I have to say thank you solo much! I have only had the fridge since 7/20/23 and we are now having a heat wave. The fridgecwasn't getting cold enough and I called Whirlpool but I guess and I thought that I had the fridge cat the coldest setting. It turns out that I only had it at the last snow flame and did not understand how to get all four lights to make it colder. I just decided to check out UA-cam to see if there was any tutorials and thank goodness I found you. I don't know how long it should take to cool it more but I guess it should be at least 24 hours. Thanks again!
@@DIYPinto Hello looking forward to subscribe to this channel ASAP, but today I just purchased a brand new Whirlpool refrigerator side by side, I have two questions, first I notice that in this new model I purchased today, the compressor shuts off anytime you open the fridge door or the freezer door, and then turn back on when you shut the doors, is that normal? the second question is, what temperature should the freezer side, and refrigerator side, be if you set the temperature at the factory recomended setting?
Perhaps the fridge is saying “hey the door is open, and I’m not an ac, I am a bonafide refrigerator, so I’m going to turn off until buddy here figures out what he wants and shuts the door.” Temperature should be whatever the manufacturer says the temperature should be when you set manufacturers recommendation would be my scientific guess. To clear it up, I am not, technically a scientist, but I am a UA-camr. Good luck with the new fridge!
@@DIYPinto I have owned 20 new refrigerators in the past for my rentals, and this new one I just purchased last week is the only model that shuts off, unless that is now the new trend.
Excellent information and informative video. Why the owners manual does not describe how to set the temperature is ridiculous. The fridge is 2 years old and it is freezing, especially vegetables.
Thank you so much for this video!!! On the instructions, it did not say all the lights would go off when the temperature control was off so I wasn't sure if the cooling was on or off.
What does the knob inside the freezer need to be set to to make the fridge and freezer the right temps. Cause i just got this fridge and the fridge will only go down to 40 degrees when i have all the lights on. And i dont really feel any air blowing out of the vent in the fridge. But the freezer is really cold. What am i doing wrong. I cant afford to lose the little bit of food i have. Also. There is ice slightly forming around the vents in the fridge part. Thanks for any help.
Thank you. Helpful! If i leave it on all 4 flakes initally.... will it reset itself to recommended when up to temp? Brand new. Just like yours and been plugged in for30 min! Any help appreciated. Instructions minimal and 800 number only option. I subscribed.
What about the air flow dial in the freezer? If your freezer is too cold and your fridge is too warm you’ll need to use this dial. A video dedicated to instructing how to control the temperature should include this…
My freezer is freezing properly. However, the fridge is not as cold as it should be. All of the lights are on. Can you please tell me what I may be doing wrong?
@Julie-x7y It sounds like there might be an issue with the airflow between the freezer and the fridge. Make sure the vents aren't blocked and check the thermostat settings. If that doesn't help, you might need to inspect the evaporator fan or the defrost system.
@@DIYPinto I found a control knob in the rear of the freezer section after moving stuff out of the way, thanks! ;) I had to set the temperature setting in the fridge to the coldest (4 leds) to bring the refrigerator section down to 38F, the compressor does cycle off but the temp is well above freezing. I think it's cold enough as long as the control thermostat doesn't drift upward. Again, thanks for your help to understand the led logic!
The food will be colder at the lowest settings. The right-most led is next to coldest and all four leds on, is the coldest maximum setting. The leftmost led by itself, is the warmest setting and all four led's off indicates refrigerator cooling power is off (no cooling).

What snowflake equals what temperature in size for example the least cold is 40° f and the maximum cold 32° f. Is there anything that explains this?

@reginamcfarland3764 that usually happens when you don't have enough things in the refrigerator.

How do you adjust the freezer temp

I don’t have those controls
That's what I thought. In the manual it does not say which is the coldest, only the symbols. I have it on the lowest setting and it is still too cold.
