- I have the pleasure to sit with the brilliant Bruno Putzeys from Hypex Audio fame. It's no secret that he truly broke ground to make Class D amplification mainstream within the HiFi community.

That was a great, really informative, well done interview Jason. Starting at the beginning and moving through the chapters in Bruno’s career was, well, rational :-) And of course it was not only the chronology but hearing the reasons things unfolded as they did tied everything together. I had only heard of the famous Bruno Putzeys and now I appreciate knowing more about where Hypex, Purifi and Kii are coming from. Thank you for sharing, Bruno. Finally I must say that it is not the norm for either the interviewer or interviewee to not step on the other’s sentences so it is notable that you didn’t. This was a very natural, easy to listen to chat. Thank you both!
Those last couple of minutes really put a smile on my face. Chapeau, Bruno.
The way I see it this amp module will revolutionise audio as it has been known it throughout my lifetime. Tubes, class ab, class a, it all seems a bit silly now. I realize that the audiophiles who spend thousands on cables, spend time swapping tubes, and hours listening to their old records will be a tough crowd. But this amp is on another level. It's that irresistible force that should wake up all but the most religious.
Love the insight that Putzey provides. Star level thinker, designer, builder and visionary.
Very entertaining episode with Buno Puzey who Is a very nice, interesting and modest gentleman destined to be revered and immortalised along with likes of all my other favourite audio designers/electrical engineers like: Bob Carver, Dan D’agostino, Nelson Pass, Hiroyasu Kondo, Alan Wright, Bascom King, Nori Komuro and Joe Rasmussen to name but a few.
This was much better than the non-intellectual podcast on speakers that I recently watched.
Man as a DIY'er we are so damn lucky to have those guys of purifi. Insane how good they are to use.
Great interview, I could spend hours listening to Bruno speak between past and future.
Met Bruno in 2006, I made a video of him doing a presentation to "ETF06" with a Sony Camcorder on a tripod. What struck me was his accent, note that it is not American but more British. He was the only one who was there who talked like that. He still talks like that, as you can hear.
Good attitudes he brings towards the end there. It seems that people who REALLY know their stuff and have something to point to in the real world do not fit into the trenches of various forums.
This guy is a genius.
Bruno. Please revisit the dac world and give us the next incarnation of the Tambaqui! Truly enjoy mine and it will be with me for a very long time.
Bruno I am a Hypex amp and Purify woofer fan
Bruno is a very talented analog designer he has almost alien mathematical understanding of control theory. I wish he taught subject matter what he knows.
Someone already wrote minidsp for a collab haha?
Anyone know, if Bruno designed the hypex ucd 180?
Was so excited about hearing this great engineer speak for over an hour. Sadly, I feel it wasn't time well spent. I can think of a more exciting line of questioning to make these interviews come through... Just my humble opinion for what it's worth.
Respectfully, it would be nice if you matched the interviewer/interviewee levels 👍 Questions are loud
Well …this could be good interview if questions are about audio , but not political ones. Would you build a speakers? Would you make dsp? Common…
The persistant stuttering is painful to listen to
