left cinemas. It must only have been around for about 2 weeks. Oh well, roll on the blu ray I guess.
I sincerely hope this movie gets a sequal. Really enjoyed watching this.
Apparently it didn't do well enough the star said it's not happening
AceOvrZero It did good, seeing how much they made and physicals doing good.
@Akherash Yeah, nobody said anything. They haven't said anything about making or not making a sequel. They have another movie in the works, so it's best to wait till 2020-2021 for an update.
There is no sequal Manga its the whole Story.
Breakdown at 1:50 is lit af !
Awesome work by Vitaly Bulgarov and all the people at Weta.
Yeah, it's almost too shameful that it didn't make it in the movie itself/
@@bohdan_lvov if it made.into the movie it wouldn't make any sense. Like why would parts be flying off her body?
@@surya_0x0 yup, that's only good reason why it didn't make it.
ALTHOUGH it could be a great bit in the credits.
@@bohdan_lvov I agree and they should show VFX breakdowns at during the credits of every movie. People should know how tough it is to make CGI stuff.
It's incredible how much details was put into it, even things we never actually see in the movie, everything was modelized.
This movie should've won the Oscar for best vfx! I mean: all the crew, from Joe Letteri to the last-hired intern did an astonishing job!
Alita 2! Alita 2! Alita 2!

I’m so in love with this movie! It’s just unbeliveable!
Same!!!! I can never get enough!
Shitty cheesy movie and u have a cheap taste
One of the best movies of this year. Stunning FX work.
Fahim Jaowad Sam
It should also get an award for Best Actress for Rosa Salazar.
Zapan's effects are astonishing. Compliments to your crew!
I see what you did there.
@@TimJBucci You do?
@@niijigod3864 Vector quote, when Hugo acquired the Grind-Cutters for him.
@@TimJBucci Oh okay thanks
This is by far the BEST CGI I have ever seen in my life. The movie was an instant hit with me.
@1:52 So much detail that we never actually see. The inner workings of their cyborg bodies were so cool to see.
Just done watching Alita re-release in the theaters. What a spectacular masterpiece! Still love it as much as day 1 viewing.
Simply the best CGI ever seen in the movies!
This movie is phenomenal
That's an impressive VFX Breakdown, the comparison with the manga panels and the explosion off the bodies with the details from the inside are just fantastic.

@@goodmind4940 The movie didn't do that good at the Box Office.
@@xyoxus $400 million to an estimated $170 million budget isn't bad. Besides, James Cameron is involved and he has massive sway in the industry.

It didn't even get nominated, sadly.
Absolutely incredible work

the movie was shoot on imax in mind 1.43:1 or 1.90:1 in other words 16:9 , the movie feels alive u can feel more the world u feel more immersive
