You shouldn't have to hire the geek squad just to install the damn thing. Make it work for normal people with normal computer knowledge. They could seriously update the UI, hands down that would bring a ton of people to the game. Hotbars, like ffxiv, and mouse and camera control would be great.
I would like to see them revamp the game entirely with FFXIV level graphics, but same gameplay, story, and balance as FFXI CoP (with the exception that quests are easier to find and do without having to look at a wiki). I did the survey within the first week of it being live. I'm looking forward to what comes from the survey. I hope they publish an overview of the results.
I remember in 2009ish/2010ish, people used to say how dead the game was and it had a year or 2 of life in it at best... While i stopped playing on retail servers in 2011, ffxi is far from dead and probably will not die until its player base gets old and passes away. This game holds a place in all of our hearts that we collectively will never forget
@@SageLakshmi that’s cool~ I like the game as it is and I’m fine paying a sub to support the game I’ve been playing for so long, personally. I don’t really have any desire to play any of the private servers, myself, but everyone has a right to their own opinions~
I personally would love to see more expansions. there are many areas mentioned in game that we never went to. lots of places to go. I loved it when adoulin came out since we went west of main area. getting a boat in selbina would have made it way better instead of a teleport though
FF11 gooners will never disappear no matter how hard square tries to make us into FF14 gooners we have to will this games future into existence with our collective autism
Honestly just make it a paired service at this point, if u pay and play 14 it should bounce into 11 also. This would give players something to do between content droughts on 14 when it starts to go stale. Some may even give 11 a try and if they do like playing with friends could find more reasons to keep 14's sub going between content releases. Plus 11's not as massive of a payment and is already a "finished" game in that sense it would just be a small bonus for everyone to see where FFXIV got its roots from.
I played FFXI for a short while I would really love dual sub. I am probably going to return once im done with xiv stuff But that would happen alot sooner with dual sub.
im not a first time player of ffxi, but i am new, started on retail 2 weeks ago, been having an absolute blast on the game, in fact its become one of my favourite mmos and its the main one ive been playing the last month, i play on horizonxi too but retail has won me over
As an FFXIV player, I've never played FFXI, but having FFXI bundled with my FFXIV sub would definitely incentivize me to give it a try. Despite me being an "Outsider" to the FFXI community, even I know how important that game is to many people, it's one of those games that defined a lot of people's Childhood/Teenagehood. XI walked so XIV could run... Even though its influence on XIV wasn't exactly a great thing, considering how atrocious 1.0 was and all. But still, XI is the main reason why XIV even exists to begin with. So Yeah, It's clear to me that the game itself will never truly shut down, not as long as there are players actively playing and paying for a sub. And even IF there was a chance of shut down, private server exists, they'll gladly welcome any and all Retail refugees if the worst came to pass
I missed the survey but I wish they would combined it with ff14. We just got a raid themed around 11 that increased a lot of interest in 14 players in the game. Wow has wow classic and 11 is kinda like 14 classic.
liked and subbed brother i just found your channel, havent played retail in years so its a good view on whats going on. i was wondering if you could make maybe a prime ws showcase, just found out about these prime weapons the stats look hella nutty and ive been wondering how the ws's look, sadly nobody has made a showcase yet
I have been making individual reviews of each weapon as I have access to them (and time). As far as a showcase goes~ I could definitely do it eventually! It just takes time to get the WS usable outside of sortie. Unfortunately from a visual perspective they are slightly underwhelming - each of the primes is a purple-color version of the relics, and each of the weaponskills is the same as the relic weaponskills visually.
I'll never play again but I still like looking at the wiki lol. Kinda funny. Plugins keeping it on life support, inaccessible endgame, stat system is an abomination, battle log not fit for purpose. I think it will be around for a while yet but personally I'm happy to let it go now.
A combination of "Fixing" the way the UI works for menuing/macroing a bit as it feels so archaic in a post-PS2 state and combining sub (maybe an extra $5-10 a month to access 11 even) would get me to try. I've tried numerous times to get into FF11, Every 2-3 years i give it as much time as I can but even after the painful instal/setting account stuff, The menu access alone and how you operate the game's interface with movement constantly put me in a state of pain. Longest session i've gone with was 5-6 hours and even then the way going into menus to do specific actions just wasn't vibing unless i would plug a controller in (Which it was made for but i rather not use one as a Keyboard and mouse player)
It's definitely a learned aspect that might feel dated to new players, but i think a lot of long term players would struggle with too many changes to the UI ~ Maybe if they included a "classic" and a "modern" option for new players!
