Big thank you to your Dad Anna because he is the one who asked you to focus on your art and hire some people to help paint the house. I remember you mentioned that in one of your videos.
Yes he is brilliant at his colour mixing which for many gentlemen is very hard as many do not have the same colour rods in their eyes. Which is why many ladies find their menfolk cannot see the various colours in our outfits as ladies see the colours. ( it's not the 'colourblind' green/red problem). But has to do with the number of colour rods in the eyes
Absolutely! We have a color lab at my job and our color experts are amazing. They have to have their vision tested regularly, and can do things that us mortals can not. It is magical. They always say that color is the first thing that you notice but never talked about.
@@HowToRenovateAChateau Before you stain wood add a "conditioner" to the wood, let dry & then stain. Hardward store or paint store will have wood conditioner.
Really incredible to see people working with their hands and their skills in conjunction with 150-year old machines to produce these wonderful, gorgeous wallpapers. You deserve every bit of joy, abundance and fulfillment that are shining on your face in this video, Anna!
The paper is amazing, the amount of work that goes into it for specific colors, just wow. I love that your idea went from your dreams, to paper, to making your colors, to being manufactured. And all that went into that to color match. You must be so proud of yourself! I absolutely love this happened, and you made all this happen. What an amazing talented woman you are. ❤️
MIND BLOWN !!! How amazing is it that you went this far and had such enormous success with these beautiful wallpapers?! This is such an inspiring and "dreams can come true" episode. I hope it gives lots of people (me included!) the jump-start and faith to follow our passions! Thank you Anna! Oh, and please don't kill Philip. He seems so scared. LOL ! ❤ B in Chicago
Lovely wallpaper!!! I am partial to the deep blue one that you designed. Congratulations on such a marvelous accomplishment Anna. My husband is a graphic designer and knows a great deal about color. It was fascinating watching the gentleman mix the paint and the whole process!!! I love wallpaper and fabrics.
My favorite people on UA-cam. You guys bring so much value to your subscribers, not many out there doing this work can say the same. Thank you for sharing your talent, passions, knowledge and humor with us all!
Kudos to your (super cute) tour guide manager , this Magical-Meister Colorist , and this gentle lady at the rolling machine, they all got to be so proud of their work.
When I saw Philip doing the staining & staining tests last week - I already knew that would end in disaster 😬 ... unfortunately, whenever you do the staining process you have to test from start to finish on a piece of wood before actually doing anything to furniture! We redid all the cabinetry in our home years ago; we spent a month just researching and getting the process figured out first 😅and only afterwards did we start on the real cabinets, which then took another month with 3 people helping!
Always been watching ❤, then I notice Blackburn!! 10 mins away was Mellor, my birth home, my Dad was a Trade machinist from the area, moved to 🇨🇦 cause of too much rain, so enjoyed, my Dads name is your 🐕 name, and his sister is one of your daughters name, I am pinching myself too !!!!! The wallpaper is lovely, and my parents have always loved wallpaper, I know why now ❣❣❣
You typically don’t apply stain the same way as paint. Once brushed on, you wipe off excess. Too light? You repeat (until it’s as dark as you want it). It seems, from what I saw, you left the stain sitting on the surface. It absorbs differently, depending on the grain. Thus your light and dark areas. Start sanding. . .
Exactly what I was going to say... apply the stain,(I typically use a soft cloth, not soaking wet with it, let sit a few minutes, then wipe it back with a clean cloth...never let an area dry in the middle of each section... it must flow all together while wet...if the shad is too light, let dry, then reapply...
I am so happy for you Anna. It was very interesting to observe the process, all the way from how you were inspired and created the design, now to the printing production end. Congratulations Anna 🌟
Anna you are truly incredible, I love how your wallpaper(s) turned out and I just watched the episode about you printing the fabric for the ottoman and I am completely blown away and so impressed by your talent, your eye, and your follow-thru, good on you! Love what you're doing, following your bliss looks great on you!
Those 450 rolls of wallpaper have the combined length of 4.5 kilometres, that's about 13 times the circumference of a football field (real football, not the US thing). So I guess there will be a lot of stunningly decorated rooms thanks to Anna's magnificent designs
Congratulations Anna, you have no idea what your's and Phillips vlogging does for folks who are experiencing difficult times.Your consistentcy and cheery times are soo needed.Thank you😀🎆
Brilliant Anna, love your wallpapers, all the skill and patience that have gone into creating your unique crafts. Another way to support your chateau renovations, LOVE THEM ALL ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The both of you never cease to amaze me. I admire your jolly enthusiasm, talent and hard work. I wish you always get your well deserved success and happiness. Thank you very much for sharing that happiness with me.
Wow Anna , what a wonderful accomplishment! The wallpaper is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing how it was made and printed and in Manchester where my grandparents were from!!!
Fantastic job Anna !! They are beautiful. I worked in small printing shops for about 20 years here in Canada and to see this side of printing blows me away. Thank you for sharing this with us and Congratulations. It truly is wonderful !!!!
I know what you did wrong painting it in the first place. Beautiful wood Benoit was right leave the wood alone.Congratulations on the wall paper delighted for you and all the people that get to put it in their home.
Congratulations Anna, on your wallpaper success, and the talent of the guy mixing the colours by eye at the printing factory was just amazing. Good luck with your new venture Anna. Best wishes, Gail, Czech Republic ❤️
Waaw Anna, how tremendous ! It's so nice of you to give us a tour of this traditional factory. Some superb craftsmanship, and it's so rejoicing to see it preserved to this day ! 💝 I love the continuation and preservation of old crafts. You can see it in Haute Couture often, with the niche specialities of the sewing of feathers or pearls for instance, but more rarely in the area of interior decoration like that, those old carved wooden print cylinders were gorgeous.
I think you may have applied the stain wrong. I’ve always brushed the stain on then wiped it into the wood, which takes the excess away before allowing it to dry, then varnishing it. Just a thought
Soooo fascinating. Thank you, Anna, for sharing your visit to the wallpaper company. Your papers are beautiful. What a thrill to see your design being printed. Loved the episode. Jane
Thank you for taking us with you to the factory .I was so impressed by the process of Making the wallpaper. It was so inspiring that you made your own design!
What a treat🩵🤍💛🤍💙 Thank you so much for sharing your exciting creation and collaboration Anna. What a talented, passionate artist you are🤩 I didn’t understand different dye lots before🤯 Looks like lots of sanding dear Philip🕊️
The wallpaper is lovely, peppermint is my favourite. The factory is wonderful, the colourist incredible. I live in Lancashire and looked the factory up, thank you for showing us your epic experience Anna.😊
The wallpaper looks awesome!!! Well done! I’d really like to have some of the blue wallpaper. But I didn’t understand how one can buy it. Can you explain again how that works? That would be great. Thank you!❤
I'm so excited for you to see this dream become a reality. You put so much thought and skill into all your choices. I know the wallpaper will be a smashing success!
You are such a talented designer and I wish you best in your journey. I have such an appreciation for antiques and restoration to preserve history, and you and your husband do such an amazing job. Thank you for allowing us all on this journey with you and your family.
Once your chateau has been completed I can foresee you opening a business of full-time wallpaper design. There’s a huge potential for growth here. It all depends upon the time you have to devote to future design projects.
The wallpaper looks amazing, how exciting seeing it all come to life. Very interesting seeing how it's all done. For Philip, I think after putting on the colour and waiting a few minutes it needs to be wiped with a cloth to get the excess dye off and then do a second coat with the same procedure.
Big thank you to your Dad Anna because he is the one who asked you to focus on your art and hire some people to help paint the house. I remember you mentioned that in one of your videos.

