- In this episode, the team 'trexs' to T-Rex Cafe at Disney Springs. This highly-themed restaurant is in the same family as Rainforest Cafe but somehow manages to be even louder and over-stimulating but it has dinosaurs. Both serve food or what appears to be food.

"You bet Jurassic we are" 😂
This restaurant has a special place in my heart because this is where I ate alone for the first time on my first solo trip from Atlanta to Orlando, but I agree with everyone’s critique’s, I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. I’ll just hold it in that special memory forever
Here before all the people who say “We always love it there” show up.
That’s the key. If the kids don’t know it’s there they can’t miss it. 😂
Even if they see it as you’re walking by, you can always say they’re not taking walk-ups or whatever lol
💯% agree. There is no reason to tell kids about mediocre expensive attractions/restaurants when there are sooo many enjoyable things for the whole family
Also many better places for Dino stuff.
I really want Ryno to experience a good meal soon.
You're just being honest, Ryno. I would have been disappointed in that meal too.
Rhino is the best I feel kinda bad but he would be like me and hearing his complaints and all those kids, noise, and colors would kill me!! I was dieing laughing that is me!
And suddenly all of Rory's dinosaur toys disappear 🤭
Ryno, never stop being you because that’s why I watch this channel. Brutal honesty is what we need in this influencer world.. and we get it from you perfectly.
"Don't let your kids know about T-Rex and then you can just avoid it completely" had me cracking up!! We went several years ago with our dino-fan son and just got burgers and they were fine. Nothing bad, but nothing special either - it was a one and done for us. But my son enjoyed it and that is what mattered to us at the time.
I feel like I had a better experience there because I wasn’t stuck in that Ice Cave. I even said the same thing when we went - I’m sure glad we didn’t get sat in there - it looked super crammed, loud, and the color changes would make me nauseous. You guys are so right that it’s way too much food for way too much price and not really good food. So lots of subpar food for a lot of money.
Those prices though....I can think of MANY a restaurant in WDW bubble for those prices with better food...even some QS. Appreciate the honest opinions of this group! Can we get a Rosa Mexicano, Cape May Cafe breakfast, or Trattoria al forno review please?
the price for the chicken sandwich about made me throw up lol.
Would love to see a Rosa Mexicano review!
I appreciate the honesty. From the perspective of the person in the family who has to pay for these vacations, the honest reviews are valuable.
When Ryno's like "I hated it but I ate it anyways cuz that's just the person I am" I lost it 🤣💀🤣💀 Same, girl. Same. Lmaooooo.
Thanks for the honest reviews - and no hate Ryno, if I paid $23 for that sandwich, I’d be disappointed too - one fun thing though was reading the newspaper articles that your sandwich was on - “Forrest Gump continues legendary run across America”😊
I miss Mac and cheese Steve, he would’ve been in heaven here
I went to Steve Porters wedding there!
GOOD TO SEE ERICA!
I'm enjoying the dining reviews with you three. You are a good combo of dietary restrictions and personal preferences.
One request, if I may be so bold.... I'd really love to see both brunch and dinner at Raglan Road.
Take care, guys and gals!
Hahahahah holy crap! You guys let ‘em have it with BOTH barrels!!! Lol
Love the show! Thank you for covering Disney Springs restaurants. Your reviews are so helpful! You guys always order a nice variety of heavy versus light dishes. What do you think of Enzo's Hideaway versus Terralina (or should I not bother with either)? Can you guys do a few themed dining reviews based on cuisine type on Disney property--eat/treat/trash Italian restaurants, eat/treat/trash seafood restaurants, eat/treat/trash exotic/specialty restaurants, etc? Whenever we travel, someone says, "I feel like ...." and we're willing to travel on property, but we don't know where to make a reservation. Excited to see more content! 😊
I went with a party of 5 in 2015, and literally no one really liked their food. The only good part was that my 8-yr-old got a pair of dinosaur-feet croc style shoes on the way out at their gift shop, and was obsessed with them for months. But you can visit the gift shop without eating the mediocre food or suffering obnoxious sound/lighting effects for an hour. That’s my advice if you have a Dino-loving kid lol
My kids love that place so much and I suffer through it. Ultimately when I take my kids to Disney, it’s about them and not me. I appreciate the very honest reviews you guys do. I also appreciate that you mentioned how much kids would love eating there just for the decor.
