I don't think I will ever thank you enough for introducing me to Cardiacs and Tim Smith. I've been following your suggestions for years with great delight but man, this is just another level. I've been mainly listening to Cardiacs since July and I don't think it will end soon. My musical life is now a better place.
I know a lot of fans are here because of Steven Wilson but i would urge you to check out Cardiacs. Absolutely genius band that for some reason escaped everyone's attention for years. I have never heard a band sound like them and probably never will. Thanks for this Steven! Had no idea something like this existed. Beautiful rendition.

I’ve only recently discovered Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree. It has led me to discover other great artists like Riverside and Pineapple Thief. Now the man himself has led me to another source of great music. Steven you are definitely a genius and your humility shown with this wonderful tribute to a man I don’t know yet but will discover is a touching and humble tribute. We are so lucky to have you in this generation. Hope you are keeping safe and well, we all appreciate you so much.
Never heard about Cardiacs before this post. Since then, I can´t stop to hear Tim´s unique, marvelous musical universe. So rich, so intense, unpredictable, absolutely ingenious. Thank you very much.
Thank you for the introduction to this artist, I'm looking forward to exploring his work. From your eulogy and others I found online it's obvious he made the world a better place for many people and was a truly admirable person.
How sad it is, to experience such a great song for the first time the day after the composer passed away. Thank you Steven for this great eulogy and for spreading great music.
I did not know much about them but your poignant tribute will make me do more listening . This is a magnificent cover and a fitting tribute . I am sitting here waiting for a call about a releative who has had covid for a week and we have just been told they are taking her off life support . This music is helping my soul.
My dear friend introduced me to Tim's music. I introduced him to Steven's. Sadly, my friend took his life a couple of years ago. So, having listened to this beautiful recreation of a Cardiacs song, I'm going to listen to PT's Even Less…
This is beautiful Steven. Thank you for sharing. Your work ethic is inspirational and your sentiment for passing musical artists is profound and speaks to how I feel when I lose a favorite artist. In the past 10 years or so, it has been hard to be a fan of the music I like. Been suffering a lot of loss. There have been days where I do nothing but just sit and listen when a favorite artist passes. Your reverence helps. Thank you.
This is So Beautiful a cover Stephen W ~ The whirld lost an absolute genius today. So very sad. Tim Smith was such a priceless human being. He leaves a hole in our lives that only he could fill. Deep condolences to each & every ne of our Cardiacs family 😭❤️

This is a beautiful cover! I don't know much about Cardiacs, but I'm sure Tim Smith would've loved this. RIP Tim. I will be looking more in Cardiacs now.
S, thanks from Spokane, WA. Saw Cardiacs in the late 80s during an expat stay in the U.K. for a Si Valley tech company--not the iPod company. Sad at the news yet thankful for this memory of the band and in particular Kavus Torabi. KT amongst others put me to thinking differently about playing one versus multiple instruments. Sad with you Steven and also happy to think again of this influential ensemble. Please, again soon post-pandemic, visit us here at The Bing in Spokane. We'll chase you again along the West Coast. Dave. P.S. Favorite Cardiacs tune, Bellyeye from Sing to God...explaining will too long and likely bore you. Thanks again.
Oh, no! This saddens me on so many levels. We lost an incredible artist, writer and guitarist. A beautiful soul ended in a horrible way that was drawn out for a decade. And his passing went mostly unnoticed (thank you, Steven). For the sake of music and all matters human I sincerely hope that Tim being robbed from us will mark the demise of the music industry.
I've never heard of the Cardiacs before today, this cover and the sad passing of a member. I'll say it's interesting. I might give the band a listen now. Thanks.
it was a very sad moment for us the fans of Tim, yet i don't know enough of his illness and wheather it was giving him too great suffering, yet i saw some kind of happiness in his eyes when i watched a video of him appearing at an occasion arranged in the honor of him receiving some kind of a musical award.. (at a church..) in any case he is in the highest heaven now, for having given so much of himself to people not only through his music bit also through his honest lyrics.
It saddens me deeply that someone with souch talent got lost in a sea of uninspired and empty music, but thank you for introducing me to his music and i hope that you are doing fine.
If you don't know Cardiacs then do it now. They're unique but if you wanna know what they sound like, it's like Frank Zappa meets The Sex Pistols meets Gentle Giant meets Dead Kennedys meets Faust.
