  • stone artifacts found on the American Continent used by the Ancient inhabitants of the Americas including the American Indian. This is a unique scraper crafted for the hand to fit around it with a place for the thumb on top. It has seen much use evidenced by the worn in blade used for scraping.

I dislike criticizing publicly but 50yrs of archaeological experience demands it. If the edges along the sides had been dulled or beveled to some degree this could have been an intentional tool. In that case, the sharp end would be functional. Lacking this feature I mention,it's quite unlikely this piece was a tool since the unworked edges would have been uncomfortable&too tough on the user's hand to apply sufficient grip or pressure to serve as a tool. There's no chipping or polish to indicate any man made modification. While it's possible,in a pinch, this could have been used in some manner, that probability is more incidental or accidental than purposeful. I do regret to offer this verdict on this piece, but seeing a cloud in the shape of an animal does not make that cloud an animal.

Perfect handles except for that sharp point that would lacerate your hand if used like you demonstrated. That is a fractured rock

It’s sad because I’m in the same boat. I’ve stumbled across a lot of things with my daughter and if it’s not a perfect shaped arrowhead people are quick to talk shit. I’ve come to find out that everything I have is Stone Age tools. That’s why nobody knows. Cool stuff, man, thanks for posting the video

It might well have been used for a tool but has not been worked and if it was sharpen the piont would have been much more uniform and straight. Certain spalls have been used that were not worked as well but because they were extremely sharp. The point of identifying ancient tools is the fact that they have been worked in some way. Your supposed tool does not show signs of being worked so it can not be identified as such .

The "blade" he referenced has been ground down by man. Whether or not its a tool I can't say.

Yep, you are definitely crazy. All natural fractures, and the material is not slate.

I go thru the same kind of resistance and it’s especially infuriating when it’s even on a supposed paleo group. They only want to seem to be attracted by the the real pretty Clovis / Folsom’s but if u do the Research and go online and dig up actual images of things of objects that are regarded as being from that point in time they’re exactly the same I’m sitting on a whole mountain of them I just discovered a few weeks ago right down here in the stream the creek along side of my property but they’re all over I mean it’s mind boggling I don’t even know what to do about it really. It’s gonna amount to another major site being discovered that supports a preclovis existence. Mine generally have that same patina as yours . They are hidden in plain sight. Have u found any of the petrified tools make from organic material ie. Once living creatures!? That’s all that’s around here. The Cactus Hill sight is maybe a 45 min drive from me.

Hi I have a lot of stones that I have found and some are amazing. I've been collecting 4-5 years now and found a lot of tools, arrowheads, tomahawks, micro rock art, effigies. I'm looking for someone to talk too about these things.

Rotate that with the chisel shape away from you. There are 2 rounded edges on that stone. One the size of an arrow shaft. The other looks like a bow radius.

I dont think its manmade. you said its a hematite cone, but it looks nothing like a hematite cone if google it. It doesnt have a bulb of percussion, or ripples going away from where it was hit. It looks like it was broken by nature, the way your rock is broken is hapahzard, it doesnt show repeated small regular points of impact.

One of the pitfalls authenticating genuine Native American artifacts is that a lot of chert specimens have already been "machined" by mother nature to be used as tools as is. I can go to the river right now and find a dozen that look just like the one in this video, because all chert (flint) breaks to form at least one razor-sharp edge.

    • @vegasranger
      @vegasranger 8 місяців тому

True. But where the "blade" area was grounded down it was by man. That is to flat to be mother nature. Someone worked that edge.

My backyard at one point was a pond. "Lately, to my surprise, I've found some Native American relics." Yours (on this video) seems to fit the description of some of the items that I've found, especially "the indentation," specifically made for "one's thumb" to firmly hold it in your hand. 😉👍

Most times I see what you are seeing that most people dont but I must say, this one is a stretch. Not saying that its not what you say it is and definately not agreeing with the panel of experts that always make smart ass comments, just saying its a stretch

I don't think you're crazy...I have many tools that I found on a known site in Colorado (which we owned at the time, so not illegal). They are strange looking, but many are so similar that they just have to be tools.

Without any evidence that it was shaped or used by mankind at all how can you call it anything above Debitage ? As much as many people would like to tell you it's an Artifact most with an understanding of the manufacture and use wear of artifacts refuse to misguide you or others

Bill, I really need your e-mail address. I live on a farm in NE TN. Have many, many artifacts we would love for you to see. These were all found on top of the ground. Only a few were partially buried. .We have many that look like yours and some really different looking ones. Maybe you could help us identify them?

Alan McCoy these comments are honest. There is a list of features that a tool MUST relate to otherwise it’s just a rock.

Good stuff man, the blind ones probably still think theories are fact, and that it takes millions of years for wood to petrify. Oh yeah, and that Darwin knew what he was talking about, he was still trying to give humans animal blood, and wondering why they didn’t survive. Keep the information coming brother.

LOL At least you try Andrew but some natural stones fool some people sometimes. Know Like those net weights any of them lacking the signs of manufacture or use wear are and always will be just nature made stones.
