Before this channel, I always wondered how these custom builds could be so expensive. I totally get it now. I don't know much about cars, but I love watching artists at work.
I went to school in the early 80s to learn bodywork and nothing can be more difficult or rewarding than doing all of this correctly. Not a lot of young people are going to want to work this hard anymore. This is an art and you never stop learning always advances with new and better techniques.
How doesn’t your painter get mesmerised by the magic he’s performing in front of him And then mess the rest up 🤷♂️ there’s a lot of skill in that shop, right through every step.
Oh man, thank you so much! This means more as a validation of the content that we (mostly Tim) work so hard to produce than you will ever know. Our viewers have always been generous, supportive and kind, but this is next-level. Thank you. Please send us your address and shirt size to info@classiccarstudio.com so we can send you out some merch!
i love watching your projects and work. can i ship my mustang for a complete re-paint sometime this winter? it has a few panel gaps that need adjusting...no dents just paint chips and orange peel from factory paint job. low mile 2003 cobra. thanks
@@dcooper8588 Thanks! Give us a call at (314) 567-4200 and ask for Chris, he can give you a timeframe and work out an estimate for the refinish. Fair warning, we're booked out quite a bit and will most likely not be able to schedule you in for this winter.
Just regular Highland Green? I only ask because it seems a bit darker and I really like it. I thought maybe you used the 08 dark highland green. Its very nice.
Usually we’ll be at either 3000, 5000, or 8000 before we start polishing. It just depends on how smooth of finish the customer wants. For example, we won’t typically go this high for a factory correct finish on a factory restoration.

El auto d mis sueños 😃😃
Is that sanding blocks with Duct tape on them at 3:57 for better block control, or do they sell blocks like that?
Yeah, the guys make those handles out of duct tape or gorilla tape. Not sure anyone sells anything like that.
And here's a video talking a little more about our sanding blocks. ua-cam.com/video/K4mOaWpZwO8/v-deo.html
@@ClassicCarStudio that’s an awesome idea. You guys rock!
Still cool

I see that you start off wet sanding at 800 what grit is final wet sanding before polish
Curious as well. My suspicion is that it went to 2k or 3k depending on what they started with on buffing.
ye for finish, but you have to go deep with 800 and finish on 8000 or 6000, when you have 5 coat of clear u can go 800 1500 2K 3K 8K @@SupercarSeany