Please review Rain Forest at Animal Kingdom, I’ve always had an enjoyable meal there. It would be good to hear which of these kid themed restaurants is the better choice.
Yes, I would like to see if there is a food difference between T-Rex and Rainforest since they are so similar.
To each there own, we have eating there several times and it is more of a family style restaurant seating and atmosphere so like mention more for kids like rainforest cafe. The food is ok not a 5-star listing, but it was good. wife loves the boneyard platter. Yes, it is a Disney property place to eat and you pay for that experience.
Don't apologize for being real!! We appreciate your honesty! I work hard for my coins, not trying to waste them on subpar foods!
Love the DIS keep up the good work! Ryno lol keep telling the truth! You’re one of the best people on UA-cam. The 3 of you are doing a good job with the channel.
Its good that as he complains about the theme, the colors of the lights are changing just to annoy him. Would have been good to have some dinosaur noises in the background as well and he had to yell to be heard.
We absolutely love T-Rex and will definitely be going back!
Thanks guys.I had to turn my volume down so I can just imagine!😵💫We went once when kids were younger, that was enough.
I look back fondly at our dinner there many years ago.
My husband and 5 year old loves this restaurant but it’s so hard to find dinner reservations during normal dinner hours 5pm-8:30pm
We only had the brownie dessert there since we had some kind of coupon or something like that. We enjoyed it.
That is a good one!
Craig isn't from the streets... he couldn't handle T-Rex Cafe.
Perfect.
IT'S BASICALLY THE RAINFOREST CAFE EXCEPT WITH DINOSAURS!
love the video. looks like a fun place to me but hard to sense the energy of the place without being there
Was just there on sunday before my flight out. Sat at the bar while my kids built stuffed dinosaurs. The bar isnt terrible..and the fish tanks surrounding the bar is pretty cool.
I went once about 7 years ago, and found the food much better than expected. That shrimp bowl looked decent.
Last time I went to Rainforest Cafe, albeit in 2019, the one outside Animal Kingdom, that was surprisingly good too.
Useful - Stay Away. But I will be interested in a re-review by Craig, Kylie, and Rory in 2 or 3 years. 😉
Add a kid and it will become a treasured memory!
@@kenk910 Tell that to the child crying in the background of the entire vid!😉
Took my son there once for his 8th birthday. He’s 20 now. Never asked me to go back. However, been to Toothsome Choco Emporium every visit to Orlando! Good food, reasonably priced AND entertaining for kids!
Very detailed and knowledgeable description about the cajun fries, they prob were old fries sitting in the basket and dropped again. With the syso reference, icing on the cake. HAve fun love ya guys(and girls)
Thanks for going so no one else has to! I honestly feel sad when I see the crowds walking by this place. I have never understood the fascination. There are many good options at Disney Springs and we refuse to spend our precious vacation time at this place. As parents, sure we want to see our kids enjoy, but they’re at Disney world. It’s pretty safe to say they’re going to have fun. Friends always ask us about this place, and we tell them to go where they want to go, not what they think the kids will like. Kids are just as happy with a grilled cheese from the Boathouse! Then mama gets her Duck Duck Razz and everyone wins! 🐥
Love the prerequisite “baby loudly crying in the background” throughout the entire video😂
Ok so I know this isn’t going to make sense to you guys bc you don’t have kids OR kids of a nightmarish age yet but hear me out…this place was always a go to for me when my kids were little BECAUSE of the overstimulation. And bc THEY were so mesmerized and taken by everything they were seeing, it kept them from screaming their bloody heads off. AND in turn, if they DID scream their bloody heads off, no one could hear it bc it was so loud! And while that doesn’t sound enjoyable to a normal person, for a parent THAT is what is relaxing for me…I can enjoy dinner without having to pray to 20 gods that my kid doesn’t lose it! 😂
Thanks for taking one for the team. Yikes!!!!!
Ryno there is no reason to rip you up in the comments. You are giving your honest review and I appreciate that. It’s not being negative it ls being realistic.
Hats off to you guys and keeping straight faces through your reviews. I got nothing else...and yes, I have kids and would never eat here.
Ah the dulcet sounds of babies crying and screaming 😂😂
We actually ate there on Thursday. Its been about 10 years since last eating there. The wife had Flatbread pizza appetizer as entrée, my 19yo son had mega burger, 20yo son had bone yard and his 20yo gf had ribs. Agree with with your overall review that there are obviously better options, but the food wasn't bad and we enjoy the chaos family atmosphere every once and while. 😂
Appreciate the honesty. I think you guys usually go too easy on restaurants.
