Man Jon you got the double cut! 👍🏼 I gotta say…in every one of your videos, the tunes you write at the beginning are always killer! Love the reviews too! Take care dude! ✌🏼💚
Thanks for this comparison. Your playing is so exceptional and pleasing to my ears. I was convinced that I would get the single cut from your separate demo, but hearing the sparkle and chime of the doublecut here and your separate demo of it has changed my mind…. I think.
I must say that this video demonstrates that regardless what guitar you use, your skills and talent are amazing 🤩 I came for the comparison but got delighted with the music and your playing. My next guitar will be a PRS, not sure which one but I have good references and demos from you Jon. Cheers
My God Jonathan today's playing from another planet...just great...I LOVE PRS have a couple...thae sound today a clarity a depth..a chime just great ...how are u getting th a t sound 👍👍👍❤

The pick ups sounds not very good, no mojo, a bit fizzly in the top end, too spanky like one of those 100$ Chines guitars. Maybe swap the pick ups with Kloppmann, DelMare or Amber pick ups.
Hey man! Thanks so much for putting your videos out! I really enjoy listening to you make these things sing. Anyway, I just bought an s2 McCarty 594 and wondered if you had any recommendations for online lessons. I played by ear maybe 20-25 years ago and would love to get back in the right way. Thanks for the help!
Under high gain the Thinline wins. For clean playing the standard double cut has a more pleasant sparkle. The Single cut is a bit too pokey in the highs when played clean. Could just be this particular copy. Since I cannot stand the pattern vintage neck, the Thinline would be my personal choice.
You picked very well Jon. It’s a beauty 😄👍 I have to say I love the thin line, looks wise and tone wise too, and also the neck would suit my little hands. I was surprised at how different tonally they were and all of them sound wonderful in their own way. Great comparison video Jon 😄👍❤️
really nice playing. I have had all three and loved them, now have two core McCarty 594 singlecuts and one thinline. Loving the thinbline. Are any of your Helix presets available for download ?
Thanks, Jon! I got a 2022 Thinline. Love it. Thanks. I'm chopped down to 1 1/4 severely nerve damaged legs so weight is SO important to avoid pain and with your vids I knew the Thinline was for me, Tobacco Burst of course, and WE were right!!! So nice to play. Ol Ted would be happy! I even took the slide of my finger, you play slide Really well, and started playing with my fingers again. I haven't done that since 1970. Your vids are great Jon, thanks Man... You really play GREAT Man.... I use my middle finger as well for slide..its just natural.
Holy smokes bro, you are smoking fast on that neck today. I can tell you were feeling it big time! They all sound so awesome, but that blue single cut is priceless! Love it!!! Thank you Brother John for the super shreds this late afternoon. Made my day Brother🎸✌
Ha i agree 100%! The DC was the one for me also! That Maple cap always adds a little sweetness to the mids! Mahogany alone is a little more sharp and thinner sounding! Results are the same if you compare a Les Paul Studio with an SG.
They all sound good.... Pretty subjective sound-wise..... You'd want to take into account how it plays for you.... and looks too. There's something that almost sounds phased going on in the single cut on the neck pick-up..... Unless that was effects. If that's straight out if the guitar....I might have to rule that one out.
PRS and Orange. I see you are a man of good taste. I was considering the Thinline because of the pattern thin neck. I have a CE24 with that neck and it’s great. But sound wise, yeah I prefer the double cut and single cut.
After all this time this is still my favorite track of yours, Jon. Do you know if this JTC backing track is available on UA-cam or anywhere else so the rest of us can try to learn and pratice your links here? Cheers!
I correctly guessed the one you would pick 😊. I like the look of that one best but I also like the sound of the thinline. I bought a S2 Custom 24 35th anniversary model last year and it is the easiest guitar I have to play, the neck is just right for me, but I keep looking at these 594s as I like the tension feel of the shorter scale on my Les Paul.
PRS have yet to make a guitar that ticks all my requirements. For me it has to be an S type slim body , with a slim wide radius neck. Alnico pickups, floating trem, locking tuners and in either Blue or Black Cherry The new Silver Sky SE is not for me, the neck radius is way too narrow. Thanks for your very interesting comparison Jonathan
Sorry to say but I recognise PRS efforts to have sort of differentiated products to what has the industry stuck in the 50’s, so not completely happy with newest launch, a Strat copy, yet improved but just another copy. But I guess that’s what customers players want and as an American company, PRS goes where the sales are coming and the Silver Sky SE is expected to be a huge sales sucess
@@sjazzp Good luck to PRS, i like Strat shaped guitars, but refuse to pay the prices that are asked by the companies based in the USA. There are plenty of alternatives that i prefer with the same quality of the PRS SE models, but at lower prices.
@@Barbarapape I agree, plenty of amazing options out there that are non-made in USA, I’m looking to PRS SE models as well, any US made guitar are crazy expensive in Australia.
Expected the single cut to have the sweeetest midrange. But for me it was the one cut. Lovely mids. I also loved the sparkle of the thin line. On clean neck sounds it was so clear and sparkly. As I play clean a lot, I would seriously consider the thinline. Also if I wanted to add a core model down the line, the thinline is different enough to justify having both - it is it’s own guitar. The only thing that would worry me is the pattern thin neck. Is it still as enjoyable to play? Lovely playing by the way! This is a very useful comparison.

singlecut sounds better because it's blue. blue guitars sound better always :D
lol ✌💚

Loved this video. You want straight to what matters. How it sound's.
Thank you✌️❤️
By feel alone, what guitar is the most comfortable?
For me.. the double cut

Jon, your phrasing and clean tones bring joy to my ears.
My dream is to sound like that.

Yes the thinline is really nice! ✌💚
The S2 Mcarty Doublecut or S2 Custom 22? Custom 22 seems fuller sounding but I want a 24.5' guitar. Nice playing!
Thank you ✌️❤️

Yes...it has to be dependent on how you feel when you play them..for me ,I chose what I chose depending on the overall experience ✌💚
This shootout made me feel like i was playing Pilotwings 64 flying through the air as birdman across mt.rushmore, the good days

Hi John, where do you read that with the CAB finish? I thought they are poly.
In one of the official PRS's videos✌💚
You should do a top guitar picksups for the different types of genre.
I could but I do not have the required experience or resources to do it...✌💚
Me, not being a fan of PRS guitars, have to say, only you can make them sound so great! 💚
hehe
Beautiful playing! That deserved a sub!!!
Thank you and welcome to the Channel!!✌️❤️
