Monoja Kennedy Imagine how Isaac must have felt when he realized that it was only a test of faith and that he was never going to die by his father’s own wishes.
Oh yes imagine what someone; who growing up saw his father have a strong relationship with God, and be blessed because of his relationship, and being told that he was the son God had promised him who would go on to have God's promise fulfilled through him; felt when his father set him up to be sacrificed to that very same God who worked in his father's life to prosper him because of his faith.
If Abraham wants to sacrefice Isaac : Oh my god, he is such a honest beliver. If I want to sacrefice my son to the voices in my head: You monster, how could you do this. ..... this double moral.
Uh God had proven himself to be faithful to Abraham over the years, Isaac's birth was just one such way he proved it to Abraham. I doubt those voices in your head have proven to be faithful at all.
This story is NOTHING SHORT OF PSYCHOTIC. In 2024, if a person did this, it would be literally considered textbook SCIZOPHRENIA. But because this SILLY STORY is "allegedly" 2000 yrs old, BILLIONS OF PEOPLE accept this ABSOLUTE LUNACY as HOLY TRUTH.
Keep in mind that the angel is actually "The Angel of the Lord", who's actually Yahweh/God in the Bible. Christians would say that he's a pre-incarnate Jesus.
@@Basedbrawler But we’ve been doing just fine for many generations too! I believe that beliefs are just a thing to keep us in check with our consciousness.. to do the right/good thing and that there is a price to pay for doing the wrong/bad thing.. almost doesn’t matter what you believe in because every religion follows similar ideas.💡but sacrificing is too much xD poor Isaac bro probably traumatized..😅
It was a test of his love. I'm sure Abraham must have wondered what kind of God this was to ask this of him...remember Abraham had left Mesopotamia where child sacrifices were the norm then. Abraham obeyed because he knew what kind of a God He had put his faith in...a God Who would be able to raise his son from the dead and restore him to Abraham. True enough, God stopped Abraham just as he was about to plunge the knife into Isaacs heart. God provided an animal. But many many years later, God provided The Lamb Of God , JESUS CHRIST to be the sacrifice for our sins. God stopped Abraham from killing Isaac but He didn't stop the killing of His own sinless Son. Christ bore the wrath of God which should have been directed to us. JESUS TOOK THE PUNISHMENT MEANT FOR US. HE BORE IT FOR US SO THAT WE NEED NOT SUFFER THE WRATH OF GOD! THIS IS THE GOD WHO'S WORTHY TO BE PRAISED AND WORSHIPPED. JESUS IS GOD THE SON, BECOME MAN SO THAT HE COULD BE THE SACRIFICE INSTEAD OF US. IMAGINE MY GOD DIED FOR ME! WHICH GOD WOULD WANT TO DIE FOR HIS CREATION! UNSPEAKABLE LOVE. BUT THEN CHRIST DIED AND ROSE AGAIN FROM THE DEAD SO THAT WE COULD LIVE WITH HIM FOREVER MORE!
In the islamic scriptures, it was Ismael who was chosen to be sacrificed and Issac was not even borned yet. Abraham saw that in the dream that he was sacrificing his only son to the God. Abraham shared his dream with his Son. The righteous son give his consent to Abraham and suggested his noble father to blindfolded himself so that he couldn't deviate from the will of God, out of fatherly love. Once, Abraham got finished with the sacrifice and removed his blindfold he saw that there was a lamb which got sacrificed in the place of his son and Ismael was standing next to him. Thus, every year Muslims sacrifice a particular kind of animals in the memory of Abraham and Ismael, which symbolise that when the right time comes they won't hasistate to sacrifice their loved ones in the way of God. God bless you all.
Godspeed Absolutely NOT bro. Christianity has a few similarity with Islam because at first it was a divine command from Allah as Islam is. But day by day Christianity has been changed. And now even the basic beliefs of these two religions are totally different.
Godspeed Godspeed Just read my first comment once again. Christians say that Isaac was with Abraham at that time, but we believe, our Quran says that it was Ismaeel (as). And Isaac/Is-hak (as) is the second son of Abraham/Ibrahim (as) who was born many years after that incident.
I I always love this instance. Abraham, knowing (although there not being a written mosaic law yet) that God hates human sacrifice, would obviously be puzzled as to this request. It was quite a long walk to where they had to go, plus near the location, Abraham left the attendent, and went just him and Isaac; I just think if it was me in that situation. Obviously an order from God is to be followed unquestionably. Not out of fear but out of love. Why would God ask me to sacrifice my only son that he gave me as a promise, when He hates human sacrifice?? Abraham knew God, as the apostle Paul stated Abraham knew God could raise Isaac from the dead. Although knowing this, Abraham was faithful as Noah was and did just so. He may have had tons of questions, might have not understood the reasons behind any of this request, but faithfully went ahead to carry it out knowing that God would make things work out. That must have been the hardest thing to tie up Isaac, (Abraham likely told Isaac of the request, and Isaac being faithful went along with it) and grab the knife, and right at the last second before the knife went into Isaac God intervened and stopped Abraham. I really love what God said: “Do not hurt the boy or do anything to him. Now I know that you have faith in me, because you have not held back your son, your only one from me.” Although Isaac was not sacrificed, Paul said Abraham AS GOOD AS offered up his son Isaac. God later put Himself through the same experience when Jesus