Hiking Through Time at Gorman Falls and Gorman Spring Trails

The Colorado Bend State Park in central Texas features many miles of hiking trails, and two of the most popular are the Gorman Falls Trail and the Gorman Spring Trail.
I find that trails excite feelings, and reawaken emotional connections to old events from life. Hiking a trail can be contemplative, almost like walking a labyrinth or tracing a design with a pencil.
On this trail, I awakened some old feelings and memories from a challenging hike in my youth. There is a mix of imagery that takes you from the present to the past, and back again, as I tell about that old experience. But, you also get a good look at these two trails and the challenges and pleasures that await you if you decide to hike them.
