I have a 2020 and my commute is 13 miles I charge it at home wen I get to the office plug it there and same thing all week best experience ever ... and best car I ever owned
I test drove a FULLY kitted-out 530e with the optional seats -- absolute heaven. The electric only mode was cool too. That being said I'd be more prone to get the 530i. I'm a bit scared of BMW constantly turning the engine on and off -- especially considering they have a LONG, LONG, LONG history of timing chain failures (even as recently as the last generation 4-banger -- the n20). Also, on the forums, there's seems to be a lot more buggieness in the 530e than the regular 5 series versions. So I'd probably lean more towards reliability than fuel savings. The fuel savings could VERY easily be negated by repair bills. True -- the newer BMWs seem to be a lot more reliable (my 2016 3-series has been very good as well), but I still don't have much faith in the "e" versions of their cars, long term. Finally, what would bug me about any hybrid is that the engine may be off while cruising around and only come on under heavier load. Which is GREAT -- EXCEPT the engine is stone cold -- and, therefore, you might be redlining it completely cold. I simply can't fathom how that would be good. And who doesn't want to floor their BMW? So, I love the 5 series, but I think I will very likely just get a regular version (530i or 540i).
If u like this one then ull love the new facelifted model of the 530e. It has a function called extraboost which gives u more than 100hp for tem seconds. Insane lol. Check out my review of it on my channel. And feel free to give me some feedback on how to improve my reviews :)
I dont get this car. You too bout "over the life span of the car" , however BMWs will only work for a Max of 3 years. This will not last long enough to see a savings. You lease these. Therefore no savings.
My personal 535i has been running trouble free since 2011. It’s a bit pessimistic to believe it will be game over after only 3 years. I agree that it takes a very specific customer to see any savings with this car, but it’s cool you get to park at the premium spots and drive in limited lanes :)

All your points are valid, and that is why I said that personally, I would love a 540i with that amazing B58 engine.