died: imagine this; Jesus, Gods son, the firstborn of all creation, the first being God created, who than gave him the power and privilege of creating all other things, and no doubt directed him through the creation like a father teaching his son how to fix a car or build a house or similar things, the two having such an immense bond of love from spending eons together….to later have to watch His son, on earth, beaten, whipped, being called a liar, a blasphemer, to watch his son hanging there in agony on the stake, than having to withdraw His Holy Spirit from Jesus so he could be fully tested to the absolute limits…then, seeing his son take his last breath, and die, and for three days, His dear son was not in existence. Gone. Just a memory. Although God knew He was going to bring him back, I can’t even imagine the heartache He felt. But Jesus sacrifice was needed- it was needed to repay the prefect life that Adam lost, and by Jesus death humans are given a second chance to live for eternity on earth in perfect health, disease free, war free, hatred and racism gone. No more problems that make life miserable today. All ruled Gods own government ruled by Jesus. Dead loved ones and millions of others being raised back to life again in perfect health with perfect bodies. Death will be gone. Living for eternity on earth, with our loved ones all in perfect health. These promises are all in the Bible.
Well, he has done Greek and Norse Mythology and he has made videos about other religions. Watching videos about the Bible is no different, they’re nice to listen too.
This is what I mentioned in my comment. Why read, and not get the truth out of a, " TRUE STORY" , IT'S BECAUSE ANYTHING THAT DON'T MAKE SINCE TO PEOPLE WHO DOESN'T WANT THE ,"WHOLE", TRUTH TRY TO PUSH OPINIONS OF LIES AT WHO DO BELIEVE. AND HAVE FAITH!
This was referring to, DAVID O. Comment, it's true stories, over time we have seen biblical events occurring every day! I have faith, THANK YOU MY LORD!
Maybe it was because I was still young, but I remember one of the first issues I had with the Bible was this story in particular. I never got a satisfactory answer to the question, "If he is all knowing, he knows the answer already, so why does he have to test Abraham’s faith?" It wasn’t long after I saw the fallacy of what I was being taught.
Hi! I love your question. You are correct that God is all-knowing and He knew Abraham's decision. However Abraham didn't know everything and also he said he trusted that God will provide a lineage for him but never had a reason to doubt God. The test was pivotal in Abraham's growth as a person and for Abraham to realize that this was for real (remember prior to that, his previous test involved him doubting and taking matters in his own hands and ended in disaster) And he did. Think of it like an author writing a book. The author knows what the characters will do in a certain situation but still has to write out those situations so we can see characterization and growth. I hope this makes sense. Have a good day!
Just like Job who didn't know it at the time but God was using him as a testimony to trust and have faith in God no matter what. God knew what Abraham would do just like he knew what Job would do. Its through hard times, sufferings, trials, and tribulations that our faith is made strong and we become closer to God
Never can a man after Abraham, make such an ultimate sacrifice! Only an extraordinary being. He truly is a man of great faith who loved God with the whole of his heart. He is the man i admire and have great respect for and am proud to be one of his many descendants.🤗😇
As a muslim its very lovely to see the Christian side of the story ,in Islam the events occurred in Makkah in the boy who has been sacrificed is Ishmael . Thanks brothers
god sacrifices his only son (Jesus) and we showed how evil we was. I think it's a good story to show we can make huge sacrifices as well. Abraham gave god hope in mankind
I don’t believe in it. Cause I have my own religion but as a person from another point of view I can say that Christians demonized everything that doesn’t believe in what they believe. Question is what if they were the evil ones in disguise? And always demonizing the other people and trying to turn them just because they don’t believe in it? Mhmm idk but idc much. I have my own believes🤣
Mankind is unpredictable here's a example Adem n Eve. but god being all knowing didn't expect them to disobey him. Were still unpredictable even till this day how many ppl have divorced that thought on the wedding day they'll love each other till the end. everyone's been through ex's. coz we all stop having faith in each other. God knows mankind is complicated when it comes to faith coz one thought to yourself can change your prospective of the path you chose quickly. btw god sacrifices his only son (Jesus). So Abraham willing to do the same showed god should still have faith in us.
Keep in mind that the angel is actually "The Angel of the Lord", who's actually Yahweh/God in the Bible. Christians would say that he's a pre-incarnate Jesus.
The Bible miniseries from the History Channel a few years ago used this interpretation. The "Angel" who usually interacted with Abraham was Jesus wearing a cloak with the hood up. This created a really nice sense of continuity between the Old Testament and New Testament episodes.
Isaac did not forgive his father When they returned home he saw In the sidelong glances of his father’s eyes That everything had changed Under the cold knife That kissed his skin on the mountain He knew they could never Be the same again “You were my father,” He wanted to say “So why couldn’t you be my father?” (And My Father’s Love Was Nothing Next To God’s Will by Amatullah Bourdon)

