My coach ruptured his achilles in the exact same way, sliding back and pushing off. He went on to become national champion. That was almost 30 years ago and we know so much more about physical therapy / rehab now. Don't give up, use that fighting spirit and all the best on your road to recovery!
Hmm. Injuries are an athelete's nightmare. Be patient & be cautious. Get well soon. # Luv❤️fr Malaysia.
Hoping you get better soon. I know how difficult it is going through a leg injury as I tore my ACL (while preparing for promo exam) last week of Jan as well and had surgery Feb 20. It would be quite a recovery period for us and physical therapy as well as positive mental atitude would play a big role. Good luck in your recovery.
Thanks! Same to you!
@@AlexWongTKD hope you are doing well Alex and that your rehab is going well in your Achilles. I am praying that you are back and better than ever.🙏🏿🥋😔
Praying for your recovery! You got this Alex!!!
All the best for your recovery. I've been down that road and I know it's not an easy, but knowing your mental toughness and work ethic, I'm sure you will do it right and come back to full strength.
Alex, I so admire your persistence and determination to be the best you can be at Taekwondo. Maintain that positivity and you'll get through this! No doubt! BTW, you've motivated me to train hard ever since I was a yellow belt (I'm green now). I'm cheering for you during this recovery.
Praying for a speedy and complete recovery!!! I ruptured my right Achilles in October of 2020 and I am thankful that I was able to return to practicing TKD again! I empathize with your current trial and those who have walked through it as well. We all believe in you Alex, don't give up, please be patient with the process, and you WILL return stronger than before!!! Much love from Miami, FL!!! 🙏🏾💯💯💯
did anybody explain why you got this injury. Overuse (too much training and little recovery), accident, not enough warm up?
Crappy injury for a TKD competitor. Wishing you all the speediest recover possible.
Hope you recover quickly eat a bunch of protein and vitamin C to recover quicker also you can do boxing and some kicking while sitting down so no excuses thank you for sharing! :-) heart😊😊
Injuries stack up with age. All that kicking, your hips will go out in your fifties. Sucks, but there it is. I finally gave up mma/bjj as the medical bills started stacking up, at 56.
Good luck,
youtube is all sorts of messed up. i used to watch your content somewhat regularly. then nothing. well as i can see you are injured, but youtube didn't even put these injury update videos in my feed.
Semoga cepat sembuh my idola

You live in the US. Don't you have to be a millionaire for this treatment?
Take your time to get well! Don't start to soon with training.

I was curious if you’re part Asian due to your last name. I have 3 cousins who are half Chinese.
I'm half Korean and my husband is Thai
@@AlexWongTKD awesome! I like just about anything to do with Asia, I majored in history with a philosophy minor, and I know Asia in particular China has a lot of both. Have you guys ever visited Asia?

Thank you!
I wish you a good and full recovery. Getting injured is terrible.
Thanks! It definitely isn't fun
@@AlexWongTKD You are welcome! I know first hand from practicing Goju-Ryu style of Karate, that sometimes training / sparring injuries take many months to heal. Sometimes, even after recovery, mild discomfort lingers for quite some time.
Feel better soon!
Thanks!
I understand exactly what you are going through. I ripped my pectoral muscle off of the bone and needed 2 surgeries. I went from having a great right hook and complete confidence in my ko power to not being able to do a push-up. It was completely humbling and a took a lot longer than 3 months to recover. But I did. I got better and eventually I tested and earned my 5th degree. I no longer compete in competitions anymore but I was aging out of that part of my life anyway. Good luck I'll say a prayer for your recovery.
You'll comeback stronger for sure most legends have gone through some tough struggle and yet they survive and became the great champion they are... 💪🔥
You are one of my inspiration for continuing my Martial Arts Career despite my age etc.
