Shark Tank US | Flated Product Makes Van Life Easier

Learning that Kevin owns a Ford150 is the most interesting thing about this pitch.
🤣
He asked a hypothetical question in order to get necessary information regarding the product… he does this all the time. He wasn’t saying he actually owns a Ford F150… there is nothing secret or special or deep about Kevin. He is very surface level predicable, shallow, and unapologetically realistic. He probably wouldn’t own a F150, just as everyone would not expect him to.
@@katters4368he (infamously) has a boat, it’s not that much of a stretch to believe that he has a truck to tow it
That's the most interesting thing? Ppl have multiple cars.

As of April 2023, Flated has an estimated valuation and worth of $7 million and currently offers many different types of inflatable accessories and storage options. (Jul 16, 2023)
👌🏽
@@CeBme you mean 2024?
Woahhh!!
Did this deal close?
That's such a hood deal, it's a make it or break it deal. 2500 units to sell before he gets his finding back, but 5% on a high value asset is good numbers for both but also for a niche product, but daymond ain't stupid, this will include future products too.
It’s a good deal for the investor or the company ?😊
Wow haven't seen Daymond make a deal in awhile
Daymond doesn't get picked as often when he's against other Sharks (not necessarily due to race) so he likes to make offers when he's the only one left.
@@God_is_good_Thank you, God bless you too 🙏
Idk why I found this comment funny 😂

No one should worry about s corps or llc until your buisness turns profit or you need a legal entity for payment processor it's just a way of lowering personal liability and you can file the paperwork at through your state and state website save money.
Starting an LLC or S Corp after reaching profitability or needing liability protection is sensible, but early formation has benefits too. An LLC offers liability coverage and simpler management, while an S Corp can lower self-employment taxes for higher income. Consulting a professional ensures you choose the best fit as your business grows.
Using pre-tax contributions in an LLC or S Corp can reduce taxable income during high-earning years, while post-tax contributions like Roth options can ease taxes in retirement, creating a balanced tax strategy.
How can one find a verifiable financial planner? I would not mind looking up the professional that helped you. Do you have any?
My CFA Julianne Iwersen Niemann, a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further. She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.
Thank you for sharing, I must say, Julianne appears to be quite knowledgeable. After coming across her web page, I went through her resume and it was quite impressive.
I love when Mark says, "That's actually a really good deal."
Most replayed in this video is when he said "and I'm Ryan Gay" lmao
😂
Lol I had to replay what he said
We had a company called Plated on Shark Tank and now there’s Flated.

First deal Daymond makes in 20 years of been on the show 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
to white people
Not true probably it’s the one you saw after a while they make 24 episode each episode 4 people come in if you watch the show you will a lot more plus he does not only invest on the show he invest in real life all the time
So true 😂
Fr he sux 😊
This is honestly only the second deal I’ve seen him make since the show started. I don’t even know what he’s doing on here anymore.
Just bought the cargo box “sport” version. Can’t wait to set it up for an upcoming trip.
This is something a middleclass person like myself would buy to save money. Sometimes these Sharks are out of touch with the regular people in America.
You're right. I had a hard plastic roof topper and it was a nightmare to store it. Ended up selling it. This makes so much more sense
You're not really intelligent, it's because they don't own the technology. They get offered companies all day everyday. It's not worth their time.
They are in touch with $ . And as an investor, that's the bottom line.
That is so stupid to even say. You have to understand the market and demo to make an investment decision. I can tell you have never made an investment in your life @@brianwideman2342
Not just to save money, as said also space.
As a European, in a lot of places storage comes at a premium yet they still want to take their car across the continent occasionally.
I've used drop stitched kayaks and paddle boards, it's incredible technology. This stuff looks great if they can make the aero work at 130km/h.
Is this a fake video ? Did Daymond just made a deal 😂😂
It would’ve been fake if it was Barbara 😂

