Ok I genuinely just got it. I've always avoided the concept of an enemy - it's just not a thought I want to entertain. But your explanation made me see it in a new way. THX
Love your videos and perspective on things. Very helpful and I agree on this and the concept of finding ideological alignment to create belonging. Interestingly, I've never bought the authenticity of Taylor's narrative about being unpopular though. Not at the beginning , definitely not now.
Phahahah so Taylor made her whole career on "Im not like the other girls"?! All that while being pretty, skinny, white girl?! Thats some great branding and marketing I give her that.
So far you've had two genius intuitions regarding social influence, but I was wondering if you had any insights on how to build real self-worth and self-esteem, and by that I mean self-assuredness, the kind of “inner resilience” that's not tied to external validation, which I identify as a “state of being”. I ask this because self-assuredness is perceived by others by aura/energy alone. If I act social and confident, people are still gonna instinctively detect the low self-worth underneath. For example, there's this girl I know who has admitted to being reclusive in her teens but after working on herself she's social, outspoken and has made many friends. There is one issue though: despite her social and assertive demeanor, I can sorta feel on an instinctual level that she has zero self-worth, so she still has worked on the external but still hasn't done the inner working. I've been wondering for quite some time on how to achieve that self-assuredness that in turn changes also your aura that people still perceive, but I'm kinda stuck. I know that self-assuredness comes from an inner acceptance of who you are paired with an inner knowing of your worth regardless of external standards, but see, I “know it” rationally, but not in my heart, therefore it does nothing to achieve that change of aura that everyone can detect. How you do start to truly feel self-assured on a deeper level? How do you make it click?
You need to follow your own moral code and values, if you follow that you'll also have "enemies" and the self-assuredness, and you'll be magnetic to does who resonate with your values
I like your videos. On this topic I may comment that throughout my experience I see how people beat down those standing against some unfairness in life in a bad way. Unless it's safe or there is some concrete chance of winning, there is no backup coming. Probably if this unfairness would be low key, so that it's not too scary & at the same time tolerated by the majority, then it could work. Just my thoughts on the matter.
The often forced and unnecessary tedium of modern life. Example - I have 6 different things I need a 2 factor ID for every morning when I start work. 6. Makes me want to take up arson as a hobby.
This must be why I love gloryhammer so much, I too have to fight an army of corrupted undead unicorns control by an evil wizard called Zargothrax, who kidnapped the princess Iona McDougall during an invasion of dundee. I'm joking of course, gloryhammer isn't my thing, but I do love metal and this definitely does apply to the metal fandom as a whole.
This is exactly how politics works! Each party has an enemy and that's how they get you to vote. It's simple psychology using th US Vs Them theme but it sure does work!

This was a decent dive into the human psyche. So interesting.
It’s not magnetism, it’s that people who find other people magnetic, in a hysterical manner, are seriously psychologically unbalanced.
Great video!
You're very silly, I love it

Nike’s enemy is fair wages ...correlated media critique with trump supporters that’s certainly painting a brand / enemy, ahhh deception lol🎉🎉
