The problem is the whole reason why he would choose to pursue you in the first place is because he has absolutely ill intent. He purposely wants to find someone to shape and manipulate. A woman that already agrees with his politics and with his beliefs is not going to require any shaping and he wants to specifically do that.

I am a married man of about 15 years so I love hearing other people's dating stories. I wonder if not only did this guy not really read your profile but if he sends out these messages to as many women as he can and plays the numbers game. That's the only other explanation outside of the one you thoughtfully gave.

Damn that dude certainly wasn't what you were looking for LOL. You are far better and more badass than a trad wife and would never let anybody control your life or career and if you don't want kids that's perfectly fine. I'm no longer on dating apps as I had no success with them for a entire year they are hopeless. Somebody even was forcing me to get into trading on there so I knew they couldn't be trusted and could have been attempting to con me!

They look for a happy and kind-looking face, then project all their dream traits onto that stranger. They go for people they assume will be an easy target or who won't judge them or call them out. Then when they find out you aren't what they assumed they get mad at you for destroying their fantasy lol. It's like a specific set of traits these people have that all draw them to the "trad" life in the first place. They need a sense of control and to feel that they won't be left by someone. The attachment issues can be heard from 10 miles away.

It's hard to judge a person from what they write on a profile. People don't know what to write to begin with and they are trying to impress, interest you in a just a few sentences which is hard to do. That's why most profiles come off as cringy.
And it’s also unfortunate when they try to match with people who they definitely wouldn’t be compatible with. It seems like a lot of people on dating apps don’t read other people’s profiles before trying to match.

Here's the ironic thing. I like Weird Al and the long hair look. I also grew up homeschooled in a very religious household with similar values. If I were on dating apps, I would have probably liked or been intrigued by somebody like James because there are some actual similarities to build on. But now that I know he's just randomly messaging strangers everywhere online with different lifestyles and values, my interest drops significantly. Men deliberately embody the red flags that they say they don't like in women.

Just know that there are koo-koo women that want stuff like this too. I joined a mainstream, popular site about 2 years after the devastating loss of my wife. I was inundated with messages over the first weekend - maybe due to being tall (?) and received some messages from single and pairs of women dressed in crazy outfits offering all kinds of nutty stuff 😂
I realized very quickly that this was not for me and ran away fast 😄
