- Опубліковано 27 чер 2022
- This is a video on the new Sony PlayStation themed gaming monitor built by Sony under it's Inzone gaming brand. This is one of two gaming monitors coming out, the M9 which is a 4K IPS monitor with 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, full array local dimming zones and much more besides.
In this video I'm talking to you about the various highlights of this monitor, the interesting specs and my few complaints about it.

Features of the Inzone M9 monitor:
Aimed at "heavy shooters" - FPS players
Full Array Local Dimming means more lights behind - 96 local dimming zones on the 4K model
Exclusive features for PlayStation 5 - including:
Auto HDR Tone Mapping - allows the PS5 and monitor to communicate to each other and set local dimming levels to match specs of the monitor in use. So in other words the HDR settings would be different if you're using the FHD (HDR400) or the 4K monitor (HDR600). You can change HDR settings manually, but this auto tuning makes life easier for gamers. This is already on Bravia televisions
Auto Genre Picture Mode - the monitor switches into Game Mode when gaming, meaning lower input lag. But when you're watching films or Netflix, it'll switch into Cinema Mode which has a more expressive picture.
Then there are features you won't find on TV:
FPS game picture mode - which adjust brightness and contrast to make it easier to see enemies
Black Equaliser - which exposes shadows and enemies hiding in the dark
Cross hair - OSD crosshair
Frame rate counter - so you can check the game is running smoothly
Timer - let you know how long you've been playing - pitched for knowing when a circle is shrinking in battle royale games or to know how long you've been streaming for
PC software, so you can change the settings on the monitor via software rather than via hardware buttons
These also work with the Inzone headsets so you can actually sync picture modes with sound profiles and you can set these to launch with specific games too.
KVM switch so you can connect the monitor to two different PCs, but then use the switch so you can control two different PCs with the same keyboard and mouse
178 degree viewing angles
DisplayPort is the cable to use for the highest Hz (144Hz on 4k vs 120Hz with HDMi)
Built in speakers = Two x 2 watts speakers
Highlights for me:
Superb visuals
Smooth gaming experience
Lowlights:
No cables included

I’m loving Sony’s approach, their synergy between PlayStation and PC looking nice! I’m about to pre order this monitor 👌
Good job mate - thorough review 👍
Thanks! 👍
Purchased this monitor when it was released and am using it with my PS5 and M1 MacBook Pro. So far I’m loving it except for some parts of the HDR. I say some parts because when watching movies and gaming in HDR, I notice the local dimming (when set to high) causing the image to exhibit haloing that looks different from what I’ve seen in other Sony LED backlight displays. This only happens in a pitch black room with no bias lighting but it’s actually kinda distracting. To the point where I feel like turning local dimming to low is a better option with HDR content. I find it’s most noticeable with contrasty HDR movie scenes but when you know what to look for it’s noticeable with pretty much all HDR content. You get haloing in the form of squiggly white lines that move around frame depending where highlighted objects/subjects are in the frame. Not sure if it’s just my panel but given that the monitor has none of the screen defects people have been posting online about, I want to say I have a solid panel. Just wondering if anyone can add to this discussion. I love this monitor and if this is a normal backlight consequence on a 27 inch screen, I’m willing to put up with it. But if it’s a defect, then I feel like I should swap it out while the return window is still good. Thanks all 🤘🏼
did u return it?
Nice vid and nice to see Sony enter the gaming peripheral world. Sad, the sound is not that good. Sony provide good speakers in their TV so... Do you also plan to make a review on their new Headset H3, H7 or H9? Keep up the good work!
Sadly they've not offered. So I doubt it.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Yeah undertsand. Those Headsets are expensive $250 for the H7 and $300 for the H9. Maybe they offer later. I did not saw so much review yet...
@@OlicheckGamingTech the embargo only lifted yesterday. I don't think Sony sent them out soon enough 🤷♂️
Thanks for the video. When the monitor is slid all the way down to its lowest setting on the stand, what is the measurement from the bottom of the display to the desk?
What bracket would I need to mount this monitor to a stand for my desk?
Hi awesome video! I have a question. I just bought my inzone m9 and I have a problem when I connect it with my Pc. While I’m playing a game or on the web browser it sometimes scans for signal. How can I stop that from doing that?
Any idea if that usb c port has power delivery of any kind? Would love to connect this to my 14in MBP and have it charge it instead of having to buy a thunderbolt dock to connect this too
15w…not much
The auto display mode is the worst I’ve ever used . I hope it just a software problem that can be updated .
Can you do more detail on the pc hdr performance ?