@@ngwesoI've made more deals than Kevin, and for that reason I'm out.
Kevin makes alot of offers @joymagomba2104
There is a reason why Barbara and Damien are rich and you aren't. They make smart investments. Getting deals is not a high score
@@Salted_Potato there is no one on the show names damien
Daymond made a deal?! I think he might've had to overdraft for this one.
😂
Daymond has a net worth of $350 million; I don't think he has overdraft issues.
@@valoredramack9117 net worth doesn’t mean cash money in the bank. It means all assets included. He could have millions worth of properties but he never makes any deals cuz he got no money to spend.
@@blakebambam3143 And my point stands that he is still wealthy and is not hurting for money, so your comment is irrelevant.
@@valoredramack9117 and you have just further proven my point that he is over drafting to make deals, so your baseless comment is null and void.
Flated, a company that appeared on Shark Tank Season 14 Episode 16 in 2020, has made waves in the inflatable storage solutions industry. Founded by Ryan Guay, Dan Watts, Monique Keefer, and Ken Hoeve, Flated pitched their innovative products to the Sharks, seeking a $350k investment for 5% equity at a $7 million valuation. Ultimately, they caught the attention of Daymond John, who believed in their vision and made a deal on the show. Today, Flated is estimated to be worth $7 million, a testament to their success and the impact of their appearance on Shark Tank.
what's with t he AI comment?
@@garbygarb31copy and paste from a article I’ve seen similar ones like this for shark tank businesses . It gives a clear answer to those wondering how the people are doing though !
we're still waiting for a distributor of flated here in the Philippines...there's a lot of overlanding/camping/off-roading activities here...
I felt like Daymond was good to say he is out when the three we discussing if to take the deal or not
This will be a very big company. This market is huge.
Hopefully !
You are correct, the Automotive accessory market is huge in the US and Worldwide. We won three international best of Show awards at the SEMA show last November.
People are traveling rn millions are rn millions BILLIONS
the market is constantly inflating for this type of thing for sure!
@@Shrooms-up6sv no pun intended 🤣
basically this shows help the business advertise its product
That's part of it, the other part is potentially getting an investment and help from the sharks
Mark Cuban makes a lot of sense. I messaged them months ago about being a distributor here in asia.
I discussed with them that I will consignment with diff off road stores as it really needs to be touched, observed and demonstrated.
Never got a reply.
Must be the consignment part. Pretty weak play.
Gotta love how half the comments are people shocked daymand man an offer
Well, the rule of 7 feet comes into play for many. Garage doors are commonly 7 feet. If we are real about it, 6'10" is the line. I like this product for its simplicity for that reason alone.
Damon's quick no's are priceless. 😂
Forget about van life, this product could be amazing for so many items!!
Having a large family growing up, this would've been a lifesaver
they got very very lucky because all the sharks helped them make the right decision
Love the shark socks on mark
am i the only person so notice that this is just a blown up version of Nikes Zoom Air technology found in 100s of different footwear models?
Daymonds third deal ever 😂😉 serisouly he could count all his deals on one hand.
lmfao
That’s actually a really good thing though
Daymond messes with these kind of deals outdoors kinda stuff
Catch y'all tomorrow during my next lunch break
Whenever they say that's such a good deal, you know it's a horrible deal for the entrepreneur.
There are going to be a lot of Americans living in their car the ways things are going .. 😂😂😂
I swear Damon scoffs at every evaluation. He wants people to ask $20 for 95% of their company.
You're not wrong...but this was a valuation to be scoffed at for sure. When a company shows up claiming they're worth 7 million dollars and none of them have heard of them...that's a red flag.
how is this any different from a soft cargo carrier you can fold up when not in use?
Kevin always the one to ask about money.
can we have some explanation at the end about if the product worked, please
This is a cool idea to someone who doesn’t camp much or overland but if you do , there’s a lot of issues that I see with these
BARB CALLS IN: "ITS MY DAY OFF & FOR THAT REASON IM OUT "😮
😂
💀💀🤣🤣
1% royalty is such a nickel and dime counter to almost lose literally the deal of a life time lol
I would absolutely use there products. Hands down.
Its good. Cheap. Light. Can save gas. Better for offroad light car. Easy to do it by urself.
Woah this is awesome. I want one for a 6ft bed
Drop stitched - same as SUPs / Stand Up Paddleboards. Cool.
All the other Dragons had to jump in help them realize what a good deal they were getting from Daymond.
The guy on the right is probably Hugh Jackman.
music is so loud, I can't hear them easily!
I’ve bought color matched toppers for 700 lol . What is he talking about 3500
When was the last time LORI made a deal ??? After that sponge bob square pants
Would have died if she told Dayman…..I’m not pregnant…
0:54 the way she moved her head when she said vehicle says a lot about her. I’m out.
She didn't say vehicle at 0:54