ORDER THE CHOCOLATE EXTINCTION ❤❤❤❤ It is the BEST DESSERT ❤ Also, in the 4 times I've been there (I'm a NY'er), I've never had a bad meal. I ordered the lemon chicken last Summer but it was a special that had it just by itself, no bun, almost bruschetta style, with white rice and green beans, very yummy. My 15 yr old wants to be a paleontologist and TREX is a must do.
Go back JUST for the chocolate EXTINCTION, you will love it!
It’s basically rainforest cafe with dinosaurs
Ate there in 2014 and either 2015 or 18. Same as the Rainforest Cafe, it looks and feels pretty cool in there, and the food is just okay. Sat in a cubby right near the entrance the first time, and i guess I would call it the main dino area right near a dinosaur anamatronic the second time. Got the Supersaurus Sampler the first time, and The Boneyard Buffet(same as Craig) that was a half rack of ribs and a half roasted chicken. Both were okay
Always describe T-Rex as bang average with an added headache. Only ever went because the kids liked it. As soon as they saw sense we have never been back.
The food sucks, but my kids don’t notice that and have so much fun! Agreed tho…not great 😬 worth it for the kids experience !!
My fam has eaten here 2 or 3 times and while it wasn't an amazing experience, the kids had fun and ate their food and we found the restaurant crew helpful in dealing with our son's food allergies. It's probably been about 4 years since the last time we went. Not sure when or if we'd go there again but we did reduce the financial damage by using a reward from Discover Card Cash Back points to make it easier to handle. Perhaps it's because we are not immersed in the tourist zone 365 days a year like locals but we were not thrown by the theming, and just took it in stride. I will say I believe the menu does have some reasonably good choices on it but they might be hard to find. Given that T-Rex is in Disney Springs where so many options are located, I don't blame those who want to look elsewhere.
Good job
T-REX CAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love T Rex. Good food
This is the place my kids liked to eat, until they were older teens. But, we either used the dining plan or the
Landry’s discount club. It was always over priced as is all of Landry’s restaurants, even here in Charlotte NC. Probably would opt for Yak n Yeti opposed to T-Rex or Rain Forest in the future.
I have 4 boys who have grown up watching all the Jurassic Park movies dozens of times, so they are absolutely in love with dinosaurs. I have done 3 father and son trips with each boy individually and they all loved it. The first trip, the older boys were 4 and 6 and the third one was nine when he went and he loved it too. I am now planning the 4th and final father-son trip for 2025 and he will be eleven. I recently quizzed the 3 boys, especially the 11 year old since my youngest will be 11 in 2025 and they all said they would love it even more now and the 6 year old is now 14! So no escaping it for me! I agree it’s crappy overpriced food and what makes it worse is there’s such great food so close by! Skip dessert for sure, how can you have a mediocre sundae when Ghirardelli’s is literally 30 seconds away and Salt and Straw just down the way? The best thing on the menu is the burger, but it’s hard to swallow with Deluxe Burger so close by! My kids loved the Mac and cheese and the pizzas. My goal in 2025 is to eat as little as possible and then hit Chicken Guy for some nuggets and then Salt and Straw for dessert. I’ve been going since it opened and the food used to be better. Now the only reason to go is for the kiddos!
Be nice to T-Rex. Once your little guy is about 3 you will find a new love for it.
I've been to both Rainforest Cafe in Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs twice each. And both times, food was trash, service was ok. Same goes with T-Rex, trash food and so so service. Now of course my experience will be different from a lot of other people. But at the same time, there's a strong concensus in the Disney community that both restaurants need better menus, better service and of course better food. They're not the worse of the worse on property. But they're definitely on that list for me. LOL.
This was also Charles Boda’s favorite place to dine
Don't sweat it Ryno, I have 3 kids who love to go to Rain Forest Cafe in Disney Springs and 1 time we switched it up and went to TRex instead assuming it is the same restaurant with different theming. It was a 1 and done for my family, nobody liked the food.
My kids loved the theming of the restaurant but the food not so much. We probably won’t go back because the food wasn’t that good.
