You missed a pretty major part of the Ignition Unions accomplishment. It's the stormseyes description, where it says the Stormseye was made from a Kyrsan Medallion taken from Union shipments. This means the Ignition Union have managed to not only get Krysan Medallions, but have gotten them to the surface. When showing Klaris the Medallions they note how they weren't even sure if anything like that existed. And yet the Ignition Union already have them. This is why I believe the Ignition Union has done far more than the Divers and aren't just a repaint.

i disagree - i think it’s far more likely that the Ignition Union pilfered these Kyrsan Medallions from Kyrsans spawned by the Diluvian mechanism, or by some other means. let’s just say that they have managed to drill into New Kyrsa - they ultimately have contributed nothing more than the Divers have, as the player character inevitably provides the Divers with Kyrsan Medallions themselves. in addition, i wouldn’t call the addition of Kyrsan Medallions into the overworld “doing far more for humanity” whatsoever. they’re introducing an unnecessary power source that has only been shown to breed weapons of war thus far

A few black divers were able to enter and return from floor 2 so they probably have some medallions. If not that, the player themselves acquired lots of medallions on layer 2 runs so maybe because of all the medallions the Divers are receiving, they are starting to sell them to other factions like the Ignition for that MONEY 🤑🤑. And then the Summer Company probably raided an Ignition boat that happened to have a medallion on it.
I feel like layer 3 will focus more on ignition union and give more in depth the true motives of the faction since layer 3 can be accessed to the surface snd ignition union are probably the only ones to get down there and have a base.

When you're in the cathedral where Chaser resides, there are countless divers killed and slaughtered by him. Not only that, but on one of the hooks, there's a Deepdelver wearing the item "Shrouded Capes" pierced onto that hook. Thought I might mention that.

i feel like the epsi thing is just entirely wrong. based on the dialogue, they had no idea where epsi was, and they would have never even let epsi go down there. sure it could be seen as an unsafe work place if a child managed to sneak down to layer two without anyone realizing, but they never had any intention of letting epsi go anywhere dangerous. then once they cant find epsi and they conclude hes in layer two, they feel awful and try their best to find him (although with the generator problem locking them inside and the weird time loop stuff of layer two, it was awfully hard to find him.) once you find epsi and save him, they are so thankful for you that they instantly trust you with some of their strongest technology. that shows they really care about epsi. also, saying the mechalodaunts are monstrocities is kinda just.... an overexaggeration. megalodaunts are really powerful predators who have evolved to be able to effortlessly decimate their prey. a mechalodaunt is just a mechanical recreation of nature itself showing how its done. there are MANY real world examples of mankind recreating things that animals/plants have done in nature purely because the animals/plants show it works. not to mention, the mechalodaunts would have just been a way of self defence. they were going to be the equivalent of a defence turret, attacking anyone who decided to invade summer isle. if it werent for summer isle intercepting that and messing up their programming, mechalodaunts would have just been the union saying "if you try to invade our settlement, we will get our robots with guns to attack you. so dont attack us." honestly brah this whole video just feels like diver propaganda 😭 i still respect you for discussing deepwoken lore since its really interesting and nowadays there arent many people discussing it anymore

the problem I have with the divers is that the black diver title gives them an almost unchecked unquestionable role in their hierarchy to the point where you can take a ton of freshmeat members and pull them down into a danger zone rather than going prepared with other black divers or even journeymen (check the armors on the bodies in the cathedral of ethiron)
