I'm a crappy 19 year old musician and my mom forced me to listen to this today... I've listened to you all night now and this song over and over, over the past couple hours.. you're now another reason I love the lady so much (including that whole birthing process).. legit youre amazing man, and truly inspiring. I'd love to see you live sometime
Konrad - I can't ask for more than that. So glad that the discovery hit you like that. I hope I get to sing for you live sometime - whereabouts do you live in the world?
@@CorinRaymondMusic woooaaahh, just got this notification! I’m blown away this got in front of you! Flattered if it made you smile I’m laughing and cringing at the comment I left, many ups n downs since then, listened to your stuff plenty over the years, helped me through some tough times, still very much appreciate you and your work I’m nearish to Toronto usually, different cities around Ontario, gonna go check you’re your tour dates now, and throw on “Old fort Mac” for my roommates! 🤣 Hope you’re doing well there buddy, best of luck in all your endeavours (Ps. Musics taken a backseat a little bit for me but this is reminding me of some shit I’ve been working on, thanks again)
@@Tyro_ Hey Jack, your initial message was a good one! If you'd like to catch me sometime, I'll be back at The Cameron House in Toronto, every Thursday (except Sept 21) through Sept and Oct. Say hello if you make it out!
@@CorinRaymondMusic eh sweet I should be closer to the city starting September actually, I’ll definitely make my way and say what’s up! Thanks dude :) (And lol no you’re not hallucinating I’ve had a couple names online, just for anonymity’s sake on this account)
i'm an older cat i guess. i like to think dig music with heart,, soul,, balls. most of the shit i listen to is older---- like at least a decade or so before my time. one day i was drinkin an such an buzzin out to a satellite folk station when i heard this tune. i figured it musta bin sum folk cat that had passed me by at sum point. well,, not that at all. so very impressed with this dude and his sincerity and dedication to what drives him. its great to see people out there just as dedicated to their music as cats from any generation.
Brilliant! Saw this cat at a house party in Cowtown and several times at his old stomping ground, Cameron House, where the sign says "This is paradise"... immortalize in his song There Will Always be a Smalltime"... Corin is gold.
I hear you! Sometimes we write 'em so that we don't have to live 'em as much as we did before.... thanks for listening, Cody. Glad this tune came in handy, CR.
I've heard this 3 or 4 times now on WQFS. I think it was Rebecca played it today. WQFS comes up with gems like this pretty regular. The local community DJ's carry the weight, there is no way to thank them enough.
Hey Raymond, I'm glad (I think) that it speaks to you. I think maybe we've all got a bit of this song in us, to varying degrees. Worth noting that it was cowritten with a Winnipeg writer named Rob Vaarmeyer. Thanks for stopping by, Raymond. Here's hoping we'll all be a little easier on things...
Thanks a lot Corin... and thank you for sharing - keep rocking buddy! I'll make sure to come see you the next time you're touring north of Toronto, off the 11 somewhere ;-)
I waited at the South country fair but I guess I missed you . Either way if the world ever gets back to how it supposed to be I'll see you in Alberta for sure
Good stuff Corin! What if you added just a hint of distant horn (trumpet) way in the background...I dunno, I just kinda heard(imagined) it while listening... Subscribed!
I thought they were strange comments to come from someone like yourself! But I was tired and the word made me laugh. An odd hacker eh, to write, "Barlow Barlow..." What the heck does that refer to? I hope there was no greater harm done. Thanks for the note.

Me too brother, ready to be gentle. That's what she needs 😢
Unsung hero here. Loved two of his songs before I did the homework and found this kindred bastard

I heard this son while driving back home and reminded so much to my husband! Loved the song so much I had to find it!
this is punk rock!
CKUA is playing this right now, excellent!
Long live CKUA! Best radio station this country’s got! Thanks for the heads up. Glad you’re listening!
Easy on the ears
As a fellow songwriter who’s lived this song I’m grateful you penned it. Thanks for letting some of us know we’re not alone. ❤️

A friend once told me "hard on equipment" by Corb Lund was my theme song. I may have found a replacement.
Well, it's always an honour to sub in for Corb. Glad you and your buddy are digging the tune. Be a little easier on yourself out there!
Love the lyrics, love the melody, love your expressions, and I swear you are a fly on my wall lol.......my new favorite!
Awesome song!
Great tune, relatable to say the least.
that go me so hard I thawed the Crisco....
One of the best songs I've heard in a while.
Beautiful
Aww, shucks, Jamie. Thank you!
I just heard this on WQFS 90.9 FM in Greensboro and came hear immediately to repeat play!

Thx Artword Artbar for introducing Corin to me. Great storyteller, poet, musician, entertainer. Corin is gem.
Shucks, Mike. So glad you dug it!
I heard you preform this in Calgary at a friends place its been years but this song still pulls on my heart strings
Aww, shucks, Carly! Me too. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this one. Hopefully I'll sing it for you again someday. Thanks for listening.
Damn, that's a heart rocker. Beautiful.
Beautiful..
We're hard on our Friends.
Ya can play this at my under taking.
I like this tempo and approach very much.
Thanks, Neil, nice of you to say. Definitely has that Johnny Cash push. It's a momentum I'm a fan of. Hope you're well!
Love it! Keep being hard on things!
This is the sound I needed
Thank you guys! This is the music Ive been looking for, swing by Fernie for your next tour!
Corin, this is one of your many amazing songs; I feel like you wrote this song for me. I'm hard on things too. Thanks for the great song.

What a writer, eh?
Winnipeg misses you - see you down the road at Times!
love this song

New Fan.
Caught you at Philly Folk Fest a couple weeks ago, and your CD has been in pretty much constant rotation since. So damn good!
well done Corin!

It's true, Michael. I do keep it pretty low. Though sometimes, the bar lowers you.
It ain't eathy when your hard on things!
Good stuff Corin!

Listen to the studio recording and I think you'll find we heard what you were hearing...
Nice quality of filming. I could almost see some black and white shots edited within.
Yeah, Beehive do a great job. I like your black and white idea. Are you in filmmaking or video yourself?

I believed it more when you said it twice. Nothing sells a name like rhythm. Jacob Two-Two had it down, had it down!
Corin - my account was hacked. I didn't make those comments.
