Also the sari’s design is so helpful in clarifying the process of the pallu separate from the central pleating. Mandira has done justice to this sari.

I love how Mandira and Vidya wear saris unlike so many other women in Bollywood. Western dresses are good but saris have a glam factor all their own ; leaving something to the imagination.

Very helpful. My partner is Indian and we will be attending an Indian wedding in a couple of months. I have been planning on wearing a Sari but I haven't got a single idea on putting it on. I've got a couple more months to practice from this video. Wish me luck 😚

Any opinions on non Indian wearing a sari to a non Indian event. I accidentally bought one on Amazon a fee years ago (was just admiring them, never planned to buy. A days later I got a package and it turned out I had accidentally press 1 click order on Amazon)
So anyway no I have this beautiful sari and not sure if it's okay for me to wear.

Thank you for this , as a non-indian woman, I find it very hard for me to find someone to show me how to wear a saree. My husband is Indian , by the way, I wear karmeez/abaya a lot for weddings and other occasions. Never wear a sari before so this DEC I will definitely buy a sari n wear it to my husband's nephews - wedding

This is exactly how I wear my saree but I also pin up the extra fabric that we pull up on the right so that it won't come off and hang loose under the pleats.

I go to this video every time I wear a saree. Simple and clear. Just need a better angle for where to start the pleats. .my pleats tend to be too much to the right and then I'm twisting the whole saree to the left. Otherwise it turns out perfect.

She said it's a lycra petticoat, or spanx or corset. You could get those at lingerie stores or stores where you get leggings/ shapewear and stuff. Or you could check Myntra, Clovia or Zivame
Blouses that mandira wears are superb ? Which brand in many movies.. 3/4 sleeves? Brand...

Mandira is so pretty and classy. I know this is an older video but I'm curious how one goes kinda 'hands free' with this style. Its like you lose one hand to the invisible 'cast' to hold up the pallu :) Any suggestions from the ladies who frequently rock this style?
Fair question though.... 😊. If u want to use both of ur hands, occasionally, just fold the palla in the middle n put it on ur shoulder for a while. Or bring one edge of ur palla from ur back to front (on ur right side) n gently insert in ur hip. If u have to use both the hands on some work continously, then this style is not suitable. U must have the palla pinned with pleats on the shoulder with ur blouse, and, the length of the palla left on the back can be little bit more... Hope this helps. 😊

2:28 I didn't quite get this part. I don't have any extra fabric after I make my pleats 🤔 What am I doing wrong?
Also, I wanted to know, do the pleats come right in the centre of your legs or should they be slightly towards the side?
One more thing, I can't do the closed pallu. Whenever I try to do a closed pallu, it becomes uneven and ruins the shape
Tuck in the pleats right under your belly button. And, for the pallu to look even, you need to take pleats and go along the end. So that it won't mess in between and it will give you a great look
