Being the uke for a submission where the guy teaching it is talking about how easily and quickly it can devastate the knee has got to be so nerve wracking.
That's were you know jiujitsu has become a game more than a martial art which means for the 2 guys in the back War Art, in other words Killing Art, the most dangerous move i know is from inside close guard or simply standing infront of your opponent and it's the front triangle neck crank, because it aims (at the opposite of the rear naked choke but with the same form from the front) to break the cervicals instead of choking your opponent, you put the lever on the chin with your hand that should be at the back of the head (which makes it different from an ezekiel or easykill) and your forearm that should be choking is now dislocating your opponent cervical spinal cord it works also in full mount of course, it's a forbidden move and it's a killing move if your opponent don't tap it's not a nap it's cemetary or wheelchair for the rest of his life now that's what i call a dangerous move.
Thank you for this video. I’ve been slowly delving into reaping from Ashi and actually ended up in this position a few times. Had no clue about that danger level.
i get your point, but also, spreading knowledge about them helps people that have seen them before react appropriately. I'm a casual, if i ever see someone from here on out, trying a z lock, i'm tapping. maybe before i wouldn't have had the tools to recognise it, now i do and i can protect myself.
@@Rotscrek just what i thought, i've never seen a z lock and i'm a purple belt, from now on i'll be extra careful with them, that includes warning others
Thanks so much! I'll do my best, as always to avoid being put in to cross side ashi, and should it happen, and my leg placed outside, TAP IMMEDIATELY! And ABSOLUTELY take care of your training partners.. they are the element that makes you better, so be careful with your Uke so you can continue to get better. Besides, you hurt your Uke, and no one else will want to roll with you except for the Nicky Rods, Craigs, or the like.
It’s interesting how jujitsu it’s not OK to injure your training partners, but it’s OK to do it in competition. It’s basically 100% OK competition. Not knowing who you’re gonna get in a local weekend, BJ competition, makes the whole thought of getting a painted gold medal for my efforts, something I might reconsider.
Ikr hearing Nicky rod talk about ripping some dudes arm off like it’s the same as hitting your first home run or something is hilarious but terrifying 😂
Most of these moves are banned in the weekend hobbyist competitions you mention. Just participate where there is a no reap, no kani basami, no heel hook, no kneebar ruleset and you're golden
its so funny that the video starts with the Z Lock. "it causes catastrophic breaks in the knee" we know, we saw (and heard) what happened to Ethans brother lmao

Reverse toehold. If you can stop your opponent from rotating wit it, its essentially a power inside heel hook. That and it very uncommon, so similar to a Z lock, your opponent usually doesnt realize the danger until its too late.
Ruotolo grabbing his head like he's fucking surprised he broke someone's shit with Kani Basami 😂 It's like 50/50 if you do that you're breaking someone.

And the thing is these guys have different standards, at the end they're talking about how the jumping scissor take down can "in worst cases put you out for a year". It can definitely be more than a year, it can be several years. And with knee injuries your ligaments never go back to what they were, even after multiple surgeries. One of my instructors hasn't had anything that catastrofic happen to his knee, yet he's now been in about 10 surgeries. That shit will never be healed, it will simply be more bearable.
I think Nicky Rod is missing the point here. In ADCC they are more tolerant but in IBJJF where most of jumped close guard happens if you fall with your opponent you will get DQd for slam.

@@megaRv24 well i guess if you put it that way you mean submissions that are dangerous because they dont feel anything until it breaks.