Remarkable that people have restored & maintained these machines.
I think Philip should hide out in the boat before Anna and Benoit see the stain job disaster…. Maybe even sail away for a couple of weeks

Very excited for you, Anna. I can see the well deserved pride in this lovely art product. 😊

Best Video Ever! Your designs are amazing! I never knew all this about wallpaper! I love the dark blue. Thank you for sharing!

Great collaboration with the printers what a fantastic group of artisans using a traditional machine I loved it 🌸
Congrstulations Anna looking forwards to your next design.
Thank you for sharing the incredible mechanics of printing your wallpaer designs ! I love it ! The engineering of the printing process is awesome !
Also, colorization is an art/science by someone with the knowledge and a good eye !
When I stained furniture, I rubbed the stain in with a nylon stocking to make the stain even.
My roll just arrived safely in Minnesota!
I warned you! Don’t let Phillip get hold of a brunch with stain - Get the painter back - he can sand and fix it. Anna you are the GOAT!

Wonderful!! I loved seeing how the wallpaper was printed. I think Philip might be hiding in the cupboard lol
Anna, absolutely stunning! You so deserve this!🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾😘
I am so, so happy for you Anna!!!! Congratulations
The varnish has to be compatible with the stain, = water based stain, water based varnish, alcohol stain, alcohol varnish.
Call the manufacturer of the varnish and stain for compatibility advice. You will need to sand after each coat as I recall.
Congratulations Anna, you have no idea what your's and Phillips vlogging does for folks who are experiencing difficult times.Your consistentcy and cheery times are soo needed.Thank you😀🎆
Amazing ! Congratulations ! It’s insane to think the machine has not needed to evolve in 200 years.
