    This is NOT a touch ID fix. This is only a home button fix. You can not fix touch ID unless you are apple as it is programmed to sync with the motherboard.

    Hi thanks for such a clear video which clearly shows each part of the ribbon. I was stuck not understanding that my speaker had parts of the old phone on it and you clearly showed how it was suppose to look so I took the metal rubber piece off that was still attached!

    Hi I have changed the screen on my iPhone 6 and need to swap over my home button to my new black screen, my old screen was white, can I swap the bottom part of my old white home button to my new black screen other if I got to do both parts it will be a old white home button on my new black screen, I hope that makes sense. Also can I replace the 3 rectangular connectors on the flex ribbon on my iPhone 5c screen because they have come apart from my screen and obviously I can't power on my screen now. Great video Thankyou.

    This doesn't restore touch id since the home button is paired with the phones they were manufacturered with. To restore touch id you would need the button from the original phone & solder that to a new flex cable from a different home button. Afaik that's the only way you can restore touch id functionality.

    HI! I have an old iPhone 6S lying around and thought about fixing it for music use. The screen was cracked and the home button did nothing so I sent away for parts and changed them. The problem is that the home button is still unresponsive. For a bit I thought the extension ribbon cable might be bad but I realized that got changed with the new screen. I'm thinking it must be the motherboard. Any suggestions?

    I have an iPhone 6 that I replaced the LCD and Screen on. The replacement screen came with the home button already in it, and the touch ID doesn't work. Can I put my original home button in the new screen and get the touch ID work again?

      Yes, the Touch ID sensor is tied to the logic board. It won't work with other Touch ID sensors.

      Once you have removed the home button and put it into a new screen the touch ID no longer works.

      @@redrizz9093 You can just put the original home button in with working touch id onto your replacement screen.

      The home button is paired from the factory so that Touch ID will ONLY work with it's original phone. The only way to get Touch ID to work with a new home button is to have it repaired by Apple.

    How fingerprint work again?

    • @howfixit
      @howfixit  5 років тому +5

      The fingerprint will only work with the native button that was installed from the factory on the iPhone. Any other button will work as a return to the main screen.
