Sir, you remind me of my dad back on the farm. He was more expecting of me, but I’m glad he was because I LEARNED so much from him! Farming kept me out of trouble as a teenager. I miss him so much, but I’m gonna live my life and apply what he taught me! 🏛👍👍👍🇺🇸

Tim is a lucky son to have a great Dad like you. My Dad and I clowned around much like you and Tim. They are fond memories. Alas youtube was not available in my younger generation when my Dad was alive.
Tim is very lucky to have you.

You have described what is wrong with my Caseih MX100 with loader front end to a T. Now I am going to try to tackle the problem than send it to the dealer where they can't seem to fix anything and have the equipment 10 times longer than they should have it. Thanks. I also like you are teaching Tim by making him do the work rather than having him watch you.

Nice job Wes & Tim! It seems you spend half your day farming, and the other half of the day repairing equipment. But I guess that's the way it is in farming!

Poor Tim, he will learn as you did. LOL You never stop learning. Lucky the planetry gear collapsed where it did instead of out on the field. Youre teaching him well and having some fun with it. :o)

  • @jevlars
    @jevlars 10 років тому +1

Have you ever had excessive play in the bearings that you adjusted? When the wheel bearings get sloppy it leads to the planetary gears having to take up the loads instead of just transmitting driving power and that can cause surface defects on the teeth, gear bearing failure and as it happened here, the ring gear to distort and possibly crack.
I see this quite often on wheeled excavators we repair with basically the same type of hubs.
Superb channel by the way, I love your approach to tasks and problems.

The last planetary gears I put in was from an oil leak that run the bushings dry and galled all the gears with metal particles. As I recall, that stuff was costly and it was (Blue) from Romania LOLZ.. You are right about that little popper gun aint going to take those wheels off [Giggle]

You could have shown Tim the easy way to do it, slip off the power steering pipes, pull out the inner pin, and used a bench vice to squeeze the pin in, a little spray grease on the bush will help. 10mins max.

Why don't You take a long, big bolt, nut and two big washers to mount the bushings? You put the bolt Through the bushing and piston end with the washers on each side, when You tighten the nut on It You Will press the bushing in.

Well if you think your pissing off the little ladies or who ever by picking on Tim you should tell Tim to quit smiling, it's a dead give-away. Maintaining equipment, an evil necessity. At least you didn't strip a screw that you didn't have a replacement for and had to drive to town just for one screw and end up buying a half dozen. :) Levi~~

Wes my uncle and I have the same relationship my dad to they always busy my balls but if it weren't for them I wouldn't be half the person I am today they pushed me pretty hard and in my opinion more people need that these days screw the cuddly bubbly bs it's a load of crap you can tell Tim and you have a great relationship you work together every day if he didn't like it he wouldn't be there. I hate seeing your equipment break on you but I love it at the same time teaches me how to fix my own stuff haha

    Hi Wes
Don't ever trade that tractor off on a 7230 premium style tractor. The front axles are junk on them when used as a loader tractor. I fixed one for a customer the axle shaft bearings are not big enough for the load they take. Then the bearings wear on the shafts and cause the hub input seals to go out. That tractor got traded at 3500 hrs due to that front axle and problems with it. I have heard of $10.000 work orders on more than one of those axles in the last few years with no warranty payouts.
    Regards Robert

If you don't need the 4 wheel drive to load hay, you can just leave the sun gear shaft, and the planetaries out, and run it, and it should get you by til you can get the proper parts.

Considering the the hundreds of bales that tractor and loader has moved and lorries loaded I'm surprised there is not much more wear than appears to be the actual case.

YOu do not have a clue what you are doing? Ever hear of a tech manual. You can not tighten the bearings up. You need to replace the bearings. There is a torque specs to the nut. Once again you know enough to be dangerous.
