Presentation of the national anthem of the United States of America as performed by Sandi Patty combining the original lyrics written by Francis Scott Key in 1814 with a second, highly popular, verse composed by Claire Clonninger for the Statue of Liberty Centennial Celebration in 1986.
History:
"The Star-Spangled Banner" is the national anthem of the United States of America. The lyrics come from "Defence of Fort McHenry",[1] a poem written in 1814 by the 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet, Francis Scott Key, after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by the British Royal Navy ships in Chesapeake Bay during the Battle of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812.
The poem was set to the tune of a popular British song written by John Stafford Smith for the Anacreontic Society, a men's social club in London. "The Anacreontic Song" (or "To Anacreon in Heaven"), with various lyrics, was already popular in the United States. Set to Key's poem and renamed "The Star-Spangled Banner", it would soon become a well-known American patriotic song. With a range of one and a half octaves, it is known for being difficult to sing. Although the poem has four stanzas, only the first is commonly sung today.
Sandi Patty is one of the most highly acclaimed performers of our time with five Grammy Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, three platinum records, five gold records, and eleven million recordings sold, Sandi Patty is simply known as "The Voice." In fact, she is the most awarded female vocalist in contemporary Christian music history. Sandi was introduced to the world with her rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner "during the rededication of the Statue of Liberty in 1986. Virtually overnight she became one of the nation's best-loved performers and she has performed this stirring rendition of the national anthem over 1000 times in the last 25+ years.
Claire Cloninger is a six-time winner of the Gospel Music Association's Dove Award winner for lyric writing. Her songs have been widely recorded by such artists as Amy Grant, Sandi Patti, Wayne Watson, Don Moen and B.J. Thomas, to name a few.
She was commissioned by the national Statue of Liberty Centennial Committee to write a new second verse to "The Star-Spangled Banner" which was used as part of the centennial celebration. This popular new version of the national anthem was also used to cap off a patriotic centennial extravaganza at Disney World.

i am proud of being an American, i want to thanks all the men and women in uniforms that everyday put their lives in line, to protect our principles as Americans, there is not love bigger that give your live for your country. America I love you, and stand and fight for you. My heart aches for that acts of cowardly in which our country so welcoming to all , was unjustly attack. Peace for all the ones who die we know and for all that we don't. I love the USA. Sorry to the many families missing their loves ones,lets's always stay united as one big family.

If you were born and raised in this country, no matter what your Race, Creed , Color, or origin you should be proud of this rendition of The Anthem.

That part was one of the more difficult parts of this video to piece together as I had to crop each star field from its respective flag, then get them all resized to be the same size, then put them in order add an aged video filter effect to each individual photo, and then finally add in the transitions... In the video it only lasts about 10 seconds but took several hours of editing to get it just right. These videos are really a labor of love and I am glad they are being viewed and appreciated. :-)

You did a really good job here. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to share this with everyone. I meet Sandi Patty Last year and she is an amazing person. The Second version (The new one) really shows the American spirit and fits the song perfectly. And the images that you put in Shows that spirit.

Thank you Rayne Yoshida, your kind words are greatly appreciated. I put these together in my free time to try and contribute in some small way. I recently upgraded to a new Mac computer that is a huge leap forward from the beat-up and worn-out 8-year-old Macbook this video was put together on but sadly the original video files this video was made from were not compatible with the new software on the new computer so I have started re-editing this video from scratch this week... the downside is I lost lot of worK and time that went into this... the upside is that it is forcing me to start over and fix all the little things that I may not have been 100% satisfied with and really upgrade some other parts... I am hoping to get the new version of this out in time for Veteran's Day in November 2014 so I encourage you to subscribe and keep apprised of any updates!

There is no more powerful and pride swelling version of this song. Not even Whitney Houston's version compares to this. The additional verse is especially inspirational.
