Chad, my name is Luis I’m from Idaho. I remember many videos back you said you wanted to put out quality videos instead of quantity. I don’t know the proper name but you have been putting some very very high level quality of story telling. I love it. I love your content. I hope to one day be able to take a trip like that and see it with my own eyes. Amazing amazing work that you put into these videos. I just want to tell you how much I enjoy watching them. I appreciate the time to take for this to happen
Simply amazing. Something very few “normal” people will do in their life. The fact you documented it and we get to see what it might be like is awesome. Thanks Chad, loved every minute of the journey 🙏
Wow, saw our sticker from our 2019 trip. We stayed two nights at one of the hotels and have to say ours was much nicer than yours. We had my Service Dog and the folks could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We had the buffet style as well but were asked to avoid the peak hours with our Service Dog if possible. He would be a distraction to the workers who would want to pet him, so we used the nice lounge area, large screen tv, smoking fast wifi and my wife would get our food and every time one of the staff helped her carry the second tray. I think they did so they could see our dog. Apparently, word was out he was there so many workers would walk by to say hi. Great trip for us and your video brought back some fond memories.
I really enjoying these episodes. I feel like I'm being transported to someplace that I'd never get to go to otherwise. Looking out at the rain here in Ireland on 01.01.2024 and c7 degrees celsius, yet here I am "travelling" with Chad in Alaska/Canada. Great content Chad. Well done. And thank you! Stay safe and Happy New year to you and all your followers
Congratulations Chad on your adventure & also sharing this with us. It takes a lot of courage to be able to make that kind of an expedition so far with the very cold & brutal elements. And have a very safe trip back home to Washington State & can’t wait to hear back from you.
There ARE movie theaters, gyms, swimming pools, gardens, rooms like a catered convenience store with no cash register, to get quick bites of food. All fresh food!! There are giant lounging areas. Like big fancy hotels.
Fascinating to learn more about how people live and work in such conditions through your brilliant Arctic documentary. Good to know that the land will be recovered and returned to the Inuit peoples in time.
@LivingTheVanLife, great trip and series. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I have one big problem: I wish people would not lie about surviving in “extreme” temps. We get down to -50°F here in Montana, and guess what? We survive just fine. -20° - -30° F is not unusual during winter. Yes vehicles become hard to start, but they do, especially with engine heaters plugged in. I’ve also been in Arizona when it was 127° F. It was hot, but survived just fine. We could not drive on the roads as the asphalt would melt to the tires, and the excessive heat would blow tires, but to survive in the heat, while hot, was doable. Although I’ll take -30° any day over 127° F.
Oh my goodness! That repurposed, antenna mast 'structure' (that you plugged your engine block heater into), reminded me of the old 'IdleAire' structures that you used to see at Truck Stops! The IdleAire system; provided Truck Drivers with, heat, A/C, broadband internet, and electricity...for a (exorbitant) fee... It went the way of the DoDo.
WOW! What a journey!! ... what a journey of events!!! First we had all the detailed preparations for the big Return to the Arctic adventure trip. Then we had a seemingly endless drive with majestic views, skillfully edited. A symphony of visual AND thumping music transmitting emotions. Furthermore we are now having an introduction to life and work in such inhospitable environment. Showing that all lifestyle could done because of and for "money" (oil!). And, in a side note, the reality that 100% living inside a van is possible but a break in a "cabin" is a small blessing indeed. Anxiously waiting for the next episode, dueling into who knows what. It will be pleasantly good, for sure. But what will it be? Unforgiving Alaska showing its reality. Thanks Chad!
Chad! I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! There is another overland channel that I occasionally watch and they went to Purdue Bay and paid a fee to the oil company to have a guide drive them to the Ocean. FYI.
Thanks for sharing ! Although not as far ! my father did own a motel/pub/gas station establishment in Whitehorse, I wish I would have went that way back then. Mabey another day
The showcase of the worker lifestyle up there (plus the interview and historical videos) was so intriguing! Love how you add in different perspectives amidst the elite filmwork and storytelling. Super excited to see what's next.
I really loved this episode I had no idea about the buildings and stilts and returning everything back to nature at the end of the oil drilling. Such a Great Adventure! One day I would love to be able to travel to remote places like you do 😇 I love the style and how real everyone is and oh yeah... I thought your transition to talk about the stilts on the buildings was Sooooo Cool and I was like now that is editing at its best!!! Love your Channel!!! and look forward to the next episode!💗💗💗💗💗
Seeing the LTI trucks, living in Bellingham all my entire life & working for BP really brings this video home. My neighbor and good friends works in Deadhorse. This is the best footage I've EVER seen Chad, I really appreciate this video! Also, get yourself a TWIC card and you'll be able to be a visitor up there on your next adventure to Deadhorse.
Hearty congratulations to your great adventure...salute to your courage and resilience to make this solo trip all the way....all the best for your future adventures
Thanks for sharing all this information, scenery and your experience with us . Only a minute percentage off your viewers will ever make it up there . I want to say '' Hats off'' to you as well as all the people that goes there to earn a living to bread onto their family's table , All the best to you . For me this is one off the best if not the best you tube videos series I ever watched .
Wow Chad I think it’s cool that they have that hotel for anyone and actually talk to you and explain things. Very nice video. Thank you. Until the next one stay safe
Watching 4 Videos in a Row, and now your new Video is out. The good side of Covid. From the Dessert to the Artic in Seconds :) Thank you Sir from Germany
The camp you stayed at is pure luxury compared to camps iv stayed in and worked. I also would do 30 days on and 1 week off depending sometimes not even maybe few days off.. 10-14 hour days. I have many stories about camps I've been in.. some decent and some horrible.. pretty much prisons out there lol happy to be able to experience it myself but don't work north anymore.
Thanks for taking us to see this incredible environment. I had no idea what it is like living and working in this environment. Be safe and stay well. Happy New Year!
Wow. Brutal conditions in winter. Three of us drove a little Jeep up the haul road many years ago in September and tent-camped north of the Brooks range by a creek. When we went for a morning walk we discovered that during the night a caribou had been killed and dismembered a hundred feet away during the night. Gulp. It is absolutely remote country, full of wildlife.
Hi there..Your video has reached the whole world..congratulations for that..Just 1 thing if you are able to tell the temperature in both Fahrenheit and Celsius please…all the best buddy
Hi Chad another great video, thanks for sharing this epic adventure with us. Looking forward to see more. Greetings from Turkey and happy new year. 🎉🎊🎉
Such an amazing and beautiful trip. Love all the footage. Today’s video made me cold just watching it…BRRR! 🥶 Lots of interesting info. You are a brave man!
100% not the most northern most point in the US but damn! What a view and what a journey. Props on the short interview with the oil worker. Crazy to think about all those people working there for oil when it’s really not required. So dangerous but so amazing.
In Finland, there's coming freezing cold air from Siberia for the next week. The forecast is warning that in the Arctic it might go as low as -51 Celsius. Also here at central Finland its going to be lower than -30 celcius.
Awesome video. Super cool to see what it's like up there and how it all keeps chugging along. Not sure if your paths will cross, but another UA-camr, Truck House Life, seems to be making the trek up to Deadhorse as well recently!
Thank you Chad for taking me along!! What a journey!! What size fuel tank are you running? The stock 24 gallon? It looked like you only put in 21 gallons when you were very low on fuel. I am looking into the 40 gallon for my Tranquility, but they are pricey, but worth it I think? Thanks again Amigo!! Be safe!
CHAD'S IN THE HOUSE 🎉 Congratulations Chad on a once in a lifetime journey the Artic n all that Snow are Beautiful i cant imagine living all my life in Florida I like warmth lol The hotel.n history of Deadhoarse was cool Safe Travels HAPOY NEW YEAR CHAD 🎉🎉
Another epic epic episode Chad. Don’t bother driving home, spend a year or so driving to the most southern point of South America. I feel it’s your duty !
Congratulations you made it to there again. Your dedication is inspiring. Not many will do what you just did. Thank you for bringing real reality and extreme grim experiences to us here in UA-cam world. Your videos are like professional documentaries. You are one awesome human. I love all your videos but especially this one and the visit to the Arctic.

