      Thanks :)
After this video I ordered two infrared-transceivers but I did not get them to work fully yet.
One of them is an arduino hat but needs the baud-rate to be to configured by soldering and I haven't done that.
So far the 3DS can receive only a burst of garbage, which would in theory be good enough to serve as a clock pulse.
But it would be amazing if it could transmit and receive full midi and convert it to DIN, that's the goal.
The first one is a USB-dongle kind that I could not get to work at all.
I did have success transmitting/receiving from 3DS to 3DS, no problem there.

Looks and sounds fucking awesome. A few months ago i became kind of obsessed with non-VGM music made on game systems, and i was thinking itd be really cool for somebody to do something like this on the 3ds. I’ll definitely be trying this out

@@cooksoni.a Thanks! In all honesty though, the so is far from perfect.
It's a slow after work project, it will probably take several years to "finish" it.
There are more of me though, I found a bunch of other homebrew music apps for the DD/3DS. I will make a video about them :)

I know this will require additional hardware, but every 3DS is equipped with serial-over-infrared, already used by some homebrew apps, I do believe a simple IR transceiver and cheap microcontroller could provide additional control i/o to tap in, would you be on board with enabling support for such expansion?

@MaDmanEXE Yes you are the second person to suggest this.
I am excited about that idea and did some research yesterday.
I wonder whether to try a usb bound dongle first vs. a gpio thing with Arduino.
I didn't even know about the IR on the 3DS before, very cool.
I don't know what kind of speed would be achievable, whether it's feasible for more than clock.
It would be amazing if it allowed for using USB-midi controllers though.
      Thanks!

Cool! Axoloti is a pulse repeater in this chain?