Glad Sony Join The Fray in Monitor Gaming Market
update it to m008, i had this black screen too and it stopped with the update
Hello! NICE channel! I'm a big fan of you +👍🔔
Thanks and welcome
Wish it had glossy panel it might make me cancel an eve spectrum but that stand design is unlike Sony age you think of their tv staves etc
I have the glossy pre ordered as well. I’ve heard it’s a pain to get a refund.. I feel more confident in actually getting the monitor from Sony, but I really want that nice glossy screen. I also wish they made the new Samsung odyssey Neo g8 in 27”. So many new interesting monitors
@@rykerswensen5275 Social media and patience, or chargeback but be mindful of 4 month rule … I’m not cancelling unless someone else comes out with a glossy panel, ridiculous nobody else does a glossy panel though
Dis might not be about the monitor but I have a question I am building a pc which liquid cooler is better Corsair h510i elite cappelix or nzxt z73/z73 rgb
Sorry I meant to reply to this. Z73 is my fave.
Really nice. A 32" would have been sweet. Might get this one for Christmas. The stand though, it's ugly. I wouldn't mind if it were black. And it would've been nice if its a docking station.
Wdym by docking station? It does have pd, usb ports and a lan port
Looks promising..
It surprised me tbh
When you were trying to put the thing in the front you can just push the montior back.... Even you said you don't play games like that so just push it back there so much desk behind the montior
And then you're too far away from the monitor because it's tiny.
@@TheProvokedPrawn but you just said you don't play that close I'm so confused lol
Would a DisplayPort 1.4 work better on PS5 than an HDMI 2.1? Or can you not even use a DisplayPort on PS5?
Don't think any console has a DP
@@reySRB ok thank you
I have tv for 4K….picking up the m3 day one.
Is your TV 144Hz?
better m6, 1080p its to old for gaming, or qhd with 120+hz its new standart
Pretty much an arm is required for this monitor.
It's for playstation/pc gamers. The problem is 4k at 27" makes no sense. Secondly you can get an LG oled. It's also not 10 bit colour. Let me guess you can't tell the difference and its calibrated.
It does make sense more pixels on a smaller screen is hard to do and looks amazing
42" or even bigger is way too huge to fit on a desk and use as a display for your PC unless all you do is game like 2 meters away from the screen
From my understanding 27 and up u see a difference in 4k, 24 and under you dont
@@Legenkilla you can notice the difrience of 300ppi screen, 27 is 160 ich , so its cool for 4k bc give you max ich and max quality, 24 will be a little small for expirience.
the stand is ugly, but if you vesa mount it it's a non issue
I think hdr mode is very bad on ps5 its keep searching for sources…
your pc specs bro ?
You can see them in this video ua-cam.com/video/AalcVGXpGZ8/v-deo.html
HDMI 2.1 ??????
Yes
@@TheProvokedPrawn thanks
I don’t like hdr just makes colors washed out
Bad hdr does for sure
still not an lg oled beater price performance id grab an oled
not everybody wants a 48" as a monitor
dude said PlayStation themed monitor for PC gamers. When you can use it for PC but in all reality it's clearly for PlayStation. LOL
A 1000 dollar for that hel na wtf sony burn it trow it put it in a holl pc gamers don’t want 144 2k monitor for a 1000 😂😂😂
I thought it was a bit of a crazy price tbh, but the visuals are great, it's one of the best 4K screens I've seen. A 1080p 240Hz version is coming too.
@@TheProvokedPrawn its well calibrated and good featured, plus its sony quality...no qc problem
You broke? 😂
@@TheProvokedPrawn the 1080p monitor is seriously overpriced as well. But that is for a niche market extreme competitive gamers.
It's 4k not 2k. and its actually $899 not $1000
The fact that he thinks that 27 inches is too small for PC gaming makes me question whether he is a PC gamer or not. Very few if any pro gamers play on 32 inch 4k monitors. That is a thing of console gamers. Critizing a 27 inch monitor for its size sounds kind of dumb.
Ok Mario, that's your opinion and this is mine. There's no need to be rude about it, but 49 inch ultra wide is king ua-cam.com/video/2iYUFCw1MHA/v-deo.html
You’re a clown…”pro gamer” 😂
Ultrawide exists? (which is mainly used on PC, bc consoles don't scale that well to the different resolutions)
sony releasing and marketing physical products to PC Gamers
oh man the betrayal the PS fanboys must be feeling🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It still has got features for ps5 id buy one if I had not bought a new monitor 3 months ago
They literally used to make whole PCs 🤦🏽♂️
Are you aware that Sony is producing a whole range of products (including PCs) for years?
It's like saying "The Xbox fanboys will be so mad that Microsoft is releasing PC products and games".
I don't think they care, at least they got exclusive games, unlike Xbox fanboys.
@@skyler4180 lol you mean the games coming to pc like spiderman and its sequel?