As far as i know, ismail was the one to be sacrificed not isaac, that's why muslims have aid idhha where they sacrifice a sheep since ismail is the father of the first muslims
Probably depends on the source. In the book of Moses in the old Testament it's said to be Isaak. Does it stand differently in the Koran? Would be interesting to know. :)
@@Revia21 Yes dear friend. In the Quran (God forbid if I make any error though) Allah Almighty (God) made Ibrahim (Abraham) (As) dream. In the dream, he asked Ibrahim (As) to sacrifice his son. Ibrahim (As) thought that it was the Satan (Shaytan) trying to fool him so he ignored the dream. Then next day he yet again saw the same dream and knew that it was a legit message from God. Ibrahim (As) decided to take Ismail (As) to Mount of Arafat. During their journey to Arafat at a spot called Mina the Satan came to them in the form of an old man. He tried to convince them that what they are doing is wrong but Ibrahim (As) a true believer, denied him and picked up a handful of small stones. He threw them at the Satan and carried on. Satan tried to stop them twice more but each time Ibrahim (As) threw stones at him and he was gone. Upon reaching Arafat, Ibrahim (As) told his son about God's wish and Ismail (As) agreed. He asked his father to tie him and blindfold himself. Ibrahim(As) did just the same and presumably slit his son's throat but when he took his blindfold off. Ismail (As) was standing and smiling at him while a Ram had been sacrificed at his place. It was a difficult test by God Almighty that the father-son duo passed. In the memory of this very same incident, Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Azha and sacrifice animals like goat, lamb, cow, camel etc in the name of Allah Almighty. Like many people wrongly assume it is NOT an act of animal violence. The animals sacrificed are fully grown (2 years old the least) and their meat, skin etc is all used for good purposes. Meat is distributed amongst the deserving poor and needy people and the skin is used in tanneries and leather companies etc. The animals sacrificed are not endangered species at all in fact the sacrifice of a cow or goat does not hugely affects the total population. Their birth rate is fast. So it is not the end of the Cow species. According to our religion, all the animals sacrificed in the name of God go straight to heaven. They do not feel any pain at death as well. I hope that it answered your question well and cleared any misconceptions (if you had any). Peace and love for all✌🏻♥️
I recently figured out that Abraham (the father) was going to sacrifice his only son Isaac (the son) and not only that his altar was made of wood just like Jesus was the only son of God that sacrificed on a wooden cross I didn't see the parallel until today 😊 I don't understand how people don't believe that Jesus is the Messiah when their is just too many consequences.
God forces us humans, you-mans, to feel extreme horrors and terrors, in terms of making us strong and brave. After couple of close to death experiences as singlehand sailor, my perception of fear changed completely: if the ocean couldn’t take my life, why should I fear street gangs or drug dealers or what ever governement propaganda people wants us to have fear on.
**Ruzena ** That just means you never loved and trusted God strong enough to obey Him without question. In other words, you are not a true believer. And changing religion or becoming atheist does not make God stop existing because you feel like it. Again, you’re not a true believer if you go by your feelings instead of your faith.
God sacrifices his only son (jesus) and if you can't do the same to any of your love one's no matter how sad it will get then god might not have faith in you coz you don't have it in him. At least your love one will go to heaven guaranteed waiting at the gates with god to open them if you had faith.
What is the meaning of Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac after waiting so long for him to be born? Here’s the answer: 1. Abraham by conqueror rights claimed the borders of Israel. The Hittites said he was a great prince among them. 2. The long wait for Isaac to be born indicated the long wait for Jesus to come. 3. God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac to prove his faith, but also to display an acted out event that would occur in future. 4. Abraham was the actor representing God. Isaac was the actor representing Jesus. God said now I know you would sacrifice your son, your only son, just as God would sacrifice his only son, Jesus. Moses wrote this about 1600 years before it happened. 5. When Isaac got up off the altar alive, it pictured the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 6. This play was acted out 3 days away on top of Mt Moriah. Just as Jesus would be resurrected 3 days after his death on Mt Moriah, the place where Jerusalem was built. 7. God told Abimelech that Abraham was a prophet. He foretold the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, Genesis 20:7. The ram caught in the thicket was a young male and wore the crown of thorns, the typology of the Messiah, all the animal sacrifices from that point represented, until the Son of God could come.
What a beautiful and inspiring story. I do wonder about some of the geographical logistics in this account though. For example, why did God make Abraham, Isaac, two servants, and a donkey trek all the way to Moriah for the offering? This took 3 days time and covered around 45 miles one way. Couldn't the offering have been closer to Beersheba so Abraham wouldn't be inconvenienced so much? The extended absence of the servants and donkey at Abraham's estate likely had an impact on activities there as well. Abraham doesn't seem like a very efficient traveler either. Why pack the fire wood in Beersheba and transport it all the way to Moriah? Wouldn't there be sources of fire wood of the proper size and quantity needed to burn his son's body near Moriah itself? Was there a significant vegetation difference between Beersheba and Moriah or perhaps a timber shortage? It seems like the donkey could have been put to better use carrying water and food rations for the 4 human travelers rather than merely carrying a commodity item such as fire wood for an admittedly atypical burnt offering. Also, Abraham, being fairly old at the time, could have just asked the youthful Isaac to collect the firewood when they arrived in Moriah in addition to having him help build his own sacrifice altar. This would have given Abraham the rest an older traveler needs as well as extra time to deal with his "saddened" emotion. Instead the story says the elderly Abraham cut his own wood in Beersheba and hauled it 45 miles to Moriah. Does anyone know why God chose to be so wasteful of Abraham's time? Is there a lesson in there that I'm not seeing? Anyways the rest of the story is beautiful and demonstrates the level that humans will go to for God's perfect love.
In no way am I an expert in the Bible but my guess is it’s just another example of Abraham following God’s will/commands. You’re right God could have told Abraham to get the firewood later but I think Abraham following God’s commands further shows his loyalty to God (on top of him agreeing to sacrifice Isaac).
@@isaacabraham938 But at no time in the story does God tell Abraham where to get the firewood, so it can't be a loyalty metric. The scripture implies it is totally at Abraham's discretion as to where the the wood should come from. It seems Abraham is revealing his sophomoric planning skills to God (as well as his own servants and Isaac) by hauling a commodity 45 miles that could have easily been harvested at the sacrifice site. Also, a typical Hindu funeral pyre needs about 500 kg (1,100 lb) of wood to burn a body completely. A typical donkey carries only 50 kg of load, so 10 donkeys would have been required just for the wood transport, assuming we're talking full combustion of the offering. All this would suggest harvesting the wood at the sacrifice site as the only practical solution... unless wood vegetation was scarce in Moriah in those times. Contemporary photographs of the Moriah area show adequate trees and shrubbery that should have allowed the wood to be harvested there.
Why would Isaac even hug Abraham....thats a beytral. He was willing to sacrifice his own son for a man he can not see. I will feel some type of way. He should of protect his son
Can anyone tell me what Sarah was doing or were was she when abraham took lsaac, this question is for but jewish and non jewish l like this, your story is 10 at of 100 if you jewish you what l mean
In the earliest Biblical narrative, It is believed that, Isaac died that day on Mt. Moriah. Far from setting an example in which God intervenes to end human sacrifice, Abraham, the father of monotheism, is revealed as a man who can walk his own son to the altar and even wield the blade himself.(Source: The Times of Israel - Tzemah Yoreh) Which story is more true, the one requiring 2 supernatural beings or the simple version from the older source. It was normal to make human sacrifices to god. The bible demands the sacrifice of your first born. Exodus 13:12-14
Abraham and the meaning of Love +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This is a story of a Father going to sacrifice his son to Heaven in the bid to understand his own Divine Child within ( Inner Child) and to Manifest the true Son without who corresponds perfectly to the child within ... The Angel here signifies the bypassing of the Wall that every human has built from his Karma of birth where he hides himself forever due to guilt and shame and the graceful entry to the inner sanctum of the heart, it reveals the Heaven within us where the Divine Son resides and manifest everything good that we can have without.... Indeed Love is born when Lust( attachments even to children) is Sacrificed on the Altar of Faith of the Inner Child....
every year around 5-6 millions of muslims all over the world from many races, arabs and non arabs gather in Mecca and Medina for the Haj pilgrimage observing father Abraham's sacrifice of his son, Ishmael that Allah substituted for a lamb. This annual Hajj observing Ishmael's willingness to die in order to obey Allah's order has been performed since 13 thousand years ago.

