0:46 - 1:06 The latter argument is the only one that holds any water. It's tough to accept for some people, but if you are not capable of attracting as many people to your product as another entity that produces the same but better product, then you do not deserve as much revenue. I'm sure they do work hard, but not as many people are watching it, so that's just how it is.
Yep. And let's describe a hypothetical similar situation. Let's say that there are two people who have mastered woodworking and craft wooden toys / sculptures to sell. Both excel in their craft and are capable of making beautiful works of art with their carvings, but let's say that they differ in what kind of styles they prefer to work with. For example, maybe one makes real animals and the other makes mythical animals. Now bring in the customers. Let's say that 1,000 people buy the first artist's real animal statues and 10,000 people buy the second artist's mythical animal statues. Do the two artists deserve the same total income?
The real money is in advertizing, other companies paying for their brand to be shown at the game, the players using their shoes... And of course they pay more or less depending on to how many people the said advertizing will get. You cant expect someone who has a reach of 100.000 people to be paid the same as someone who has a reach of millions and millions.
1:04 There was a recent care about this, where the main issue with equal pay in sports is that women teams often opt for having a more steady income per game + healthcare, while men teams tend to go with a high-risk-high-reward option, with less (or no) guaranteed pay per game, but more bonus money if they succeed in tournaments. That, and of course men sports being more successful as a media business. With women being pretty much ~50% of the world population, i'm sure women sports could have just as much revenue, and thus higher pay for the atheletes, as long as as many women as men chose to watch it as men do with mens sports.

Wonder if Mouse told him the theory of everything after the end of Disc 1 (the assassination attempt) was a possible fever dream of Squall's dying brain.
Athletes are paid what they’re worth from viewers. Hockey has less viewers than basketball, football and soccer, that’s why the highest paid hockey player has only around a 20 million dollar contract as opposed to some of these hundreds of millions dollar contracts in other sports.
Greetings from Argentina, this episode is absolutely terrific. i light so much! jeje randy and butters are my favorite characters ever! jeje thanks Dash! i really enjoy when you explain some jokes that are maded from northamerican people normally... i mean, from your idiosuncrazy.
There's definitely a few real cards that are being named dropped, like Elvish Mystic and a few others. Most are just made up cards that don't exist, but absolutely could. As a Magic player, this episode is hilarious. The South Park crew paid tribute to one of the greatest card games with this episode.
I haven't watched the full episode in a bit, but I'm pretty sure that all of the card names are real cards. However... how and when they're being played makes no sense. I assume that Trey was at his computer writing the script and googled "Magic the Gathering cards"... then plugged in the names of the first dozen cards that sounded funniest to him.
I just noticed, Sargeant Yates called himself "Detective Harris" at 13:25, That's not the first time they couldn't get characters names straight, like with Mr. Stotch's first name and Jimmy's last name.
I can’t imagine this episode being anybody’s first South Park episode, but I’m pretty sure it’s a make or break episode. You’re either going to love it or hate it after watching it. Pure comedy gold.
Hey man! Randy Marsh does have a screw loose! You're spot on! But that's why he's literally my favorite character....along with Mr. Mackay lol Love your South Park reactions bro! Best American show still running!
Let me put it as simple as possible, I work in machining, I cut metal parts for a living. If I'm cranking out oh, 500 pieces a night, and on the very same job, Wendy is cranking out 5, night after night. We're both working the same job, we're both working hard, but at the end of the day, the parts that I'm making and thus the company is selling is paying for Wendy to continue to have a job, because if everyone was working like Wendy, the doors would close, so I damned well BETTER be getting paid more than her. Hell, she should be fired, because she's needlessly draining the company money when the machine is capable of putting 100x more parts out.
It is a business. Two people running a resteraunt might both work just as hard but if one is in an upscale area bringing in better paying clientele it makes more and thus has more money with which to pay its staff. Athletes are the same way, the entire income is made off public draw, if fewer people are spending money watching it it hazards to reason they’ll be payed less because they’re making the company less. Granted the fact athletes make so much and whine about their pay makes it really hard to care. Tons of people bust their asses every day at their jobs and make less in a year than many athletes do in a single game.
NBA players already pay to keep the WNBA afloat since it operates at a loss. Bill Burr had a funny bit about the pay gap between female and male athletes.
The NBA Yearly revenue was 10 Billion in recent years. WNBA Yearly revenue is up 10% from 2019 to 2020 at a whopping 86 million. So... 100x the revenue coming in = 100x pay for stars. It is equality... just reality. Problem is people cry equality until they get it... then they want Equity.
I love playing magic. Haven't had the time to hang out with the guys but we play when we go to conventions a lot. They got game table areas and we get to play with people from around the states. I got into magic 4-5 years ago and it's been funny, easy to get into. Funny episode and another classic.
they don't sell any tickets that's why they don't make as much. women just aren't as into sports and don't watch it as much and men are focused on men's sports because they already have a favorite team and it's most likely not a female team. if women want women athletes to get paid more then they should be supporting them by buying tickets, buying jerseys and watching women's sports on tv!
This episode was a later one that was magical like the older episodes. Such a great idea that was well played in such a short episode time length. Great video! The Magic Bush is obviously next in line.
I think you earn what you bring to the table. As much as it sucks, but there are professions that simply earn more despite putting in the same work and difficulty.
Omg i just noticed when they go into the basement of cit walk you can see Wing there! I think thats the first tine they showed that character since the episode she was featured in .
People can make the argument that the ladies perhaps put in the same amount of work as the guys but fundamentally women’s and men’s basketball are completely different products. They aren’t even remotely equivalent in terms of physical capabilities and that’s clear to anyone who’s even watched the games side by side. That’s a key reason why they DONT end up with similar viewership and therefore similar pay. The inherent biological differences between men and women matter in explaining why the difference in pay exists, and pretending they don’t play a factor, or that it’s wrong and demanding special treatment is nonsense. Male sports are more entertaining to those who enjoy watching, which also happens to be mostly men who watch. It’s their choice who they want to watch and it’s not the fault of men that the women’s sports don’t do as well. There’s just as many ladies as guys who could be watching the games, but they don’t. Basically if the ladies won’t pay to watch women’s sports and support them by being regular consumers themselves, then why do they have the right to DEMAND men watch and/or support it financially against their will? If we taught some basic economics and a little common sense instead of propaganda for a woke religion, this wouldn’t even be controversial, it’d be freaking obvious!
WOMEN don’t even watch women’s sports! They watch the NBA and NFL! Some women’s sports are fun to watch, like tennis and soccer; but women’s basketball is just terrible. As they said on Family Guy, “These gals sure make the game look difficult.” 😂
11:30 Sending Charging Rhino to the graveyard and casting Life's Legacy would allow you to draw four cards. Then he plays Crackling Doom and Abzan Battle Priest. (I don't know how he does all of this with 4 mana on the field, considering that's 9 mana so far.) Then he taps 1 mana, plays 1 card, plays a land card (mana card), and then the police bust in. So... the cards are all real, but not sure how he pulled the extra 5 mana out, and we never made it to Combat Phase. >.< Cops ruin the fun before combat begins.
Magic the Gathering is still pretty popular, it's Commander Format being the most, having collabs with Doctor Who, Godzilla, Vocaloid (mostly a focus on Hatsune Miku obviously) Lord of the Rings and soon Marvel just to name a few, it has seen a rather big surge in the last few years internationally, especially Japan.
Randy Marsh absolutely needs to be in prison! I still love him though he is by far my favorite character! I used to play Magic in my late teens early 20s with my group of friends/roomates. Those were really fun years! Great reaction as always, I really love the Kenny subtitles!

