Awh at the beginning when you said the thing about extra pressure is added when you’re sketching, hun, you don’t need to worry, trust me. I’m sure we all don’t really mind haha! 😘
Sketching on camera is awful 😭 I always end up having my head right over the drawing anyways so that always gets in the way. Also I usually prefer sketching in bed rather than at my desk so that makes it inconvenient to. Anyways I totally feel you on that haha
its definitely a lot easier sketching off camera! I used to always sketch on my bed when I lived with my parents! since then I've migrated over to my desk or my couch 😂
I edit parts where my head is covering what I am doing out, it's barely noticeable unless you do real time video's, that's a different story but then a different position of the camera might help. maybe higher or further backwards or from above facing down might help? I made a standard of wood where I can attach my camera on myself that way I could have the best position, maybe this will help you as well.

Totally know what you mean on drawing fanart more than OCs. It's like expressing how much you love a series/character and making your own content to really fill in the blanks, if that makes any sense. But yea, your OCs are really pretty and keep on doing what you love!

I spy Zio 👀 He looks really nice in your style!! Also I liked how this video was really different from your other ones--it was fun to see you draw your OCs! And I totally get wanting to do fanart more--I used to do fanart all the time and it wasn't until a few years ago when I got into roleplaying that I swung over to the OC art side instead ;w; Also paper buckling and visible paper use is really satisfying so I don't blame you for wanting to use watercolors on non-watercolor paper!

I didn't used to think so but now I'm starting to appreciate buckling in sketchbooks a lot haha. I love how much it bulks up sketchbooks, too, and makes them look fuller!
@@tirameowsu OCs are definitely tricky, especially when you have to come up with everything about them from scratch! I noticed that I started drawing mine a lot more when I didn't have as much time (or no time) to watch anime/read manga/play videogames so I was less likely/inspired to do fanart. I also feel like if you don't have a rough idea of a story in mind or a collection of headcanons it can also be hard to do much with them; that was my biggest issue with not drawing my custom species OCs u__u
And the love for paper crinkling is actually really common in the journaling community, especially with the sound it makes when you flip through pages! A lot of the "trending" journals use Tomoe paper which is 52gsm and fountain ink friendly and people loooove using watercolors on it bc of the crinkle effect it creates x'D It's just a really satisfying feeling :>
I completely agree that its harder to create a story for a character when you already have someone else designate certain aspects of a character. I easily have the most attachment to characters I created on my own because I end up thinking about details for them while designing them. recently I've been very intent on having some show in the background while I draw, and I'm sure that contributes to how much fanart I've been drawing 😂
I had no idea that crinkling was pulse for journaling!! I would assume people would want to use heavy paper that supports the ink so everything looks more consistent and "perfect"?? but that makes sense!! it adds a lot more personality to a page imo so I definitely understand the appeal!!
@@tirameowsu I feel like my art subjects come in bursts--I did a few Shaman King doodles when the 2021 reboot got announced and recently I've been doodling some TWEWY since the anime adaption had its first trailer release during anime expo lite and I've been watching a replay of TheNyanCave's let's play of the series. (twewy for the nintendo switch is also currently 50% off until 7/19 to celebrate the anime announcement btw!).
And yeah! the crinkling is more popular for daily journaling; I think 160gsm no show through paper is all the rage for the bullet journaling community rn lol

its hard to recommend supplies because there are so so many mediums 😖 just know you don't need the fanciest and most expensive supplies to make beautiful art!!

Your style is really awesome! I've started playing around with making painting videos and I uploaded my first video last week!
I have some ideas for content that involve a combination of watercolor paintings and comic book panels. Do you think if I added my sketchbook, that my content would be too spread out? I probably won't make too much educational content until I've established myself a little more on the platform.

the only way to know is asking your subscribers what they prefer to watch as you might have a audience with a different taste than she has here. it's hard to judge not knowing what kind of people are watching your video's. I seen people who don't have the will and patience to watch a long artist video and seen other's on other channels who like to see every step in real time of the artist work. I hope this helps a bit.