When it's a non western religion touting child sacrifice, it's unacceptable. Why is this considered honorable or righteous? It's no different than those sacrificing their kids to Baal and Molech by fire. How do Christians reconcile this blatant inconsistency?
In Genesis chapter 17 God Already promised Abraham that through his son Issac his offsprings will be reckoned . in genesis chapter 22 God ordered Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, but it was not God's ultimate intent. it was to see if Abraham believed. in God's promise, it was just a test.
this makes so much sense. Abraham had to sacrifice his son for god, just like god would sacrifice his son for us. However the lamb (Jesus) was sacrificed instead of isaac, which really goes to show that jesus truly died for us

Please use Capital G when you refer to Almighty God. I agree. He found somebody who was Faithfull enough to offer his Only Son, believing Gods promise that trough his Son a great nation will be born. He had no doubt that God will keep his promise. He did not know how it will happen when he sacrificed his Son, maybe by resurrection( My guess). But he Trusted God, and God on the other hand kept his promise that trough him all Nations will be blessed. God so loved the World that he gave his Only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting Life. I see a lot of people comment here who can not understand or utter their own opinion based on Carnal Mind. If the Gospel is Veiled to you it is because you will perish and you are still Blinded by the god of this World. Humble yourself before God, Confess your Sins unto him and ask him to forgive you and reveal himself to you. If you do that Honestly you will receive answer, it is up to you. God offers you Mercy all you have to do is Believe. God Bless all of you who read this. Choice is yours.

