Thank you guys for the kind words & honest feedback! Your looks were soo beautiful 😍A Cappella, So Good & Wig all didn't show up well because you layered them on top of matte light shadows that you packed on top of your primer in your 2nd step... metallic shades best perform wet or when they have something to stick to, no matter what palette is being used!!

James please help. I bought my palette yesterday and my swatches were just of little to no pigment... My boyfriend said my arm may be too textured (im hairy) lol so i swatched on his arm certain colors performed better but there were still a few ones tht didnt show up like daddy, bee, and the light green shade im sorry idr the name. I dm'd u some of the pictures and videos. I posted it on Ig and tagged u but i didnt wanna seem attention seeking. I'm not sure if maybe my ulta got a bad batch so im afraid to return and swap. Can you please read this comment then check your dms? I love u so much and was super excited to get this palette and was so upset my swatches didn't come out like yours.

Yes we used a primer... and yes we think the white matte impacted the shimmer, however I have other shimmers that perform amazingly even with out primer and a matte shadow used to set
Patricia Bright everyone keeps sayin “they’re pressed pigments, they’re different” prettyyyyyy sure jeffree star palettes are pressed pigments, as well as many others and they don’t perform like this 🤷🏻♀️

It’s different to set your primer with a matte shadow vs packing on a matte shadow. No hate though - still enjoyed the review, everyone has different opinions and I haven’t even tried the palette myself! Just been taught that shimmers sometimes don’t perform well over packed matte shadows. 😊💙 xx

don't get me wrong sis I love me some Patricia, she is the best and her personality is so funny, friendly and endearing BUT most UA-camrs use high-tech Camera, amazing software, filters and lighting. In real life they are just like us. Better consult a proper licensed dermatologist if you have skin issue.

P.O.C.s please just save up and buy a Pat McGarth palette. They may cost $125, but after buying 10 different morphe, tarte, urban decay, two face and only finding a few shades that work per item you spend the same amount. ALSO there is less product in those cheaper pans than hers. Oh and you don't need primer. 🤦🏾♀️ Side note if you can save for Gucci, you can save for Patty. 😏
@@christabelmateta juvia 's place is good too for $20-25. I have nubian 2 palette which I use to complement my Pat McGrath palette when I really really want to use it. Juvia has great pigment and blend ability but each pan is not that deep, so I use it sparingly. Also my JP does not come with a mirror so for traveling I leave it behind.

I feel like acapella might not show up because of the white matte you put on your lid. The matte is too smooth and "set" for it, it needs something to stick to. It doesn’t have to be an "un-set" base, but when you pack on a matte shadow first it’s just not going to perform as well. It’s pretty common, I think. Hope my comment made sense lol. And the same thing with the gold shadow

A good shadow should work well in that situation. I have had plenty of cheaper gold shimmers work well over mattes without primer or concealer.

Its much more difficult to find colors that looks nice on brown or darker color skin so you look at reviews of people who have skin like yours because it gives you an idea of how that specific color or palate would look on you! I remember seeing this palette in 1995. Honestly at this point I’m over it, so cousin Pat Macgrath and juvia’s place understand shadows.
Uuuggghhhh PAT MCGRATH is the absolute best, every morphe palette I have has been utterly DISAPPOINTING!! I don't mind paying extra for shadows that WORK!!!

The pressed pigments, especially the shimmers, really require a tacky primer like paint pot or NYX eyeshadow base, with a very careful patting motion, and gentle blending. They don't perform like your average shimmer or metallic and have a specific technique needed. I admit, not the most friendly for people who just buy it and use it like every other shadow. James explains it.
I'm still undecided about the palette and whether or not to pick it up. The purple, artistry, is more a topper style shadow, and needs work to make it opaque. It has a very sheer base.
Anywho, definitely try again with a tacky base, not concealer or a matte shadow thick under it.
I'd love to see how it does for you.

@@christabelmateta I've had that problem before. I usually pack on the colors first and then blend lightly to fix that but it doesn't always work.

you put the shimmer on a powdery white base, he suggests with all the shadows to prime and pack the pigments onto a sticky primed base but i see what you were tryna do with the white base to make it look brighter just that technique seems to flop w dis palette from what ive seen. Also some people prefer using a finger for shimmer application coz natural oils help with the formula to smooth on a good coat of pigment. ISSANNOYIN to not be able to use whatever technique youre used to but I wouldn't say it's a write off from wat ive seen. cute vid as alwaayyss patty (lol) xx
