@@JacobScherer I still have my original scout in blue from the gen 8 I bought yrs ago when they released. I can’t make myself run it! They are just so nice!
I'm getting one! If you had an open mind when the ascent came out you quickly realized it was the best rig for the money but the body was the main downside. Im gonna print aome performance bumpers. Especially for the rear I could see a rock slider bumper helping to avoid a lot of hangups. I also re used the battery tray and flipped the skid 180° to help the weight bias, but the battery on the sliders may be better for this rig with the bigger body. If you have any ideas, im listening!
What a great looking body. I agree that a little more would have been cool having mirrors and door handles etc to top it off but wow. Still sweet. Great review, appreciate the shared mini crawler knowledge 👊🏻

Gosh brother here i am selling my current rigs to get this rig and the hpi lol i sold one so i hot enough for the hpi now just waiting to sell the other to get this one as well lol
Been away from YT for a minute...when did I miss this cool wooden contraption's introduction??? I searched it and in the description is says 1/12 and 1/10 scale. Can it fit and handle a 13" WB and 7 lbs rig? Now back to the video...
Nice looking. Back in the day (F! I'm old lol) I had a scout travelall, a little longer version of the traveler.. I loved that thing, till my buddy blew it up for me.. 🤦 buddies. . BTW the top comes off to the windshield like a bronco.. heavy as hell.
@@BrettB-n1s could but then it’s just slammed. Could also just band the shocks and it would help. I could maybe cut a coil or two on them but honestly I may go shorter shock and use these ok something else idk?
First video I seen was RC driver he had the orange. I like the green - wish this shade was available for the Gen 8 version. Looks like repositioning the battery and ESC was easy.. the wires were there or did you have to add extra?
10:58 I 3d printed some ascent 18 spring retainers off of thingiverse. It lowered the ride height 5mm and the suspension is really smooth. I put a injora purple viper in my ascent and it gave it really good slow speed control and some crazy wheel speed. That system would probably be good for the scout(since it’s more of a trail truck)
Wow new releases left and right. I agree with lowering a bit and Boggers would be my choice. I just bought another set to go on my blazer. Tire scrubber baby! Another nice vid.
It really looks good 😊
Matt, you probably have the most honest reviews on UA-cam. I appreciate the transparency.

Gotta have it
I've got the 1/10 Scout in orange, it might need a little brother... Thanks for the video!
That was my idea too!

Nice and good lokking truck. It's pretty close to my racing livery with this green and white. I only wish Redcat was easier to purchase in Europe.

Looks like my old scout I used to own. This will be mine.
This is a really nice looking variation of an already great RTR. Keep it up, Redcat!

Wasn't expecting thisrn
This rig here needs some injora 58mm mud paws!
I just purchased an Orange one through Your link, 😉 thank you for your review 👍

That’s quite a big jump on the body from that initial ascent body to THIS !
They make an orange one. I'm sold
Yep! Orange and blue also! I personally always loved the blue
@2fmrc also maybe steal the mirrors off the stock fx118 body for it
axial really need to step up their small scale game. 1/18 is where its at.

Good info! Why not just remove the shock springs to lower it?

@@lylekehrer6159 nope just cut the zip tie holding the wires to the battery tray and there’s plenty there to move it all around!
Would be killer if they done the axe body with hobby wing axe mini 16
I really want an axe style body to match my 1/10. And the furite unity 2 in 1 is great in my ascent 18
I love it , but the hpi venture18 is just better for the same price