Daymond made a deal? Now he just needs to scam them and not pay and the full circle will be complete
Not a greedy deal at all, especially if the man put up his money , and like lori said , they could use the money , should of asked for more cash up front if it were to be a royalty deal. Get 1.5xs of more product , and use for advertisement , even tho it seems like someone said it turned to a 7 million$ business . Till now im hearing about this , seems very beneficial , and convenient. Daymond seemed more interested in the flatbed inflate lol
actually think this is a licensing deal once the patent comes in =)
that is actually an ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS deal they took... that is a GIGANTIC royalty, absolutely ludicrous and for almost nothing in return, just a tiny bit of cash (compared to what they actually need) that will be gone in one quarter and they will pay for it FOREVER
A bit late but have you watched the entire video? It has been explained why it's almost negligible...
@@kodaph a bad explanation that is completely wrong doesn't sway someone one bit when they have an actual understanding and ability to think for themselves, you should try it
@@notimportant3686 you better
It was a good deal if these sharks actually help the company.
You see, this is not a well doing company. Its founders are not even working full time in it. So, there is some risk. The good thing about royality is that the Shark makes money only if he is able to sell enough quantities of it. If the Shark is going to advertise these products and help it scale, then its very useful.
If not, and still the company succeeds it is deadweight. Alternatively, they would have probably got 15% equity for 350k at best. That is equivalent of giving 15% of profit too. In this case atleast it is 5%. But difference is that this 5% is non dilluted, and should be given even if the company is loss making.
I am thinking about buying some of there products
how does it handle during a heavy storm that pops up along your voyage? Is it wind and water proof? Will it stay on your vehicle?
What’s everyone eating for lunch today?
Dinner in South Africa
Prolly gonna drink a protein shake and eat porridge with bananas and berries😋 wbu
Steak and potatoes baby 😋
Steak and mash potatoes
I just had breakfast. Oatmeal!
I wonder why when a royalty deal is offered by anyone besides Mr wonderful, the other sharks think it’s a great offer?
I really dont understand the patent industry.. how can you patent the specific use of a technology
Drop stitch was invented in the 50's by Goodyear. I'm no patent lawyer but Google says patents have a 20yr life, so afterwards it's open for other applications without paying the original patent holder.
Finally a product that makes sense, I've several episodes the last couple of days, and it's just Damon who gets a deal, what has happened to the others sharks, wait!!, Barbara said from the shower, I'm out!!
Im pretty sure they collude behind the scenes and tell the entrepreneur to take the others deal
You want a member of your team for 5% 😂
I love these products. I'd love a topper and bed for my truck, but those prices are too high.
Such a great product.
Talent workioiiii
Thank you
Right bound
How could they value 7M ? How calculate for that?
FINALLY
he is valuing the company at one million but still working as a bellman?! It does not make sense
Working side gigs while starting up allowed us to stay debt free and invest all sales back into more inventory! Daymond respected that cause he worked at Red Lobster while starting FUBU.
Sharks always help Daymond but often he doesn't do t he same.
I think this show is really missing some real inventors. The uniqueness factor has disappeared
I'm confused what they actually needed the investment for all the sudden...
If he really believed in the product , why did they hesitate to answer lol of course besides when thinking of counter offer
They came for free advertisement
now all they got to do is quit there day jobs and commit to the bis like the shares were saying
Why would they even think about that 😂he only wanted 8%!!!! That’s nothing 😂 usually they want like 20% minimum
3500$ is not what a good topper costs.
I said the same thing. Who the hell is paying 3500 for a topper. Hell I wouldn’t pay 1800 for that
thats a pretty bad deal - they valued it way to high - royalty is immediate payout; equity is when everyone gets paid out. Perpetuity is just insane. Royalty is basically worse then equity; when and if the business ever sells they have to negotiate damons buyout which is stupid.
Atleast two of them need to believe in this thing enough to leave their job.Cant commit and leave your job I can't leave my money.
Lunch time
I’ll take no credit down
patent on a commercial usage? weird
this company never be acquired due to perpetual royalty deal...
dude you just keep uploading re-runs
I would ask the sharks for $250,000 thousand. And would pay them pay at a 2 percent interest rate every year, put in into PayPal savings at a 4 percent interest rate, and keep half the money every year. You could leverage the bank or money to make money free for life.
they would have been beyond stupid to not take that deal
They look like Nike Zoom Air.
Daymond make a good offer
that was a good offer
Bentle😂😂😂
this is a reupload from recently on the main channel 👎🏼
I think it's slightly re-cut to frame it more positively. i kinda want to try that suv on the rack thing because with hard boxes i'd probably never put it on or never take it off lol. love the product.
Can get actual camper toppers for less.
Nope, as soon as I hear the pitch and whoever is pitching is only wanting to give 5% of their company, I lose interest and stop watching.