@@HeghmohTV For me specifically it was all the main menu options. Navigating menus at least for combat and to interact with NPCs for quests/AH and such was easy to adjust to in my time. But pulling up inventory, or other top bar menus was like pulling teeth in memorizing which keys activate what. All i think a modern control setup just needs is the ability to rebind keys. I wouldn't want to take away macroing and pull a Runescape EOC cause that would outright ruin what already works well enough.
Lol if windower or dual boxing (botting additional chars) was ever clamped down upon, then SE would severely shoot itself in the foot losing subs. In fact, it would be more akin to shooting FFXI in the head.
@@Darwinion i agree that why i said then add it in the game so everyone can enjoy it then let other. There a few us who like to play the game how it is. I ask SE about it when i have aeonic bug and they said it a third party tool so i didn't use it but course 90% player use it.
Been wanting to play through FFXI at some point and i did get started but not too far yet. There's a lot I think they should do about the game but a majority of the things I would like to see done would be better if they just did a remake of the game from the ground up.
It’s definitely from a different era. As someone who’s been playing since release, there’s not much I would want them to change from a remake perspective- I love the game how it is, personally.
I couldnt imagine playing vanilla XI. No windower, no luas, no dual boxing. I play every day and the Odyssey and Sortie content still has me hooked. But I couldn't recommend a new player to start vanilla from scratch. The disaster of PoL will probably kill 90% of them off anyway, before they even start.
I think that’s how most people feel, but the draw of third party tools doesn’t really become a thing until post-99 and there’s a lot of leveling and missions and game to enjoy as a new player with a vanilla experience. But I agree POL is inexcusable and the install process is an abomination
I really struggle thinking about what I'd like out of the game. As someone who has played off and on since launch, often for years at a time, the one area I feel Xi fails compared to XIV is secondary content. I made an alt on Bahamut and based on my 2 decades with the game the flow chart is Unlock RoE + Trusts + Unity Get to 20 - unlock subjob and chocobo license/mount Unlock Adouin and Imprimaturs Get to 30 - unlock DNC Level DNC for access to spectral jig Progress to 50 Do limit break quests while leveling. Progress regular MSQ along with Rhapsodies for key items completing the 3 nations, Zilart, CoP, Aht Urghan, and Wings of the Goddess Progress to 99 Get i119 Bayld gear Start working on Domain Invasion/Ambuscade to further gear up Collect certain Empyrean pieces Clear your 3 Shaol RoEs + try to solo clear the Vagary fights for Empy enhancement Finish Adoulin and Rhapsodies while starting to work on Sortie, getting your 3-5k gallimaufrey a day +2 some empyrean armor, hopefully have a stage 3-4 Ambuscade weapon by now Complete TVR Once all of this is done, you've experienced leveling, some progressing, etc... what is left for you is Hope you can get carried through all 4 Dynamis-D wins Try to find people to run Omen with for the straps and accessories Run Ambuscade over and over to get currencies for a Mythic/Empyrean weapon Grind Sortie and Odyssey every. Single. Day. And that's it, that's the game. There's no mount collecting because they're almost all from login points. Exceptions being Fenrir, Sheep, Malboro, Omega, Raptor, Chocobo, and whatever that Zilart hover thing is. Chocobo racing is kind of a meme Decorating your mog house Most available content is directly tied to character strength progression, there's very little in the way of side distractions for yourself. XIV has mounts, glam, triple triad cards, orchestrion rolls. It's very difficult to login to XI after you've completed the story because a lot of the grinds that you do are to make content you're already doing faster. I don't think many people care to work on V20/V25 clears. Most just want their armor augmented so they never have to touch it again, which is done with death strats. Sortie isn't interacted with like previous pyramid content (Sky, Sea, ZNM). People aren't clearing each boss a week then using the KIs to fight the final boss, it's just focusing on what objectives your party comp can reasonably do every night. XIV is also repetitive, it's X.0 patch, 2 EX fights, Savage raid, then with each patch a new trial/raid until the new expansion is out. XI gives you a small amount of highly grindy content and it's all you have for years at a time. I do not know how to fix this with the dev resources available.
