I met her at the airport after one of my flight lessons. She’s very encouraging and gave me positive advice. 💪🏽😎✈️
For me,42 years of doing the same.I loved every moment of it and the people I did it with.If only to start again. Cherish the memories,Captain. They will brighten all the days to come.
I remember seeing her exiting the cockpit when I was on a flight from San Francisco to Portland in the 90s. The legendary Jim Brown and I were the only two black people on the plane and we gave each other a look of astonishment when we saw her. That was almost thirty years ago, I will always remember the petite, dignified, beautiful black pilot. Amazing, sister!!

@0:46 I was a little Black girl who didn't know that it was possible for me to be a pilot. I'm sooooooo happy to see her opening doors for the next generation. I would love to see @ABCNews do a follow-up story on Captain Claiborne to allow her to share her story in further detail.