in Genesis chapter 17:15-21 God already promised to Abraham that through Isaac his Offspring will be reckoned. Even though God ordered Abraham to sacrifice his son in genesis 22 that was not God's ultimate intent. As Jesus said... if you ignore the "leaven' in any story you might get the real story-I couldnt stop laughing during this-In fact, I think I died and went to heaven. Scary world it is!
I don't think everything in Genesis happened in chronological order. 1. Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac was born. 2. Isaac was 40 years old when he married Rebekah (Abraham was 140, but still living) 3. Isaac was 60 years old when he became father to Esau and Jacob (Abraham was 160, but still living) 4. Abraham died at 175. (Isaac was 75 and Jacob 15 at the time of Abraham's death) 5. Isaac was 131 (and blind) and Jacob was 71 when Jacob fled to Laban after getting his father's blessing instead of Esau. 6. Jacob was 91 when Joseph was born (and Isaac was 151, but still living). 7. Joseph was 17 when he was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers (Jacob was 108, Isaac was 168, but still alive) 8. Isaac died at age 180. (Jacob was 120, and Joseph was 29 (and in Egypt prison) at time of Isaac's death) 9. Joseph was 30 when he became Governor of Egypt (Jacob was 121). 10. Joseph was 39 (after 7 years plenty and 2 years famine) when he reunited with his brothers and Jacob (who was 130 at that time) 11. Jacob died at age 147 (Lived in Egypt for 17 years, Joseph was 56 at time of Jacob's death) 12. Joseph died at age 110.