I always think of XI as Horizontal Progression (everything is still relevant - you can do sortie, odyssey, ambuscade, dynamis, omen, make relics, mythics, empyreans, prime, etc - it's all situationally useful) XIV is Vertical Progression, as soon as you step up the ladder to the newest rung, everything before it is novelty/dated. They definitely incentivize this with content churn and collectibles, but if you miss a patch youre "behind". Definitely two differnt styles of content, XI, as an older game, is definitely older "style", but personally I prefer it~
@@HeghmohTV XI's horizontal progression has gotten eroded with the implementation of i119 gear, sadly. Not many delve pieces still in use, a lot of AF and Relic pieces only being used for WSD and even those get crept out a bit by Nyame being so splashable. Omen has maintained its relevance thanks to its accessories but even the fabled Malignance gear lost its 5/5 status. Relic weapons like Ragnarok end up not even making the top 5 best greatswords in the game, losing out to Zantetsuken X and augmented Montante +1. There is very much vertical progressing in XI now with things like Sparks > Skirmish/Delve/AF and Relic +1 > Ambuscade +2/Escha/Empyrean +1 > Maliganance > Empyrean +2/Unaugmented Odyssey > Empy +3/Augmented Odyssey. If you're a fresh 99 WAR, DRK, or DRG and you find a generous multi-boxer to take you into Kalunga you get to skip to the 2nd to last gear tier in exchange for a couple months of Sparks farming.
I played FFXI for over a decade. (2002-2013) on the PS2. I no longer play because Square-Enix decided the filthy console peasants were not good enough for the Seekers of Audolin expansion. I was angry that because I did not play on PC I was not deserving of a proper ending to my FFXI experience. Around the same time, I was selected to be a beta tester for FFXIV on the PS3. So I jumped to ff14 and have not looked back...until FF14 7.1 with the 'Echoes of Vana 'Diel' content. I do miss FFXI. I was the greatest Black Mage who ever lived, and always felt it was an injustice I was forced out because I played on console. However, if the game could be emulated on a PS4, I would gladly pay a subscription fee for both games. I still keep in contact with my old linkshell on XI, and if I could come back on PS4/PS5, I would. Never got to experience Seekers of Audolin, and I understand going from LV 1 to LV 99 is no longer the arduous Odessey it was in the Rise of the Zilart days. If Square-Enix wants to keep the game going, they should reach out to us console players.
Interestingly in the Survey there was a qustion if you asked what would bring you back to the game and one of the options was "console versions" ~ so maybe some future console suport isnt outside the realm of possibility!
I play XIV intermittently, but they are not even remotely similar games. The unfortunate truth is that XI is a very dated format, and I’m worried most people’s expectation for “updating to the modern era” would involve removing so many things that make XI what it is. Ultimately, all we can do is hope they keep the heart of the game intact
In my opinion, the game needs a major over haul. Its 20+ year old PS2 code and at this point I can only imagine adding new content is like playing Jenga with that code. That's why we haven't had the luxuries of FFXIV like new jobs, races, regions, expansions, etc. in over a decade now. This would mean they would need to rebuild the game and devtools from the ground up, which begs the question if they would put that type of resources into the game and would they see an roi. Only time will tell.
I don't even know if I want new regions, races or jobs at this point in FFXI, but agreed we have seen the results of aging architecture on the game (i.e. minor updates breaking items or menus, etc). I think it's a careful balance of "overhaul" and "maintining the game the fans and players have played for decades". Either way I'm looking forward to seeing what the future brings.
@@BlazeBuds the mobile remake of FFXI that was being produced by Nexon was cancelled several years ago. The general consensus was that it would be a poor representation of the game and hurt more than it could help
i played through chains of promathia and tried dynamis. the end game gear was so unobtainable because of bots auto-voking NMs, and dynamis got you such little currency compared with how many people you had to bring at the time, i realized maybe a handful of people would ever get the really cool stuff. it was so restricted and snail paced i just lost interest. not to say that it hasn't changed but i have zero desire to go back, ever for lack of want of other games id rather play
@@tjudawous to each his own! That era of the game is long gone, it’s much different now~ but there are definitely plenty of other games to play if you’re not interested
I would play FFXI again, but the Launcher, installation, installing 3rd party apps and the HD texture mods and relearning how to use Lua scripts, not to mention dealing with the Gil sellers, is keeping me away from rejoining FFXI.
It’s definitely a undertaking, personally I don’t use any third part hd packs, and I think the game still looks nice in its old age, and playing on a more moderately sized server vs Asura tends to help with the RMT spam :p
Agree with everyrhing almost. Depends on the server for gilsellers. Im on Phoenix, and although we have them, the yells arent anywhere near as ridiculous as on Asura. Ive seen screenahots from there where they fill the chat log up with their crap in seconds.
If they fixed the interface, the game would have 3x more players. They don't even need to touch gameplay. The interface is just so, so scuffed and old as helllllll
Definitely a little dated~ I'd love to see some official hotbars or something a bit more complex than the macro palettes. And the dream of moveable interface elements...but who knows if thats even possible
I love if they just made it easier to figure out what to do. I like playing the game but having a wiki open 24/7 and how obscure everything is this is never going to be a game I'll play casually. Once I finish the story that's it.
That is suppose to be what getting a linkshell is for. If they focus on bringing back grouping and events then you just ask friends instead let them use the wikis lol
I returned to Vana'diel 10 years ago for a few months, purely out of nostalgia, while waiting for the next major patch of FFXIV. I really enjoyed it and was surprised at how solo-friendly the game had already become back then. I think FFXI will eventually shift to an offline mode someday, even if not right away. I also believe FFXIV might take a similar approach in about 20 years.
I’m not sure~ I think the amount of development to convert a game to “offline” is larger than some people may think and it couldn’t have the same monetization platform as XI has as a subscription based game. They certainly have streamlined the level up process significantly, but endgame sit still very much so group-based content.
I don’t play on horizon. But from what I’ve heard from others on stream is that horizon’s active online player count is less than asura’s (one of the official servers) online player count. You can check the ffxiah database : www.ffxiah.com/database - which shows 70,000 active (have sold something on the AH in the past month) players.
I'm playing on the Horizon servers. The main reason why is simple. I don't think the dates infrastructure of FFXI is worth the monthly sub. Play online is absolutely garbage, they need to update much of the game. Horizon showed that's doable
@HeghmohTV the sub itself isn't the issue, I feel the same is too dated to justify the sub. I would want to see much of the game's UI, servers, launcher, and graphics updated before I resub, the main one being the launcher. It's a phenomenal game I hope the public interest stokes the flames a little.
With the release of the alliance raid in 14 and seeing how much cooler Galka look than Roegadyn IMO I've been wanting to try out 11, but the sub fee being separate from 14 is a massive turn off. I don't wanna unsub from 14 to play 11 and I refuse to have two MMO subs running at the same time. If they did the same thing that they used to do and WoW currently does where retail WoW (14) and classic WoW (11) are bundled into a single sub I'd give 11 a try without a second thought.
I played 75 era in the 75 era, I’m not all that interested in playing it again, personally. I like the game in its current state quite a bit! But everyone is allowed their own preference, glad you found something You like!
@@HeghmohTV no, sorry the direct link worked, it was the standard site link, very weird. I went to go check the sub cost again cause that's a personal break point, and the first site link in google didn't work, but the hyperlink to the sub fees did work, very strange. I did the survey, do I get a spice cookie?
Why would you waste time on game consoles?... Like that's really what you want them to do seriously... Please make another console Port! I'd tell them just to release the source code and be done with it. Don't care what you do after that. Let private servers take over.
Because it would bring in an influx of players to an aging game. Personally I'm not a fan of private servers, I quite enjoy the game as it was developed and delivered by the SE. Hopefully you find something you enjoy in the future!
I'll take anything I can get - I'm having fun with the game as is, so my expectations are already exceeded with what has been announced without considering any response from the survey.

But they are lazy ass , and the only reason ff11 is still around is die hards….. As a console player that played on console since 2003 I don’t like pc and I wish it was back on console
that was part of the survey! looks like bringing back console support is on their mind. I don't think they have any intention of getting rid of FFXI, however - they've stated the contraray and this survey is a great indication that theyre thinking about the future of the game

The servers never shut down. > .> The ps2 lost access to the servers. That's a massive difference. Also it wasn't because of Square. Sony shut down the network servers that allowed FFXI to access Square's servers.

I personally would love to see more expansions. there are many areas mentioned in game that we never went to. lots of places to go. I loved it when adoulin came out since we went west of main area. getting a boat in selbina would have made it way better instead of a teleport though
Hey Hegh, Brendan here. I did my duty and filled out the survey o7
You’re a true adventurer!
I've been pining for a combined sub for 11 + 14 for so long. It would absolutely drive me back to retail 11.
paying 13$ for both ff11 AND 14 ?
will NEVER happen, it would instantly doom ff11
Great video!
FF11 gooners will never disappear no matter how hard square tries to make us into FF14 gooners we have to will this games future into existence with our collective autism
@@shimapanzer9930 I’m doing my part!
i actually came from FFXIV and I started FFXI in 2019 and now I have 3 mythics working on my 4th for bard
@@Jkapricorn mythics are my nemesis, the quest never ends!!
FFXI was the greatest MMORPG i have ever played! Some of My Greatest Memories Are On FFXI! They Need To Make A Remake!
We're still here playing the official servers if you ever want to revisit! A lot of changes, but the heart is still there~
I played FFXI for a short while I would really love dual sub. I am probably going to return once im done with xiv stuff
But that would happen alot sooner with dual sub.
I think it would be a smart move!
I have the deepest fondest gaming memories from this game.
im not a first time player of ffxi, but i am new, started on retail 2 weeks ago, been having an absolute blast on the game, in fact its become one of my favourite mmos and its the main one ive been playing the last month, i play on horizonxi too but retail has won me over
There's somethign special about this game for me, too! Welcome to FFXI :)
I am not, nor I was FXI player and this video is random to me, but I am going to fill in that survey, as I want to play this game someday :)
Come play with us!
@@HeghmohTV They did not have option for "I have never played this", but I managed to go through it :P
I missed the survey but I wish they would combined it with ff14. We just got a raid themed around 11 that increased a lot of interest in 14 players in the game. Wow has wow classic and 11 is kinda like 14 classic.
I agree~
FINAL FANTASY XVII ONLINE here we gooooo~
I already goo'ed
I just want a return to the more social, community-based FFXI instead of a game based around the Trust system... aka playing with bots.
liked and subbed brother i just found your channel, havent played retail in years so its a good view on whats going on. i was wondering if you could make maybe a prime ws showcase, just found out about these prime weapons the stats look hella nutty and ive been wondering how the ws's look, sadly nobody has made a showcase yet
Just return and love it. Only thing they should adjust is stop windower and bot or just add it in.
I ask SE about it when i have aeonic bug and they said it a third party tool so i didn't use it but course 90% player use it.
damn the survey is over i wanted to do it.
100% id be back on xi if it had dual subs for it and xiv
Yeah they didn't have an option for how much I've played it, either.
😅
I really struggle thinking about what I'd like out of the game. As someone who has played off and on since launch, often for years at a time, the one area I feel Xi fails compared to XIV is secondary content. I made an alt on Bahamut and based on my 2 decades with the game the flow chart is
Unlock RoE + Trusts + Unity
Get to 20 - unlock subjob and chocobo license/mount
Unlock Adouin and Imprimaturs
Get to 30 - unlock DNC
Level DNC for access to spectral jig
Progress to 50
Do limit break quests while leveling.
Progress regular MSQ along with Rhapsodies for key items completing the 3 nations, Zilart, CoP, Aht Urghan, and Wings of the Goddess
Progress to 99
Get i119 Bayld gear
Start working on Domain Invasion/Ambuscade to further gear up
Collect certain Empyrean pieces
Clear your 3 Shaol RoEs + try to solo clear the Vagary fights for Empy enhancement
Finish Adoulin and Rhapsodies while starting to work on Sortie, getting your 3-5k gallimaufrey a day
+2 some empyrean armor, hopefully have a stage 3-4 Ambuscade weapon by now
Complete TVR
Once all of this is done, you've experienced leveling, some progressing, etc... what is left for you is
Hope you can get carried through all 4 Dynamis-D wins
Try to find people to run Omen with for the straps and accessories
Run Ambuscade over and over to get currencies for a Mythic/Empyrean weapon
Grind Sortie and Odyssey every. Single. Day.
And that's it, that's the game. There's no mount collecting because they're almost all from login points. Exceptions being Fenrir, Sheep, Malboro, Omega, Raptor, Chocobo, and whatever that Zilart hover thing is.
Chocobo racing is kind of a meme
Decorating your mog house
Most available content is directly tied to character strength progression, there's very little in the way of side distractions for yourself.
I always think of XI as Horizontal Progression (everything is still relevant - you can do sortie, odyssey, ambuscade, dynamis, omen, make relics, mythics, empyreans, prime, etc - it's all situationally useful)
XIV is Vertical Progression, as soon as you step up the ladder to the newest rung, everything before it is novelty/dated.
There is very much vertical progressing in XI now with things like
Sparks > Skirmish/Delve/AF and Relic +1 > Ambuscade +2/Escha/Empyrean +1 > Maliganance > Empyrean +2/Unaugmented Odyssey > Empy +3/Augmented Odyssey. If you're a fresh 99 WAR, DRK, or DRG and you find a generous multi-boxer to take you into Kalunga you get to skip to the 2nd to last gear tier in exchange for a couple months of Sparks farming.
I still have my crazy account. Haven't played for over 4 years though.
Lots added in the past 4 years! Come back when you’re ready :)
SE, you will never make me like XIV. Not even a little bit. Give us a successor to XI or just outright work updating XI for the modern era!
I'm annoyed that they are making a 14 mobile game, yet haven't heard anything about the 11 mobile remake meant to be out years ago
@@BlazeBuds the mobile remake of FFXI that was being produced by Nexon was cancelled several years ago. The general consensus was that it would be a poor representation of the game and hurt more than it could help
There's no money in FFXI... The game only makes barely enough to maintain the servers.
That's not a farsha!
Anything is a Farsha if you're brave enough.
Welp I did my part

i played through chains of promathia and tried dynamis. the end game gear was so unobtainable because of bots auto-voking NMs, and dynamis got you such little currency compared with how many people you had to bring at the time, i realized maybe a handful of people would ever get the really cool stuff. it was so restricted and snail paced i just lost interest. not to say that it hasn't changed but i have zero desire to go back, ever for lack of want of other games id rather play
@@tjudawous to each his own! That era of the game is long gone, it’s much different now~ but there are definitely plenty of other games to play if you’re not interested

@@Endolas1 RIP every game 💀🪦
I would play FFXI again, but the Launcher, installation, installing 3rd party apps and the HD texture mods and relearning how to use Lua scripts, not to mention dealing with the Gil sellers, is keeping me away from rejoining FFXI.
It’s definitely a undertaking, personally I don’t use any third part hd packs, and I think the game still looks nice in its old age, and playing on a more moderately sized server vs Asura tends to help with the RMT spam :p
I play for years and done all content without using Lua.
@pipz420 I'd prefer more quest markers and. Better world map system, and listing of NPC services
I still have my Brady games strategy guide just in case~

Didn't most of the player base move to private servers like HorizonXI? People still play retail?
I don’t play on horizon. But from what I’ve heard from others on stream is that horizon’s active online player count is less than asura’s (one of the official servers) online player count. You can check the ffxiah database : www.ffxiah.com/database - which shows 70,000 active (have sold something on the AH in the past month) players.
I'm playing on the Horizon servers. The main reason why is simple. I don't think the dates infrastructure of FFXI is worth the monthly sub. Play online is absolutely garbage, they need to update much of the game. Horizon showed that's doable
@@dizz6340 nice! The sub doesn’t bother me personally, but I can see how it’s a deterrent for many. Agree on playonline, though :p
Absolutely~ I think it's time they bring something like this to both audiences! Also, Galka are the best.
Just play on HorizonXI. It’s 75 era, brimming over with active players, and there’s no trusts. Trusts ruined retail.

that was part of the survey! looks like bringing back console support is on their mind. I don't think they have any intention of getting rid of FFXI, however - they've stated the contraray and this survey is a great indication that theyre thinking about the future of the game
I played FFXI from the time it launched on the PS2 all the way up till the servers shutdown for the PS2. Spent countless hours playing hunting and hanging out with random people I knew nothing about who later became some of my best gaming friends. Miss those days. I would welcome a dual sub and would pay whatever just to play XI all over again.
The servers never shut down. > .> The ps2 lost access to the servers. That's a massive difference. Also it wasn't because of Square. Sony shut down the network servers that allowed FFXI to access Square's servers.
