Russians build their planes cheaper than the west. Little attention to detail is given to non critical parts, or areas. Very practical approach. No bloating budget. Yet very competitive war planes.
However, once technology reaches a given point those small attention to details are exactly what matters. The nazis could cut corners with their jet fighters, because no one else had them and it was a huge leap regardless. You can not do that now when that small detail can mean the different between being detected a mile faster than you can detect the other guy. Within that mile he shot you in the face. If you want to spend billions of dollars on a project you had better not be being lazy.
@@andrewt.5567 The "attention to detail" meant the air force never got the necessary numbers of the f22 and never will. Not much point in having clever tech if planes don't get built or are too expensive to maintain.
You are in the dark. Migs 28s, 29s and 31s are all complete titanium and built to more exacting standards than commercially produced assembly line warplanes. Russian aeronautical engineers try to advance the state while our companies hire foreign engineers and scientists who immigrate for the paycheck. Russian attention to detail has given us the ejection seats we use now and the rockets that took us to space the last 20 years. When Russia sent Migs to Syria we immediatly got our obsolete F15s & 16s out. Israel and the U.S. don't let their warplanes near Iran because they have Russian AA, considered the best in the world. America has underestimated every enemy since WWII. The Vietnamese and Iraqis were still shooting when we were driven out. Trump had secretary Pompeo sign a document of capitulation to the Taliban for them to stop killing us. Understimating Russia is a mistake our military doesnt make for a moment
About 15 years ago, I was at work during an Air Show when one of those F-Models flew DIRECTLY over my head at about 50 yards. He was so close, I could see his helmet in the cockpit. Then, he flew STRAIGHT UP OVER MY HEAD!!!!!! The engines were rectangular. The noise was heart-pounding. The vibrations shook my entire body. I almost soiled my pants. This video does not do justice to the raw power of those engines. .
In terms of putting on a show for people the MIG subjectively looks better, has a far better thrust to weight ratio, is much much faster and equally as maneuverable. You're going to need a MIG 35 if you don't want to be instantly blown out of the sky in the presence of an f-22 if you start talking about warfare.
@@addz17 Lol @ "much, much faster" The MiG 29's top speed is around 1320 knots (1520MPH) while the F 22 Raptor's top speed is around 1303 knots (1500MPH). A 20MPH difference isn't that much when you have faster flying/more advanced armament to make up for the loss in speed.

these planes are generations apart the Mig29'is a very old design now, your just fooling yourself if you think this what you would be fighting in a battle tomorrow.
The Mig 29 is a decent aircraft but by no means can it even think of going head to head with an F22, it is not even a contest plus they should work on those smokey engines on the Mig you can see it coming from miles away just like the old F 4 Phantoms.
Its like the old beautiful ferrari and modern, advanced ferrari. Both great but the classic one is... You just want to watch it flying, screaming and smoking. Pure, muscular and powerful machine.
I like the Tomcat and the "Bodybuilder" F-15. I believe the F-15 has still the vertical acceleration Record. From leaving the ground till 20.000meters (not feet) 1m:03s!! Concorde needed 14 Minutes. Empty and with maximum Power.

MIG 29 specially built for short take off.. many navies use this aircraft on aircraftcarrier .. Indian Navy have approx 60 Mig 29 K .. ... where as raptor is future 👍
Mig 29K are extremely lightened and cannot take off with very much payload, or fuel. They are handicapped. Whereas the US uses catapult launched vehicles, which allows heavier payload and more fuel, AND shorter take off...
+Diemerstien "they are also very reliable." You do realize you're talking about an engine that has a service life in flight hours shorter than the mean time between one of three overhauls an F-110 would go through in its life, produces less thrust, and burns more fuel, right?
I didn't check it but do you really believe those migs were new? btw, if they were new, it's mean they are 27 years old now. I don't know the product date of those F-18s. Can you inform me if you have resources? And, I want to remind you Soviets collapsed at 1991.
Tu-95 is very different class my friend. USA still uses B-52 too. They upgraded it with some new avionics and jammers. Russians did the same on Tu-160, Mig29 and Su-27. And, they called them with different name as Mig-35 and Su-35 or Su-37. Axctually, we can't say Su-35 is an advanced Su-27. They are almost totaly different structers. Maybe only designs are similar. All others are changed. Even construttion materials. Engines, avionics, radars etc totaly different. It is the same for Mig29 and Mig35.
people seem to forget that fighter performance is more than thrust, thrust-vectoring, climb rate, turn agility, etc. that’s all what you see....what is not seen is the avionics and THAT makes the difference. The Raptor can track and launch on up to six targets simultaneously and consecutively but most importantly its sensor array can detect targets farther than the target sensors can detect....so if the targets can be picked off before the targets can even figure out what’s in the air, game over. The whole point to the Raptor’s electronic capability is to eliminate the chance of a dog-fight before it becomes a dog-fight or to minimize the severity of one if it happens....my money is on the Raptor & Raptor pilot....
The video is about vertical take off not which plane can take out which first, we already know the raptor can kill almost every plane in the air, you don't have to be hanged on it. Enjoy the video two planes vertically taking off and know it's a good thing these 2 countries are not fighting.
Ive seen an f22 in person at the air show in my home town and i cant stress enough how insanely capable the aircraft truly is. I watched f15s, f16s and f18s fly that day and nothing comes close to the f22...
+TopFelya Если есть возможность, приезжайте! Не пожалеете, гарантирую :-) Единственное, что может немного подпортить, это погода. Пару раз попадали под дождь. Это огорчает
U can see the mig 29 didn't pull back on the stick until after he flew for a bit at 45 degrees then went Vertical. The F22 went from horizontal and straight vertical. U gotta have a powerful engine to do what the f22 did.. just thought I point that out✌😏
There is really no comparison, but I will say that even though they are not environmentally friendly, the Mig engines seem a bit more powerful. When the Raptor does that vertical climb it seems to have a lower thrust to weight ratio. And the Mig has more fully articulating thrust vectoring exhaust nozzles. I think Sukhois have the best thrust vectoring though.
Why do the mig engines seem more puwerful? More smoke? F22 entered vertical climb faster than the Mig, despite being heavier (at least i think it is heavier by like 4 tons.
Smoke does not equate power; it's a sign of inefficient fuel burn. You can see that the F22 produces a lot more heat, however. Look at the size of the heat wave. You can hardly see the F22 while it's taking off.
LOL!! The F-22 is today the fighter with the most thrust/power in operation in the world! The exact max thrust in full afterburner, of the F-119 (F-22 engine) is classified, but it's at least something like 35,000 lbf... The F-22 has 2 engines... that's 70,000 lbf of thrust in full afterburner! The RD-33 engine (Mig-29 engine) produces 18,300 lbf of thrust in full afterburner... The Mig-29, as everybody knows, has 2 engines... so that's 36,600 lbf of thrust in full afterburner for the Mig-29... A single F119-PW-100 (F-22 engine) produces basically as much thrust as two RD-33's!
@@Cars-N-Jets Hope you made it. Saw a 22 at Seymour Johnson a couple years ago, most impressive thing I've ever seen at an airshow. The moves they can make, after you've been there awhile watching other jets, seem almost unnatural. And you know they're holding back, too.