“Lord, grant me a righteous son, so we gave him the good news that he would have a patient Son. When the boy was old enough to work with his father, Ibrahim said my son, I have seen myself sacrificing you in a dream. What do you think? He said, father do as you are commanded and, God willing, you will find me steadfast. When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on the side of his face, we called out to him Ibrahim you have fulfilled the dream. This is how we reward those who do good. It was a test to prove their true characters, we ransomed his son with a momentous sacrifice and we let him be praised by succeeding generations, peace be upon Ibrahim! This is how we reward those who do good: truly he was one of our faithful servants” (Saffat; 99-112). The sons of ibrahim a.s. are pure from lies and human fabrication. They taught about religion from the best, there father Ibrahim a.s.. At the time of the sacrifice, Ismail a.s. was about 7-9 years old, so he told his father "do as you are commanded". Imagine this degree of faith in God, the conviction and purity of his heart. He knew that his father was a friend of Allah and that what was revealed to him was true. No grain of doubt emerges from Ismail's speech, as seen from the Qur'anic verses. Look at the greatnes of Ibrahim a.s. asking his little child for opinion: "What do you think?..."
Where was Jesus crucified. Was it on a hill like we see pictures of the 3 crosses one in the middle usually taller. No Our Lord Jesus was not even crucified on a hill because there was not one matching the Biblical description for the place of the crucifixion. Jesus was crucified on a mountain. The name of the mountain is Mount Moriah, the same mountain where God told Abraham to sacrifice his son and likely the same place. Genesis 22: 6 So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. Abraham did not need to lay his son on the wood because, God laid His Son on the wood. Genesis 22: 8 And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself THE LAMB for a burnt offering.”So the two of them went together. Abraham did not have to sacrificed his son, because God sacrificed HIS SON. Abraham brought his son on a donkey and Our God did bring His Son on a Donkey. We see how even here is a fulfilling of the old testament Reason God wanted Abraham to go Mount Moriah is what Jesus was referring to in John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” Abraham considered that God could raise Isaac from the dead. But God DID raise His Son up from the dead. God did not want to see what Abraham would do, but God wanted to show Abraham what He would do on that same mountain. The place of Jesus’s crucifixion would have to have been located outside the city in accordance with Roman and Jewish customs of the time. The Gospels, too, seem to suggest that Jesus was crucified outside of the city. Matthew 27: 39 And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads 40 and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.” They were on their way to Jerusalem for the Passover, But did not see that the real Passover Lamb was hanging on that Cross. Jesus Did not eat the Passover lamb because He Was The Passover LAMB. (Hebrews 13:11-14) The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp. And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace that He bore. For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the City that is to come (Hebrews 13:11-14). The name of place of the Crucifixion was Golgotha, as the Bible tells us, which in Aramaic means “PLACE OF THE SKULL.” The Latin word for skull is Calvaria, The Bible refer to this as site of the crucifixion. If it was a hill like some pictures show, a crowd could not have gathered there. Where than was it? Read 1 Samuel 17: 53 And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they spoiled their tents. 54 And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armor in his tent. David a 17 or 18 year old boy walked a day about 40 KM and carried the scull of Goliath. He placed it outside the city. David would not have been allowed in the city with the scull. It must have been placed on something solid or maybe buried. This place was known to the people as a place of a Scull, This was the providence of God Our Lord. God did not let David a days journey without a purpose. Criminals were crucified outside the city wall and not carried on a long distance. Where Jesus was crucified must have been a place where a crowd could gather and people pass by, were on their way to the gate of Jerusalem for the Passover. The wall of Jerusalem was behind Him, which made it possible for the people to hear Him speak. There was not a little sign at the Cross but big letters on the wall of Jerusalem 37 And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. Jesus feet must have been not farther from the ground as 3 feet to be able to speak to His Mother and the Disciples. All 3 crosses were the same size Jesus was not counted more worthy than a Criminal. We can conclude from this that: “Place Of A scull” must be where David placed the Scull of Goliath. I personally belief that it was still there and was crushed. Maybe even under the cross so that it signified God’s Word Genesis 3:15, And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your HEAD, And you shall bruise His heels.” The Feet of Jesus were on each side of the cross beam and nails were driven through His Heel(s). The only place in the feet that would break not the bones. The Hebrew word can also mean heels. This HE is Christ The Son Of God No mater what happened to the Scull, Satan’s head was crushed when Jesus said: “IT is finished.”

