We are selling a commercial site this way at the moment. There are a couple of way you can do it. One is an option agreement the other is vendor finance. There are a few other way but they are more complex. I did try calling the garage to explain how to do it. But you close on Sundays!!!!

In theory you can claim vat back on prep bills, but depends if paint and mechanics are vat registered, if not maybe at least get their invoices for parts in your name, a part for a few hundred quid has a large chunk of vat on it, same with paint, ask them for some supplier paint invoices, I get invoices from sdl, euro, Rotherham refinish, obviously then it's just in house labour you loose out on. Tbh with your own mechanic and vat reg bills for you to claim back you'll be a lot better off, all your then loosing on the vat margin scheme is his wages, not a lot if he's sorting 10 cars a week.

Risky on a private sale with small margin, looks like I've just got caught out with a hpi clear, but previously damaged car, went thru Co part as structural damage but must have not been written off by insurance, obviously to get a better price, customers done a salvage check and gone nuts.

When your buying cars at that price range and at full private sale valuation with only that margin it seems your getting desperate just to buy stock and potentially not making it worth your while.
I've just been scammed today bud, bought a 64 plate mii at auction, hpi clear, customers hpi, d it, come back as cat s, I've done a salvage check as well and yes recent cat S, hoping auction helps out, I'll not be going again if they don't, they had 30k in fees off me last year.....
@@cardealerpro yes bud, it's hpi clear, but if you pay for a salvage check it's cat S, astons mailed me saying they're charging an extra fee to check this, but I don't know if they have, so basically I've paid cap clean, plus fees for a cat S and I bet Astons won't want to know, do now you know, pay extra for a salvage check.
@@Paul-pb4wv they've offered a refund, only thing is I've put money into it, mot, service, prep, it's really annoying, from this mth they are doing an additional salvage check, charging you 4 quid, tbh I bet a lot of cars have been thru say Co part as semi unrecorded.

If it's really bad and they won't come out with heat try wet sanding then re-dye with Forever Black Trim Restorer. That's what we all used to use for Golf GTIs, 205s etc back in the day with faded trim. Just don't get any on the paint.
I don't trust private bud, most are traders pretending, check date of last v5 at least, most say about 2 weeks ago, I'm an Aston barclay dude personally, but even then you can be legged up, I'd not gone with that golf after that message, never had one of those messages tbh, at least at auction your sure it's all hpi clear, your on your own private.

If you have trade instance you don’t need to put a car in your name, the car just needs to go into the trade on the gov website then when you sell you enter the new keepers details online
Yes you can, but you'll probably not get any refund, I used to tax them to help sell, cancel DD then, after a few I got blocked by dvla, tbh your just better getting trade plates.

I dont think I'd have bothered with the golf. It only takes one warranty claim and its costing you a lot of money. Deals like that are just too risky.

You can claim the vat on the parts and if you’ve used a vat registered garage
You can but then you have to pay the VAT again as part of the margin. You pay twice and reclaim it once.