Great review, keeping it real Ryno, Craig and Erica.
rainforest cafe at AK is the best meal I had on property in a long time the seafood trio or the steak is amazing. You need to go and review that place again. You won't be disappointed
I will say, the couple times I ate here when I was a child... it was not goof (food wise)... when I took my family in March 2021, I got the Mushroom Raviolli, and I must say... IT WAS REALLY GOOD. Both what I got, and my ex-wife got was very very good. I am willing to admit, we might've just got lucky and hit the right month, and the right year, and the right night because I WAS SHOCKED that T.Rex was the best meal we had all trip.
Smack it with donkey sauce! 😂
I think that crispy/hollow fry means they were re-fried.
Just do a Trex desserts review
Great review! Crazy expensive!
Totally! $23 for a fast food quality chicken sandwich that you could get for a little over $5 bucks anywhere else, minus the static dino-animatronics? Yikes!
"We bet Jur-ASSic we are"
So thankful my son was never super obsessed with dino's. We did the build a bear experience in their gift shop on our first trip so we still got to see inside, and I didn't have to eat crappy overpriced food in an environment that I'm sure would give me a headache. Would love to see a Splitsville review. I keep hearing that the food is good, but never really see any reviews on it.
We go. Food is on par with other comparable type places in Disney. Nothing exceptional but fine. We’ve had good tables and so so tables. It affects the enjoyment a bit. My young kids still enjoy going here so we go and have a good time with it.
Never would eat here.
But the gift shop is worth seeing.
My Disney Dining spider sense tingled when this place first opened. I’ve never went inside…never will.
LOL I HATE IT, BUT I ATE IT ANYWAY!
I was terribly disappointed by the food on my Disney cruise. Thanks for this warning
This was the first restaurant we ate at on our first time at Disney World. My son was 10. We haven't been back lol. We are taking my granddaughters for their first trip and my son has his heart set on taking his girls there... 😢
Rain Forest cafe and T Rex have never really had good food. The only time any of us was happy was many years ago, when my children were young, the Rainforest Cafe at the Mall of America had a kid's meal that had a 1/4 rotisserie chicken meal that was really good and a great deal. I would take my youngest and just order the kids meal for her because she really liked it. They took it off of the kid's menu years ago. But the food is not good, I don't know how they are still in business it is that bad.
NO way I'd sit in that ice cave for more than 2 minutes. I'd definitely have to move to a different area.
I love the idea of T-Rex but it is soooooo overstimulating. Just constant chaos.
I know it's super gimicky and touristy, but we thought our food was pretty good and we liked the atmosphere. Not Pete's cup of tea, but I prefer it to Rainforest. Idk if it's worth the $ bc we were on the dining plan last time we were there
Thank you for doing this review and being honest. I was wondering about this restaurant because my daughter loves dinosaurs BUT she does not do well in restaurants that are really loud and I don't either, so I think we are going to pass.
Guys, cheer up.
Great shirts as always…wonderful review ❤keep them going ❤
As a long time subscriber I really appreciate your reviews! You always say how you feel, you pull no punches, and isn`t that what we want from food reviews? ♥ from Vancouver Island, Canada.
Dang y’all are brutal! Wishing your kid doesn’t like dinosaurs because of TREX is next level petty 🤣
The cave is always LOUD. Asked to be placed outside of the cave. Food was ok and sitting outside of the cave was much better.
Ooft $22 for that chicken sandwich??
Higheay robbery
We ate at rainforest cafe in animal kingdom a few years ago. 3 of us got so violently ill from a breakfast pizza, we will never return to any of this brand of restaurant... also hoping our little buddy doesn't love Dino's when he grows up 🤢😬
The best dish--shrimp and veggies with rice--for $28 is a crime. Even fancy restaurants with delicious food only charge around $2/shrimp and this sounds like it does not qualify! At least I know this goes in the: NEVER list now so thanks for your hard work. 😀
It’s been a few years since my family has eaten here but I don’t think they were too bad all things considered. I have a shellfish allergy and they did almost the same thing as they did for you all. That ice room is definitely not a place you should have eaten, it’s not quite as bad out in the regular part of the restaurant. As for the cost, it’s not honestly that much different than some of the other places to dine in that area.
My husband and friends ate there, we had good food and a fun time. Maybe you need to be in the right frame of minf to dine there.
13:06 they are ribs, not jerky
"You bet your Jur-assic you are" 🤣
This is a place that you say you did once in your life but that's it. It's there for the experience not the food.
I've been to this place once in 2016 and ejoyed it. I had the rotisserie chicken and it was very good. My only beef was with the price, however it is at Disney so regrettably it is to be expected.