Imagine how Isaac must have felt when he realized that it was only a test of faith and that he was never going to die by his father’s own wishes.

We Muslims believe that Ibrahim (as) was ordered to sacrifice Ismaeel (as), though.
And that's the truth
Godspeed Absolutely NOT bro. Christianity has a few similarity with Islam because at first it was a divine command from Allah as Islam is. But day by day Christianity has been changed. And now even the basic beliefs of these two religions are totally different.
Godspeed Godspeed Just read my first comment once again. Christians say that Isaac was with Abraham at that time, but we believe, our Quran says that it was Ismaeel (as). And Isaac/Is-hak (as) is the second son of Abraham/Ibrahim (as) who was born many years after that incident.
The biggest different is the way all three religions worship God.
Good for you
I I always love this instance.

Because you are a sane human.
Maybe it was because I was still young, but I remember one of the first issues I had with the Bible was this story in particular.
I never got a satisfactory answer to the question, "If he is all knowing, he knows the answer already, so why does he have to test Abraham’s faith?"
It wasn’t long after I saw the fallacy of what I was being taught.

The Bible miniseries from the History Channel a few years ago used this interpretation. The "Angel" who usually interacted with Abraham was Jesus wearing a cloak with the hood up. This created a really nice sense of continuity between the Old Testament and New Testament episodes.

Gods only son would regain life after 3 days. Ours wouldn't @@mynamenlastname1017
What is the meaning of Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac after waiting so long for him to be born? Here’s the answer:
Abraham seriously lacks parenting skills.
In no way am I an expert in the Bible but my guess is it’s just another example of
Abraham following God’s will/commands.
Sacrifice was of Ismail peace be upon him

this makes so much sense. Abraham had to sacrifice his son for god, just like god would sacrifice his son for us. However the lamb (Jesus) was sacrificed instead of isaac, which really goes to show that jesus truly died for us
Question why did God ask Abraham to do these why not the other son and why now
Which sons of abraham was going to be slaughtered
how Isaac can carry the woods which that time he was just 2 years old? Please read clearly the Book of Genesis.
It was the evil Moloch who told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac it was YHWH the Heavenly Father who intervened and sent Archangel Micha'EL the I Am to stop Abraham from sacrificing Isaac to the evil Moloch at which time Abraham started serving YHWH...
Both sons of Abraham (peace be upon him) were Prophets
I know how bad this story sounds but remember god sacrifice his only son (jesus) so it was a test to see if mankind would do the same.

