I remember hearing you practice some of these warmups in the band room and it was the coolest thing ever!

Meistersinger and Blazevich, nice. Whoever picked the rep knows what they’re doing.

Nice! Really love the flexibility, I’ve only been playing the Tuba for a couple years now so it’s really cool to see what players my senior can do!

From what i know from my audition experience: Playing well on the move and being able to move really well is good. Double tonguing is a good skill to have. Lift weights for contra and be in shape for lots of potential running and movements while playing. Practice the music and be as prepared as possible.

Breathing exercises will save your life, make sure you mail the music they give you, no slack allowed

They’ve posted videos of the BD tuba section so I’d assume so

practice the packet to the point where you know EXACTLY what you're going to do in the audition room, down to your stylistic choices and breathing points. preparation is key! mock auditions in front of your friends/family are a good practice method if you're worried about nerves.

practice the stuff you're bad at, practice them slowly, and be consistent with your practice!

I'm a highschool tuba player and the last one is actually pretty easy to play(at least for me) but only because that piece was the one of the TMEA etudes for trombone the previous year which I played. Playing it on tuba just felt so much easier. I want this guys tone though mines isn't as refined.

honestly most of this seems easy except the last one and Arban

    • @jarrettknapp9069

It may seem simple but theybave a huge focus on tone and technique an they look at your ability to adjust your embouchure to keep in tune

@@jarrettknapp9069 oh right, that makes more sense, but at the same time I've been told i have a great tone quality for a freshman