This video does not do justice to the raw power of those engines. .
Where’s the “vs” part? The video was 90% Mig. And, as mentioned by others these two planes are 25 or more years apart. Different generations...
Only 23 years apart between service entry dates. The mig29 entered service in 1982. The F22 entered service in 2005.

Thwre was nothing to compare. A raptor took off. Rest of video was the boring mix doing a couple maneuvers
That's their problem if they still fly old relics, its called upgrade or stick with the same old shit😁
Given it's age, I feel like the Mig pilot used up about 3/4 of his fuel sitting at open throttle before he even started the roll.
Raptor took the win there, even the wash from the raptors engines was more impressive than the migs, but that mig doing that slow flight was badass.
u compare mig that was built in 1983 to a jet from 2005

The Mig 29 is a decent aircraft but by no means can it even think of going head to head with an F22, it is not even a contest plus they should work on those smokey engines on the Mig you can see it coming from miles away just like the old F 4 Phantoms.

You do realize you're talking about an engine that has a service life in flight hours shorter than the mean time between one of three overhauls an F-110 would go through in its life, produces less thrust, and burns more fuel, right?
Graceful, beautiful planes. Incredible.
US engines are much more efficient at burning fuel. You don't see any unburnt fuel smoke trails.
Yes, you are right but that is Polish Airforce Mig and it's made Soviet times.
Probably its age is over 35 years. :)
You must be realy stupid if you can't check in google that Poland bought new Migs-29 in 1989 and 1990
I didn't check it but do you really believe those migs were new? btw, if they were new, it's mean they are 27 years old now.
I don't know the product date of those F-18s.
Can you inform me if you have resources?
And, I want to remind you Soviets collapsed at 1991.
Gökhan YILDIZ Yes, they were new. Yes, they have 27 years now... Yes, Russia still use Tu-95 bombers made in 1959-1960
Tu-95 is very different class my friend.
It is the same for Mig29 and Mig35.

but flying as plane from 70, not so fast, not so dangerous, as lodpapy walking in garden, see don't broke legs, old moron.
I got to see a Raptor Demonstration back in 2012. The most amazing display I ever seen.
Check the Raptor Demopilot interview at „Aircrew Interview“ !!
people seem to forget that fighter performance is more than thrust, thrust-vectoring, climb rate, turn agility, etc. that’s all what you see....what is not seen is the avionics and THAT makes the difference. The Raptor can track and launch on up to six targets simultaneously and consecutively but most importantly its sensor array can detect targets farther than the target sensors can detect....so if the targets can be picked off before the targets can even figure out what’s in the air, game over. The whole point to the Raptor’s electronic capability is to eliminate the chance of a dog-fight before it becomes a dog-fight or to minimize the severity of one if it happens....my money is on the Raptor & Raptor pilot....
www.pogoarchives.org/m/dp/dp-fa22-Riccioni-03082005.pdf read little bit about Queen hangar called F-22

Five minutes of absolute speeds and great power⚡
U can see the mig 29 didn't pull back on the stick until after he flew for a bit at 45 degrees then went Vertical. The F22 went from horizontal and straight vertical. U gotta have a powerful engine to do what the f22 did.. just thought I point that out✌😏

When Starscream takes off into space at the end of Tranformers...

I love the mig29 it's a beauty. The f22 is also very stunning.
They have basically the exact same Thrust/weight ratio.
"seems"
you sure have me convinced buddy!
I've always admired the mig 29.
Funnily enough the two seater Mig 29 Swallow looks better than the single seater. Which is unlike most fighter aircraft.
Why do mig29s spray out all of that black smoke? Are they not burning all of the fuel or is it just lower quality fuel?