YHWH sent his son YHSWH who volunteered to repay a blood debt the soul's could not repay
@@joshuabacon4564 Yeah I'm not gonna argue with someone who actually read the bible aha coz i hadn't. But that's a interesting term YHWH (GOD) and YHSWH (JESUS) which bible is that in?

in Genesis chapter 17:15-21 God already promised to Abraham that through Isaac his Offspring will be reckoned. Even though God ordered Abraham to sacrifice his son in genesis 22 that was not God's ultimate intent. It was just to see if Abraham believed in God's promise that through his son Isaac all his descendants will be reckoned. People's come up with conclusions without reading the Bible.

Doesnt matter about who is being sacrafice eithe Issac or Ishmael..
The moral of the story is SACRAFICE & SINCERE FAITH of “father & son” towards the creator G-D..
🕍💒🕌❤️🙏🏽🤲🏾😇🤝
brothers it is ishmael it is sacrified
Abraham passed the test of loyalty more so than faith; he had already been faithful with the Lord. Did not Abraham walk with the Lord?
The God of the Aztecs required human sacrifice, too. Did they also walk with the Lord?
@@laurasomebody that's what I'm saying!
didnt you read properly this was a test
if god want human sacrefice then he will let issac to die
God have many ways to do something
this sacrefice incident also have many reasons
the faith of abraham and his followers became more stronger and god also tell that he dont want any human sacrefice
As Jesus said... if you ignore the "leaven' in any story you might get the real story-I couldnt stop laughing during this-In fact, I think I died and went to heaven. Scary world it is!
???
Sounds like an initiation into a mob gang
I don't think everything in Genesis happened in chronological order.
1. Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac was born.
2. Isaac was 40 years old when he married Rebekah (Abraham was 140, but still living)
3. Isaac was 60 years old when he became father to Esau and Jacob (Abraham was 160, but still living)
4. Abraham died at 175. (Isaac was 75 and Jacob 15 at the time of Abraham's death)
5. Isaac was 131 (and blind) and Jacob was 71 when Jacob fled to Laban after getting his father's blessing instead of Esau.
6. Jacob was 91 when Joseph was born (and Isaac was 151, but still living).
7. Joseph was 17 when he was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers (Jacob was 108, Isaac was 168, but still alive)
8. Isaac died at age 180. (Jacob was 120, and Joseph was 29 (and in Egypt prison) at time of Isaac's death)
9. Joseph was 30 when he became Governor of Egypt (Jacob was 121).
10. Joseph was 39 (after 7 years plenty and 2 years famine) when he reunited with his brothers and Jacob (who was 130 at that time)
11. Jacob died at age 147 (Lived in Egypt for 17 years, Joseph was 56 at time of Jacob's death)
12. Joseph died at age 110.
God seems to love weirdos and flawed people...I'm one 😆 and grateful 🙏🏿.
Whatever you are going through, I hope you have faith. God has provided so many times and ways unseen for me, It's exponential.
You can stumble upon Him in organized church's and just by stumbling through life period.
It's when you look up, and look back. Personal relationship. Love y'all, I'm weird, it's OK. 🕊
I question everything like im supposed to as my nature theres flaws in everything that has happened or reason or logic obviously sum stuff aren't supposed to be making sense but how do we know the story isnt real?? How do we know that exactly how everything went for play did God have to do it that way why not take his own life instead of a innocent is questions like these that don't symbolize my true god he has no name
I am sorry but I am not going to sacrifice my son to proof I believe in GOD. He would have to punish me but my son would be alive
So Cain didn't pass he failed
This is the god people worship smh.
History shouldn’t include works of fiction. This should be “See U in mythology.”
We see how even here is a fulfilling of the old testament
Reason God wanted Abraham to go Mount Moriah is what Jesus was referring to in John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” Abraham considered that God could raise Isaac from the dead.
A troubles father 😢 with his only son.
Just another wise tale past down

I never agreed with this story. It always felt to me like it was never God, but something pretending to be God
"God" or "Gods" are created in order to maintain control over people, that's it.
Humans created the concept of god, not the other way around.
Do you mean the sacrifice of Ishmael???? We aren't donkey 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴
