Concourse rotisserie restoration! It is VIN # matching and documented with original invoice and a Marti Report. Only 1,475 were made Looking through the receipts it's obvious this was a no expense spared restoration. Original components were sent out and rebuilt, it would have cost much less to just replace them. Many NOS parts were purchased. How about an NOS speedometer cable for $395 or radiator hoses for $505!
The Drag Pack SCJ: Ford's secret weapon! Ford certainly downplayed this option; it barely got a mention on page 18 of their brochure. It only referenced that it included a 3.91 Traction Lock rear for $155, but oh boy it was so much more. When a guy walked into the Ford dealer and ordered a 3.91 rear with a 4-speed, Ford knew exactly what that buyer's intentions were. So, with no questions asked you got the Super Cobra Jet. It included a much stronger built motor that could take a beating: 4 bolt mains, stronger block, forged pistons on stronger rods, a solid lifter aggressive cam, 780 cfm Holley carb, header type exhaust manifolds, an external oil cooler and more. Another secret is the true horsepower. Rated only 5 hp more than a Cobra Jet at 375 hp, it was actually over 425 hp!
EXTERIOR: What a good-looking car with its fastback design, a shaker hood and killer colors! Only 101 made in these colors. The body is rust free and laser beam straight, the doors shut like a new car. Repainted its original medium blue metallic, it's laid out evenly and polished to a glass finish. The matte finished blackout hood treatment adds great character. Sport mirrors and hood pins dress it up too. The glass is crystal clear and weatherstrips were replaced. The chrome is show quality and the stainless is polished. It was born with Magnum 500 wheels and is wearing them proudly. They are wrapped in reproduction Goodyear tires, F60-15s in front, G60-15s in back.
INTERIOR: Sharp looking blue interior in excellent shape. Down on the floor the carpet fits tight and the blue seatbelts were restored ($921). Door panels, headliner, visors look new. The seat is firm and reupholstered. The dash area is in excellent shape, the steering wheel was restored ($400) and it has an original Am-Fm radio. The rear shelf area is pristine.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Concourse restored engine compartment. The heart of it is it's VIN # matching Super Cobra Jet 429 ram air engine. The SCJ was very underrated at 375 hp, actual hp was over 425! They were built tougher than their little brother CJ and included an external oil cooler. This motor has been completely rebuilt. It has correct finned aluminum valve covers and complete ram air system. Its correctly dated smog system was concourse restored and bench tested ($479 pulley). NOS hoses, correct "alligator" radiator hose ($507). This one features optional power steering and brakes. The original brake booster was sent out and restored. They even paid $193 for the NOS master cylinder cap, gasket, and retainer clip. Original Fomoco radiator was recored, $1,075 correct numbered fan shroud in excellent shape which is very rare. $507 NOS battery hold down! The original wiper motor was restored. All the surfaces are smooth and neatly painted.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted real slick. The inside is all clean metal, also painted blue. It has reproduction stickers, weatherstrip and trunk mat. It includes a 15 inch Magnum wheel with a Goodyear Polyglass tire for a spare and the jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: It was flipped on a rotisserie, restored and detailed. Pristine floors that were painted red oxide primer with the right amount of blue overspray. All the suspension and steering front and back has been rebuilt and properly detailed. It came with the competition suspension and staggered rear shocks. The brake system was completely rebuilt, it has disc in front. The fuel system was completely restored. Right now, it does have a new custom exhaust system. Looking up at the motor it is spotless, has a concourse restored, dated starter ($689). VIN # matching, 4-speed close ratio trans. The original Hurst shifter was sent out and rebuilt. Original Drag Pack 3.91 traction lock rear end, the tag is still attached.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and all we had to do was fix the reverse lights, clean the headlight connection and replace a hood hinge.

That is as serious as a muscle car can get and a perfect specimen, just WOW !
I love the ford torino cobra scj
Amazed at the cost of the parts!!! Definitely do not damage/wreck this car! Enjoy these videos especially when Jay does them, actually liked the little burnout he would do at the end of the video more than the road test.
Very cool & rare car, great color combo, stunning! You describe the cars great Jay, always with honesty. Love the channel. If I hit the lotto I'll be your best customer!
PS sounds awsome thanks Mike and Nico for testdriving and photografy 🤟 😊 😊
I’m a Chevy guy but that’s one nice ride! Beautiful car!
Beautiful! I always preferred this size to the pony cars, regardless of brand. A very special car!
It's the one that got away. Thanks for showing!
Where the heck do you get like new Good Year GT Polyglas tires? What an amazing restoration. If my garage wasn't already packed with a Range Rover, a Porsche GT2 RS and an E class Benz I would consider it...hell I'm still going to think about it anyway, what a car!
Fantastic. Just love all your very cool cars. Watching from New Zealand
Quite the car. You get some great examples. Thanks Jay!
Like Rick said, Just WOW!!!
Saw one I the 70’s, rare
You forgot about the cracked connecting rods that will not move around like conventional level flat surfaces on the rods and rod caps. This prevented the notorious BBC & BBD connecting rod spinning the bearings requiring an engine repair or rebuilding.
All that money supposedly spent on the small details and the dash has cracks?
Who cares
A beautiful car. It would need the correct tail pipes to be concours as you mentioned, but easily corrected.
Like these it's really beautiful ❤
It looks fast sitting.
Fyi...the 429 SCJ is a very rare engine. It was the basis for the Ford Boss 429 Engines that were shipped to karKraft by Ford to build the 429 Boss Mustangs.
Concourse restoration and there are rusty bolts in the engine compartment
It WAS a Concours. Cars get driven after that and start showing the wear. C’mon dude!
Monster
Looks like a Maverick from behind. If you can afford $110:000 plus tax for a SCJ, you can afford the parts prices.
And a Maverick looks like a 1968 Camero from behind.
Beautiful car
Superb ford v8 from the batcave 🦇, performance should Be able to doo warpspeed 10 engage captain Jay grams 🤩 🤩, thanks Jay grams president of volo auto museum and russel for perfect photografy from tom your friend now and always 😊😊😊😊

Very Nice........
I had a 70 GT 351c 4 SP shaker hood grabber blue my wife took it in our divorce i sure miss that car.
I thought the drag pack came with 4.30 rear gear?
Came with both 3:91/4:30 as a option.
Is it a real SCJ?
Take both my kidneys......don't need a liver do you?😁
Doesn't look like the 429 scj heads, more like the 428 scj.
What you think it looks like means nothing
Take care of Jasmine for me ,gorgeous im in love!!!Do you need a dish washer😂😂😂or willing to make a donation to Make a wish foundation! It's so pretty i can cry 😢
Huge fail by Ford to not have a tachometer in a car like this.
@@bmepdoc9675 I remember them. With that motor they should have been standard
Add one if that's what you want
Negative. Everything was an option. Look at the invoice.@@JohnDoe-wy2py
CJ and SCJ had tach installed.
I noticed the bottom lower rear corner of the driver's side door has two metal seam areas that are pre-bubbling rust, with the same bottom corner of the door/window panel covering has a wear hole in it. The instrument panel clear cover is all foggy from age, and only a few hairline cracks on the dash panel, spray can black paint under the dash, headliner is all wrinkled and wadded up above the passenger door, and more speak's for the trust in the engine and drive train rebuilding. Don't just walk away from the non-professional whatever on this car, you need to actually run away from this car with all the surprise headaches waiting on whoever buys this SCJ. Did you put a snake camera down the oil-check dip stick metal tube to make sure the engine has 4 bolt mains with the cracked connecting rods ? Go figure !
The car was flawless when it was sold to a Dealer in Florida in January. There the hood was bent. Sat outside during the Mecum auction where they turned down $85K. Whoever detailed the car probably put products on it that hazed the cluster. Cluster was original and clear when it was sold. Dash pad is original and in great shape. Impossible to find a NOS blue pad. That car has been through a lot since it was sold. I am pretty sure the person that restored it has tons of videos and never claimed it to be Concourse. I am pretty sure the person that restored it hates the word Concourse. Those hinges were NOS hinges. Ford owners know the procedure to close a Ford hood. This procedure was not followed. Kind of sad to see her in this state. Door panels are original and that tear can be fixed. There are several people who saw this vehicle in person before it was sold. Definitely did not have these issues.@@bmepdoc9675
Does the clock work? Radio? Details are everything….