This series is awesome, man. One of the best things you've done in a while. I love your winter content and this has been a treat to watch so far.
Thanks for putting us in the passenger seat for your adventure Chad! Safe travels🍻
Simply amazing. Something very few “normal” people will do in their life. The fact you documented it and we get to see what it might be like is awesome. Thanks Chad, loved every minute of the journey 🙏

Those buildings are also built on stilts, so that the wind can blow through them rather than be subjected to 100% of the force of the wind
Fascinating to learn more about how people live and work in such conditions through your brilliant Arctic documentary. Good to know that the land will be recovered and returned to the Inuit peoples in time.
awesome Chad just awesome im cold just watching all the best
Wow.... I learned something new today! Thank you ❤
The stories of the workers are fascinating. -80 below takes a extremely determined person to power through. Absolutely beautiful.
Your cinematography is the tops, thanks for the great videos! Keep ‘em coming! Maybe a drive up to Banff?
Congratulations Chad! Absolutely stunning tour as usual. Have a Happy New Year and have a safe trip back.
Good mornings everyone!!! Happy New Year Chad and all his fans!!!

Timmy over at Truck House Life just did this drive last week, from Girdwood. With a homemade cabin on a super old, awesome truck. Pretty bad ass.
I know! Super cool. I was bummed he wasn’t able to make it all the way to Deadhorse. :-(
Yup. Closed road; sucks that it was out of his control. Hopefully next time he can make it all the way; he was so close.
Oh my goodness!

Loved seeing the oilfield camp town. That was so smart getting a hotel there. Thanks for your videos Chad! Happy new year from Vancouver Island bc.
Really loved this series!!!! Question what is that blanket on your bed? It's nice.
Excelente video, enjoying your journey to such a remote area. You really prepared well, this time. Thanks for the additional information.

💡👍Brilliant !!
Is that interlooper playing into the background.sickk😁
Go over to NWT Canada and you can drive to the ocean year round. Including driving from Inuvik to Tuktoyuktuk.
Correct. I did that in my last Arctic trip in 2022
Nice work! Thanks for doing this.
Awesome series. Do you have a cdh heater. Awesome it was interesting how you mention attic desert, never knew that.
Awesome video. Super cool to see what it's like up there and how it all keeps chugging along.
Not sure if your paths will cross, but another UA-camr, Truck House Life, seems to be making the trek up to Deadhorse as well recently!

You should now do this same drive but in the summer to show the stark difference in how it is in summer vs winter.

Another epic epic episode Chad.
Don’t bother driving home, spend a year or so driving to the most southern point of South America.
I feel it’s your duty !
Can't be done because of the Darien Gap.
Congratulations you made it to there again. Your dedication is inspiring. Not many will do what you just did. I love all your videos but especially this one and the visit to the Arctic.
Thank you Cassi. That really means a lot. Cheers! Keep on truckin!
No there’s people coming & going from there everyday, but you must think the oilpatch is remotely operated I’m assuming?
Chad you should have flown your drone to the ocean lol 😂 yeah and nice to see your camera lol
Great show. I wish I could visit myself. Why don't you make that journey in summer as well.
Fantastic!