Sweet! Always stoked to see you post a new one of these.🙏
Little girl! Check behind your ear! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's illegal and it's Wroung! 😂
Best birthday gift was this episode. Keep up the great content bud
I can’t imagine this episode being anybody’s first South Park episode, but I’m pretty sure it’s a make or break episode. You’re either going to love it or hate it after watching it. Pure comedy gold.
I was waiting for you to do this one buddy, nice one! 😃👍🐓
My favorite part of this entire episode is when Cartman mocks the Asian men: "5 dorrar! 10 dorrar!"
"Ah, vait..full dram sett? Bat II onlj see 1 peddal-baas dram."
Randy is a Limousine ridin’ jet flying kiss stealing wheeling dealing son of a gun!
WOOO!!!
"Oh little girl please check behind your ear" "Oh Look There It Is!!!" I lost it
NBA players already pay to keep the WNBA afloat since it operates at a loss.
Randy Marsh does not have a screw loose. He is a conqueror warrior. He goes in full on EVERYTHING he does...
I love playing magic. Haven't had the time to hang out with the guys but we play when we go to conventions a lot. They got game table areas and we get to play with people from around the states. I got into magic 4-5 years ago and it's been funny, easy to get into. Funny episode and another classic.
I checked and aparently all the cards shown in this episode are genuine
they don't sell any tickets that's why they don't make as much. women just aren't as into sports and don't watch it as much and men are focused on men's sports because they already have a favorite team and it's most likely not a female team. if women want women athletes to get paid more then they should be supporting them by buying tickets, buying jerseys and watching women's sports on tv!
This episode was a later one that was magical like the older episodes. Such a great idea that was well played in such a short episode time length. Great video! The Magic Bush is obviously next in line.
Ronda Rousay said it too. She bring more money to the table so she can earn more. Thats all. She was clearly against the whiny attitudee :)
You know what watching chickens playing Magic card 🃏 games do sound like fun 👍🏼
Like the Mexican with the mustache who pulls out the rooster 😂
"okay..alright".. Freaking Cartman 🤣
great reaction. and my response to the WNBA question is literally Bill Burr's clip "women failed the WNBA". Might be one to react to!
The girls volleyball jokes then Wendy going up and seing stan like fuck was the funniest shit in the world
7:21 ‘Thank you so very much’ 😂😂
I think you earn what you bring to the table.
The NBA actually has to cover the costs of the WNBA, as they don't bring in enough to cover the costs of renting the stadium and such
Lol Cartman I think he's smiling you guys 😂
if they had named McNuggets, "pecker(s)", I may have lost it fam
WOMEN don’t even watch women’s sports! They watch the NBA and NFL!
Some women’s sports are fun to watch, like tennis and soccer; but women’s basketball is just terrible. As they said on Family Guy, “These gals sure make the game look difficult.” 😂
I believe that music theme at 12:25 was originally from 2001 A Space Odyssey.

Sending Charging Rhino to the graveyard and casting Life's Legacy would allow you to draw four cards.
Then he plays Crackling Doom and Abzan Battle Priest. (I don't know how he does all of this with 4 mana on the field, considering that's 9 mana so far.)
Then he taps 1 mana, plays 1 card, plays a land card (mana card), and then the police bust in.
So... the cards are all real, but not sure how he pulled the extra 5 mana out, and we never made it to Combat Phase. >.<
Cops ruin the fun before combat begins.
Thank you. One of my all time favorite episodes!
The first time I saw this episode was at 4am and I woke up my whole family laughing so hard
