This is the emotional moment a class of students surprise their teacher with a Nintendo Switch after his wife passed away and his son was diagnosed with leukaemia.

As Mr Neidigk prepares to teach his 12th grade maths class at Volcano Vista High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, on November 20, he is handed a huge box.

Asking if the present is for himself or his two-year-old son Mikey, he starts to tear at the wrapping paper and quickly notices it is a new games console.

Stunned, Mr Neidigk exclaims ‘no you did not’ as the Switch becomes more apparent and he has to fight back tears while his class cheer in the background.
